WTYTIAAN Chapter 117
by VolareChapter 117
The originally spacious and tidy classroom was now a complete mess. What started as a minor dispute between Quinn and Harold escalated into a full-blown brawl, overturning desks and chairs and scattering them everywhere. Textbooks were strewn across the floor, and the magical plants brought in for the day’s Basic Botany class were also scattered. A bioluminescent mushroom, undoubtedly stepped on, lay on the ground with a clear footprint on its cap.
Quinn and Harold were each trapped in a large bubble, glaring fiercely at each other, still looking unwilling to concede. It seemed that if released, they would immediately pounce and tear into each other.
Several others who had fought particularly hard were also confined in separate bubbles. Yan Yunqing, having backed out quickly upon seeing Diure enter, managed to avoid the same fate by pretending to be a bystander.
“You bastard!” Two people in one bubble started fighting again. Yan Yunqing watched, realizing they were clearly not on the same side.
This teacher was truly ruthless, trapping members of opposing factions in the same bubble!
Yan Yunqing couldn’t help but glance at the furious teacher, who raised his magic wand. The two wrestling figures were instantly separated and confined in two smaller bubbles. Due to the limited space, they could only curl up inside.
Yan Yunqing felt a slight stirring of interest. This bubble magic seemed quite useful.
Diure’s sharp gaze swept over the group, not even sparing Yan Yunqing, who was huddled in a corner. His expression was stern, his voice calm but filled with palpable anger. “What is the meaning of this?”
“Teacher Diure! That bug provoked me! He—”
Before Harold could finish, Quinn coldly interrupted, “I was just stating facts. Haven’t you never even placed second in exams? You were the one who charged in and started the fight. Do you really need to ask who’s at fault?”
“You! You rude and filthy bug!”
“Enough!” Diure sharply cut off their impending exchange of insults, his face darkening further. “I don’t want to hear your pointless bickering. Will someone tell me what actually happened?”
The others who participated in the fight exchanged awkward glances. Everything had happened so fast that they hadn’t really understood what had triggered the brawl. They had simply seen Quinn and Harold fighting and rushed in to help.
But when asked to explain the specifics, they couldn’t offer any coherent explanation.
Yan Yunqing sighed and stepped forward. “Teacher, I know what happened.”
Yan Yunqing recounted the events leading up to the fight, slightly embellishing Quinn’s words to make him sound better, considering Quinn had been defending him.
“Because Harold expressed hostility towards me, Quinn said a few words on my behalf and comforted me, saying Harold just disliked me and that I shouldn’t take it to heart.”
“These words may have unintentionally hurt or stung Harold, so he cursed at both Quinn and me. Quinn retorted and pointed out that Harold bullied his roommate, York.”
“Then Harold charged at Quinn and punched him, and after that, it was what you saw, Teacher.”

Yan Yunqing delivered his explanation skillfully, without denigrating Harold or praising Quinn. He simply emphasized that Harold had been hostile towards him first, Quinn had said a few words in his defense, and Harold had then attacked Quinn.
This was indeed the truth, albeit with Quinn’s sarcastic remarks downplayed, making it seem entirely Harold’s fault.
Besides, Quinn hadn’t really done anything wrong. And even if he had, so what? Yan Yunqing wasn’t about to help someone who was unfriendly to him, was he?
Demetrius, lurking in a corner, discreetly glanced at Yan Yunqing and blinked.
Did he just smell something?
Yan, the Little Green Tea, Yunqing continued his efforts: “This is also my fault. I failed to stop them from fighting at the first moment. Later, when I tried to intervene, everyone was already fighting. I couldn’t separate them.”
Quinn, who had not felt Yan Yunqing pulling him: ?
Harold, whose arm had been pinned and who had received several kicks: ?
The surrounding people who had witnessed the whole process: Oh…what he said seems right? But also seems like there’s a problem somewhere?
Demetrius: …
Demetrius silently lowered his eyes. He knew nothing.
Even Harold was somewhat confused. The facts seemed to be as the kid described.
Seeing that no one refuted Yan Yunqing’s words, Diure knew that Yan Yunqing had told the truth. He frowned and looked at Harold with an unfavorable expression. “Harold, is that what happened? Did you strike first?”
“Yes, but Teacher…”
Diure interrupted Harold. “No ‘buts’.”
