    Chapter 73

    Freedom City.

A territory belonging to bounty hunters and the vast majority of people and alien races who operate in the gray areas. It is located on the southwestern side of the Ermann Continent, near the desert, and the folk customs are relatively sturdy.

The headquarters of the Bounty Hunter Association is also located here, forming a three-legged balance in Freedom City with the underground casino, Mandy Peel, and various guilds (Mage Guild, Swordsman Guild, etc.).

However, because of this, Freedom City has no official authority to govern it on the surface, so the crime rate here is only high and not low, and it is also known as the City of Sin.

People who can live here are not simple.

Yan Yunqing compressed all his travel time, and it took him half a month to reach Freedom City.

He looked at the city walls belonging to Freedom City from a distance. After a long period of wind and sand erosion, the walls here were somewhat dilapidated, and everything in sight was loess. The sun here was very dazzling. Even though it was November and approaching December, it was still hot and scorching, and the ground was sizzling with smoke.

A heat wave swept over, carrying a sky full of yellow sand, blowing so hard that people could hardly open their eyes.

Yan Yunqing put down the light gauze on his hat brim again. He bought this on the way when he was replenishing supplies in a city in front of him. The yellow sand along the way was really annoying.

He walked towards the city gate. There was no so-called city guard in this kind of unattended area. If it wasn’t for worrying about a monster that might pop out of the yellow sand at any time and attack people, Freedom City might not even have city walls.

He entered the city very easily. Freedom City was full of exotic customs. Everyone was dressed in revealing and sexy outfits. Their skin was dark from years of sun exposure. Most of the weapons were placed in the most conspicuous places on their bodies, as if they would fight at any moment –

In fact, that was indeed the case.

As soon as Yan Yunqing walked into the city, he ran into two men fighting fiercely head-on. The posture of each punch hitting flesh seemed like they couldn’t wait to beat the other to death on the spot.

However, the people passing by around were not surprised at all. Some nosy people even stopped directly to watch the show, cheering loudly when they got excited, as if they didn’t mind the excitement.

The people here are indeed very sturdy!

    Yan Yunqing exclaimed.

He observed the people in the city, and also knew that there must be people observing him around. It wasn’t that someone harbored malice towards him, but just looking at his attire, one could tell that he was out of tune with this Freedom City.

Among a group of gray-looking mercenaries and bounty hunters, a person who was wrapped tightly and wearing a veiled hat so that one couldn’t see their face at all suddenly appeared. Everyone would curiously take a few more glances.

Yan Yunqing didn’t care. He walked casually on the side of the road, and could feel the local customs by looking at the shops along the street. Just like the shops outside Sigret Academy sold all kinds of magic potions, alchemy items, and the like, this place was full of weapon shops along the roadside.

The outside was filled with scimitars and greatswords, which can be described as ‘simple folk customs’.

As Yan Yunqing looked at those shops, he keenly noticed a gaze watching him. He glanced around without leaving a trace.

“Hey, don’t run, you return my spear!”

“Hehehe, catch me if you can!”

Not far away, there were two small figures, one in front and one behind, rushing towards Yan Yunqing’s direction. The child in front was holding a wooden spear high in his hand. The workmanship was not exquisite, but it looked decent, and it was a weapon specially made for children to play with.

Yan Yunqing stepped aside to avoid the two children from bumping into him. The child holding the spear ran past in a hurry, but the one chasing behind him accidentally stepped on a stone on the ground, and his body tilted, about to pounce forward.

Yan Yunqing quickly reached out and grabbed the back of the child’s collar, directly lifting the other party up, avoiding the child from flying out because of stepping on a stone.

The little boy was thin and small. He was a little embarrassed to be picked up by Yan Yunqing, and hurriedly said to Yan Yunqing, “Thank you, big brother.”

After he finished speaking, he wanted to run, but Yan Yunqing never released the action of grabbing the back of his collar.

The little boy turned his head blankly: “Brother?”

He looked at the other little boy who had already run far away in front, with a worried expression: “Brother, let go of me quickly, Freddie is about to run away!”

Yan Yunqing glanced at the anxious little boy through the veiled hat, and chuckled: “Child, I kindly held you, but you stole my purse, isn’t that bad?”

The little boy was stunned, looking at Yan Yunqing blankly.

Yan Yunqing stretched out another hand, “Give it back, my purse.”

The little boy gradually put away his innocent and dazed expression, glared at Yan Yunqing fiercely, and suddenly struggled hard, trying to break free from Yan Yunqing’s hand.

How could Yan Yunqing give him this opportunity? He directly grabbed his arms, buckled them behind his back, and pinned the little boy to the ground in a standard posture of suppressing a prisoner. After all, the difference in body size between an adult and a child was too great. Yan Yunqing’s set of smooth movements did not encounter any resistance at all.

He easily retrieved the purse that the child had touched away at some point, and Yan Yunqing tossed it up and down, then put it back in his pocket again.

Don’t ask him why he was so sensitive. In fact, the child’s movements were already hidden enough. Even he didn’t notice it at all. However, Yan Yunqing, who had read countless film and television works, novels and comics, was too familiar with the plot of this kind of child deliberately approaching to steal and snatch purses.

He had even done it himself, and touched a lot of red-named people’s purses, so when these two children ran close, he had already secretly become vigilant.

