    Chapter 121

After a meal, Yan Yunqing successfully integrated into the small circle of Class A.

Before leaving, Yan Yunqing noticed that Quinn’s [Chaos] debuff hadn’t disappeared yet. However, Terrence and Quinn were in the same dormitory, and they were still at school, so there shouldn’t be any problems.

Yan Yunqing returned with peace of mind, wanting to carefully study his stat panel. The increase in his Charm stat was simply too exaggerated.

    The next day.

The Magic History test papers from the day before yesterday had all been graded. The students of Class A, having received notification, arrived at the classroom, awaiting their final ‘judgment’.

This time, Yan Yunqing didn’t continue to torment his roommate. Instead, he sat with the small group of friends he’d just gotten to know yesterday, yawning as he sat down.

“Didn’t sleep well last night?” Terrence turned his head, noticing Yan Yunqing’s visible fatigue, and couldn’t help but ask.

“Hmm… a little bit.” Yan Yunqing smiled, “This is my first time taking a test, and I haven’t attended any classes before. I’m a little worried.”

“It’s okay, the worst-case scenario is just retaking the course next year,” Quinn said nonchalantly.

Yan Yunqing glanced at his status bar. Hmm, the debuff was gone. It seemed it wasn’t a long-lasting debuff.

    “Yeah.”

Terrence wordlessly glanced at Quinn. Yesterday, as soon as they returned to the dormitory, he grilled this childhood friend of his, confirming that Quinn didn’t have any ulterior motives toward the newcomer, at most just finding him good-looking and wanting to take a few more glances.

At first, Terrence definitely didn’t believe it. After all, with Quinn’s behavior, how could anyone believe he wasn’t interested? But looking at Quinn’s current state, as if his emotional intelligence had gone missing, Terrence really began to wonder if his perception was off.

Was this how someone acted when they liked someone?

It really didn’t seem like it!

Terrence himself seemed more concerned about this new classmate than Quinn.

Quinn didn’t think there was anything wrong with what he said. That was his decision all along. Although he’d been successfully admitted to Sigrit Academy and into Class A thanks to his father being a teacher, he really couldn’t muster any interest in dry and tedious courses like Magic History.

The worst he could do was fail the test and get a beating from his mother. The test was already over, so what was the point of being nervous now?

The students didn’t have to wait long. Mr. Reid, the Magic History teacher, walked into the classroom with a stack of papers in hand. The expression on his face was relaxed, without a hint of anger, and even a hint of a smile could be seen.

Seeing this, everyone secretly breathed a sigh of relief. In any case, with Mr. Reid in such a good mood, at least the average score wouldn’t be too bad.

But as soon as he put down the stack of papers, he said something that made Yan Yunqing think he’d wandered onto the wrong set.

“I’ve never taught such terrible students like you.”

Yan Yunqing: ? Did I time travel back to my senior year of high school?

The other students in Class A: ???!!!

Reid tapped the test papers on the desk, “Class A has a total of fifty-one students, oh, including the newly added one, let’s call it fifty-two. Only twenty-one passed this test, which is less than half.”

Reid rummaged through the papers, pulling out one in particular, and exclaimed with an incredulous tone: “Someone even scored only 12 points? What exactly is in your brain? It couldn’t possibly be the Magic History I taught, right?”

    “Pfft…”

Someone secretly laughed under their breath, like the roar that triggers an avalanche. For a moment, suppressed snickers rose and fell. If the air in the classroom hadn’t remained mostly unchanged, Yan Yunqing would have thought someone couldn’t hold it in anymore.

Precisely because of this, some people who didn’t originally want to laugh were inadvertently dragged into it by others and ended up laughing out loud.

Reid also wanted to laugh a little, but he restrained himself. Because he was holding it back too much, his expression was particularly stern, looking as if he was extremely angry.

He casually slammed the 12-point test paper on the desk and shouted, “Quinn!”

    Quinn was startled, “Here!”

Reid shook the test paper, “Tell me, how did you manage to get this score? Twelve points?”

Twelve points were indeed beyond Reid’s expectations. Although Ms. Theresa had set many traps in the later short answer and essay questions, the fill-in-the-blank questions at the beginning were all free points!

Those were basically all the content Reid had taught earlier. He had even specially added those fill-in-the-blank questions because he was afraid his students’ test scores would be too ugly, leading Professor Theresa to think he wasn’t teaching well.

But someone still scored twelve points, only getting five multiple-choice questions right. The remaining two points were for filling up the essay question, but the answers were completely irrelevant. Reid searched for a long time before finding a barely justifiable point to add those two points, resulting in the total score of twelve! Was this reasonable?

    Obviously not reasonable!

Quinn looked sheepish. He knew he probably didn’t do well after taking the test, but scoring only twelve points was really beyond his imagination.