“You know, Harold, the academy has its rules. Students are not allowed to fight in private, let alone use skills to fight. You should be grateful you didn’t use magic; otherwise, you would be expelled.”
Trapped in another large bubble, Quinn grinned maliciously, his face full of delight.
“No! Teacher, I was wrong!” Harold said in alarm, quickly admitting his mistake. “I was just too angry. Quinn said I was like a clucking chicken!”
Yan Yunqing: ?
He couldn’t agree with that. This guy had been calling him “bug” and “trash,” while Quinn had only called him a “clucking chicken.” Which was worse?
“Huh?” Quinn seemed amused by Harold’s statement. “Did I call you a ‘clucking chicken’? Did I say anything wrong? Aren’t you always squawking like a clucking chicken? Anyone who didn’t know better would think you were laying eggs.”
“Besides, you call me ‘bug’ constantly. Is ‘clucking chicken’ an insult, but ‘bug’ isn’t? Has your brain evolved into a clucking chicken too? Seriously, should we send you to the Magical Creature Research Lab to dissect and see how big your brain is?”
Yan Yunqing’s mind wandered for a moment: What? Magical Creature Research Lab? Did I stumble onto the wrong set? Is this Sigrit or Hogw〇rts?
Wouldn’t there also be a Department of Magical Creature Management and Control?

“You noisy bug, who allowed you to speak…”
“Alright.” Diure frowned at Quinn. “You’re also a primary instigator of the fight. Did you think you’d escape punishment? Still laughing over there.”
Quinn shrugged, looking unconcerned. “Teacher, do as you please. Of course, I admit I participated in the fight, but you can’t put the main blame on me, right? Harold was the one who provoked and attacked first. It has nothing to do with me.”
Harold glared fiercely at Quinn, who met his gaze with composure.
Diure was disgusted by Quinn’s brazen attitude. He scoffed and released the bubble magic. The people who had been floating in the air lost their confinement and fell to the ground.
Cries of “Ouch!” and “Ouch!” echoed as the densely packed figures landed on top of one another.
The person at the bottom cried out in anguish, “Are you all pigs? Why are you so heavy?!”
Quinn landed squarely on his backside, while Harold sprawled forward onto one of his followers.
“Your behavior in fighting is terrible. Furthermore, you refused to admit your mistake after being caught and violated the academy’s rules, even nearly harming innocent classmates.” Diure glanced at Yan Yunqing. “This is extremely egregious behavior.”
Innocent Classmate Yan Yunqing tilted his head and pointed to himself: Ah? Me?
Diure was expressionless. “Considering that you did not use magic during the fight, and it does not warrant expulsion, I will report your actions to the academy and await their punishment.”
Those who had only been bystanders gasped softly.
A fight sparked by a simple dispute could actually lead to expulsion? They should be glad that Teacher Diure had arrived quickly, before the fight escalated into magical combat.
“As for the others who participated in this fight—” Diure’s gaze swept over everyone, announcing their punishment amidst the anxious faces: “I won’t report you to the academy. Instead, you will all be responsible for cleaning all the common areas of Class A for the next semester, and submit a written self-criticism to me within three days.”
“If plagiarism, ghostwriting, or excessive superficiality is found in the self-criticisms, your final grade for this semester will be lowered by one level.”
The crowd collectively sucked in a breath.
What did a lowered grade mean? It meant they might be kicked out of Class A next semester, as there was a rigid requirement for entering Class A: only students ranked in the top 10% in strength and overall grades in the same year could enter Class A.
Class A students not only had the best teachers in the same year, but also enjoyed the highest standards of learning conditions and many hidden benefits. No one who was able to enter Class A was willing to give up their status and be demoted to another class.
Diure had hit everyone’s pain point. Some of them who had wanted to argue their case immediately wilted, fearing that a word would cause Diure to change the punishment and lower their final grades directly.
That would be a disaster!
As one of the two people being reported to the academy, Quinn still maintained an indifferent expression, but Yan Yunqing could tell that beneath his nonchalance lay an anxious heart.
As for Harold?
His expression turned directly gloomy. He stopped glaring at Quinn and instead turned his sinister gaze towards Yan Yunqing.
He hadn’t forgotten who had caused this farce in the first place.
That hateful, lowborn bug, the son of a former baron who had his title stripped? Ha, this trash was even able to enter Class A and be compared with him?
Yan Yunqing felt the unfriendly gaze and glanced thoughtfully at Harold.