The moment he grabbed the child, he subconsciously checked the purse he had placed in his arms, and sure enough, it disappeared inexplicably. He didn’t even know how it disappeared.

But he was sure that his purse was stolen by this child who suddenly ran over and approached.

Sure enough, he found his purse with a casual touch.

The child pressed to the ground by him turned his head and looked at him with a very gloomy gaze, no longer with the innocence and romance he had just had. After Yan Yunqing let go, he jumped up and ran away in a puff of smoke.

Yan Yunqing snorted and chuckled, glanced over the people watching the excitement around him, and looked at a few other small figures hidden in the crowd, who were also paying attention to his direction in a subtle way.

Oh, is it actually a gang crime?

It seems that this Freedom City is indeed free.

Yan Yunqing ignored the gazes of those children looking at him. He was not someone to be bullied. He had killed a lot of monsters on this road. Killing monsters at high intensity, and killing monsters above his level several times, Yan Yunqing’s current level has soared to forty-four.

You must know that when he was only a dozen levels, he dared to kill Dean, and he dared to make trouble in the royal palace of Bato Vita at level thirty, and he was not afraid of a bunch of level seventy or eighty powerhouses. What can these children do to him?

Even if they can really do something, he has arranged a portable anchor point outside Freedom City in advance. If there is any accident, he can directly turn on [Indomitable Will] and read the bar to run away.

Yan Yunqing still values his little life very much, and has arranged escape methods early on. Unfortunately, this portable anchor point can only exist for seven days, and he has to replace it once every seven days.

But it doesn’t matter, he had already bought enough alchemy materials before leaving Sigret Academy. On the way, he was either killing monsters or rubbing props. Now his backpack is completely full. He stacked what he could stack, and cleared out what he couldn’t stack.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have put the purse he had touched before directly on his body!

The game backpack is much safer than putting it on his body, but compared to the more valuable things in the backpack, this broken purse with only a few copper coins is obviously not important.

Yan Yunqing glanced around, found a shop that looked like a restaurant, and walked in.

Several children who had been staring at Yan Yunqing from afar gathered together and whispered to each other.

“What should we do? He went into Uncle Buck’s noodle shop, do we still have to follow him?”

“Tsk, this person is not easy to mess with, he is too alert.”

The tallest and strongest of them, Freddie, who was also the one who held the wooden spear at the beginning, opened his mouth angrily: “But he looks like a gold ingot at first glance. Although I haven’t seen the clothes on him, I can tell at first glance that it costs a lot of money! Do we really have no chance to attack him?”

“But his strength is unknown.” The little girl in the middle pondered, “Rocco, didn’t you just try to steal that guy’s purse? How did he see your movements?”

The skinny little boy Rocco looked gloomy, shook his head when he heard the words: “I don’t know, I can be sure that he definitely didn’t discover my skill, he didn’t even know where I put the purse at that moment, otherwise he wouldn’t have searched me.”

But someone who knows nothing discovered his little tricks.

Rocco couldn’t figure out what went wrong.

[Stealing] is Rocco’s talent skill. There are very few people in this world who can learn magic, and people with talent skills are even rarer than those with magic talent.

Among these children, there are actually two with talent skills. In addition to Rocco’s [Stealing], the other is the little girl Nika’s [Observation].

This small group composed of children can survive in Freedom City. In addition to relying on adults to occasionally show kindness, they also rely on Nika’s [Observation] to collect information about outsiders, formulate plans, and then implement them by other children and Rocco’s [Stealing].

Nika frowned. Her figure was even thinner and weaker than Rocco’s, with a sickly pale face. She didn’t want to give up this obvious gold ingot.

Don’t look at the fact that many people come and go in Freedom City every day, but they don’t have many targets to attack. Residents who live in the city all the time can’t steal, because these people know where their stronghold is. If they steal from the residents of Freedom City, let alone whether they can get money, their stronghold may be overturned next.

And those who are strong can’t steal. If they are caught, the children who implement the plan may be injured. Being seriously injured in Freedom City is equivalent to chronic waiting for death – they don’t have that much money to buy medicine for their companions.

They can only find someone who looks rich and has moderate strength, and who is best tolerant of children.

Even if they are discovered, seeing that they are children, they may let them go.

And the gold ingot they met today perfectly meets all the above conditions.

His strength is not particularly strong. At least in Nika’s [Observation], the man with the veiled hat doesn’t have that kind of terrifying aura. Generally speaking, people like this have average strength.

Moreover, after discovering that Rocco stole his purse, he just took the purse back, and didn’t even beat Rocco up.

God knows how fast Nika’s heart was beating when she found Rocco being pressed to the ground by the other party in the crowd. She almost thought Rocco would be beaten severely today. She was ready to rush over and pretend to be pitiful to save Rocco, and then use the few copper coins she had to compensate him. She didn’t expect that person to let Rocco go so easily.

There was no intention to pursue it at all.

Soft-hearted, average strength, and very rich.

Nika had no chance to convince herself to give up this goal.

“Let me think, let me think…” Nika closed her eyes and began to think.

The other children who were still chattering immediately quieted down and quietly watched Nika think.

Nika struggled for a long time, took a deep breath: “Then let’s try again, we can’t be so reckless this time, let’s follow him and observe for two days first.”

The other children had no objection.