“Uh…” Quinn stammered, sitting up straight, looking somewhat uneasy, “The questions were a bit difficult…”

“No matter how difficult they were, the fill-in-the-blank questions were content I taught, and you only got five right! That’s twenty fill-in-the-blank questions in total! Your accuracy rate isn’t even half!”

“Ha–” Harold, who had just had a fight with Quinn and had a conflict, sneered unceremoniously.

Quinn’s gaze instantly shot toward Harold’s direction like a sharp sword, his eyes blazing with fire.

    “What are you laughing at?”

“Laughing at a fool who scored twelve points,” Harold sneered, “I wonder if someone’s father will be so ashamed of his son’s score that he’ll resign from his position as a Sigrit professor.”

“You!” Quinn was infuriated. If the teacher wasn’t present, these two would probably have another fierce fight.

Seeing that a century-level battle was about to break out, Reid wouldn’t indulge Harold. He rummaged through the stack of test papers, “Harold, do you think you did well? 44 points—you only got a little more than half of the twenty free-point fill-in-the-blank questions right, and you can still laugh at others?”

Harold’s originally arrogant smiling face instantly turned gloomy. This time, it was Quinn’s turn to sneer unceremoniously. Harold immediately glared at Quinn, gnashing his teeth, “You scored 12 points, and you still have the nerve to laugh at me?”

Quinn snorted, “Who said I was laughing at you? I’m laughing at the idiot who also failed but is over there gloating over other people’s scores.”

Harold slammed the table and stood up. Quinn didn’t give an inch and also slammed the table, standing up.

“Sit down, both of you!” Reid roared, breaking the highly volatile atmosphere, “Both of you failed, how can you have the nerve to laugh at each other?”

Reluctantly sitting down after being scolded, the two continued to fight with their eyes. If their gazes could be used as weapons, these two would probably be covered in blood, all from each other’s attacks.

Reid glanced at them, “Given that your test scores this time are so terrible, they will all be counted towards the final grade. Two-thirds of your class will have to retake this course.”

“So, I discussed it with the other teachers. This test will not be counted towards your final grade for now. A month from today, all those who failed will retake the test, with the same scope as this time. If your score is still failing next time, then you can wait to retake my class next year!”

After delivering his harsh words, Reid had the test papers passed out one by one.

“Damn, how did you only get fifty-three points? You said you would definitely pass this time, but you’re still the same as me, retaking it in a month.”

“Do you have the nerve to talk about me? You’re nine points lower than me. You weren’t acting like this when you finished the test the other day!”

“That gloomy guy actually got ninety-three. Is he even human? A lot of the questions this time weren’t in the textbook, right? Did this guy memorize the entire Ermann History?”

“That’s too exaggerated, but he seems to do well on every test…”

Yan Yunqing heard the discussions and glanced in Demetrius’s direction, only to find him holding the test paper, looking down and writing something, as if he didn’t feel the surrounding people’s comments at all.

Withdrawing his gaze, Yan Yunqing waited for a while, but didn’t receive his test paper. Until everyone had received their papers, no one seemed to have an extra one.

    Yan Yunqing: ?

Where was his paper? He was ready to face his miserable score, how could his paper be lost?

Reid scanned around, looking at the students’ varied expressions after receiving their papers, and secretly felt a sense of satisfaction. Back when he was a student under Ms. Theresa, he had the same expression every time there was a test.

Now it was finally his turn to watch other students get tormented by Ms. Theresa’s papers.

Turning his head, Reid’s gaze met Yan Yunqing’s, and he suddenly remembered what Ms. Theresa had told him before leaving.

“Oh right, the newcomer, Xavier, was it? Your paper was taken away by Professor Theresa.” Reid said this with some doubt, “Professor Theresa said your paper—well, many of the answers were fantastical, but some details matched the historical records, so she took your paper back to study.”

“As for the score, Professor Theresa said she couldn’t give an accurate score for now. She’ll give you a fair score after she finishes her research.”

Reid had also seen Xavier’s test paper. It couldn’t be considered fantastical, it was completely fabricated. He originally wanted to give the newcomer a zero—he didn’t get a single one of the free-point fill-in-the-blank questions right!

But Ms. Theresa stopped him at the end. According to Ms. Theresa, the student’s test paper seemed to have something to it.

Even now, Reid couldn’t believe it: Really? The Elf King initially agreed to leave the forest with the Eternal Lord not because he valued the Eternal Lord’s wisdom and courage, but simply because he was tricked into being a fighter?

How could such a thing be possible! The most authoritative historical record clearly stated that the Elf King was willing to form a family contract with the Eternal Lord, first because of the Eternal Lord’s threat of force, and second because he admired the Eternal Lord’s outstanding wisdom and courage!

It was no exaggeration to say that when Reid saw this answer, he felt like the sky was falling.
