Chapter 92: This Young Master is Not That Young Master

Qi Yanwang was awakened by a series of urgent knocks on the door.

He groggily opened his eyes and found that the person in his arms was gone.

“Huaimo?” He reached out and touched the still-warm spot beside him.

    “Bang, bang, bang—”

The knocking grew more frantic, mixed with Qi Xiaoman’s screams:

    “Brother! Open the door!”

Qi Yanwang shot up and grabbed a bathrobe to put on.

As he walked to the door, he glanced back at the bathroom—the sound of running water indicated Zhuo Huaimo was probably showering.

    “So early in the morning…”

He pulled open the door, but the words caught in his throat.

Six black-suited bodyguards stood at the entrance, the leader holding Qi Xiaoman by the back of her collar.

The little girl’s hair was a mess, like a bird’s nest, and her face showed traces of a hangover. Seeing him, she immediately struggled:

    “Brother! Save me!”

Qi Yanwang expressionlessly swept his gaze over them and slammed the door shut.

An instant of silence fell outside the door. The bodyguards exchanged confused glances. One of them asked the leader:

    “Is this… really his sister?”

    Qi Xiaoman looked helpless.

    “Same dad!”

Qi Xiaoman stomped her foot in anger. “Qi Yanwang, open the door for me!”

Inside, Qi Yanwang was tiptoeing back when Zhuo Huaimo, coming out of the bedroom, bumped right into him.

“Who is it?” Zhuo Huaimo rubbed his eyes.

“Salesman,” Qi Yanwang said without changing his expression.

Zhuo Huaimo raised an eyebrow. “Has the security at Emperor’s View Villa gotten this bad?” He went to open the door.

Qi Yanwang took a step to block him. “Don’t—”

“Brother, open the door! I don’t want to go back with them!”

Qi Xiaoman’s wails echoed through the door again.

Zhuo Huaimo raised an eyebrow at him. “Salesman, my ass?”

Qi Yanwang gave an awkward smile, trying to bluff his way through again, nudging Zhuo Huaimo back towards the room.

    “Honey, swearing isn’t nice!”

Zhuo Huaimo was confused. He crossed his arms and looked at him. “Go open the door! Don’t forget, this is *my* house!”

    “Yes, sir!”

Resigned, Qi Yanwang hung his head. When Zhuo Huaimo opened the door, the six black-suited bodyguards bowed in unison.

    “Good morning, Mr. Zhuo!”

Qi Xiaoman, still being held up, gave a sheepish laugh. “Good morning, sister-in-law…”

Zhuo Huaimo narrowed his eyes at Qi Yanwang. “This is what you call a salesman?”

Qi Yanwang glared at his sister. “I knew nothing good would come of you returning to the country. Didn’t you say no one at home knew? Did you tip them off?”

“Am I that stupid? To let them come and catch me?!”

Qi Xiaoman struggled to the ground. “It’s because it’s your birthday today! Dad insisted on sending people to deliver a gift!”

“Birthday gift?” Zhuo Huaimo raised an eyebrow.

The lead bodyguard respectfully presented a velvet box.

“The Old Master instructed us to present this private island to the Young Master as a thirtieth birthday gift.”

Inside the box lay a key and property documents, the island’s name clearly written as:

    “QYW Island”.

    Zhuo Huaimo’s temples throbbed.

    “Wait, your Old Master is…”

    “Happy birthday, Young Master!”

The six bodyguards suddenly lined up and began performing a bizarre dance, singing an off-key song.

“We wish you fortune and longevity as boundless as the heavens, celebrating your happy birthday~”

Qi Yanwang covered his face. “Enough! Get out!”

    “Wait.”

Zhuo Huaimo raised a hand to stop them, pointing at Qi Yanwang. “Explain clearly first, who is he?”

The bodyguards stood at attention. “This is our Young Master.”

    “Young Master?”

The first time they met, this guy *was* a “young master,” a young master at a nightclub!

But not this kind, the kind of young master who could receive an island as a birthday gift and not even bat an eye!

“Which family’s young master?” Zhuo Huaimo’s voice grew colder.

The bodyguard was about to answer when Qi Yanwang rushed forward.

“Honey, give me some face… I’ll explain later!”

“Shut up. You’re already covered in red flags, you have no credibility, you stay over there!”

Zhuo Huaimo shot him a glare. “You guys talk!”

Qi Yanwang, like a scolded dog, drooped his head and retreated to the corner.

The bodyguards looked at the Young Master, then at Zhuo Huaimo, and instantly understood who was in charge.

They looked at Qi Yanwang, caught in a dilemma!

Zhuo Huaimo glanced at Qi Yanwang. “If they don’t explain everything clearly today, I’ll have you packed up and sent packing with them!”

Qi Yanwang gritted his teeth, waved his hand, and gave them a look that said, “Be tactful!”

The bodyguards felt greatly encouraged and decided to tell the truth.

“Young Master is the only heir to the Qi Consortium of L Country, related to the royal family by marriage, with family businesses spanning…”

    “Stop!”

Qi Yanwang jumped in agitation. “Can’t you understand what I’m saying? Be tactful, be tactful, get to the point!”

    The point?

    Understood!

The bodyguard continued, “Young Master also owns thirty private islands, five private jets, and last year was on the Forbes list…”

Zhuo Huaimo’s expression went from shock to numbness, finally settling into a dangerous smile.

“So, the nightclub young master was a lie?”

Qi Yanwang frantically shook his head. “No, no, no, it was true at the time! I ran away from home and had my cards blocked, so I had to…”

“Ran away from home?” Zhuo Huaimo’s voice rose.

The bodyguard interjected again. “Young Master ran away because he refused a political marriage…”

“Shut the hell up!” Qi Yanwang picked up a pillow and threw it.

Zhuo Huaimo took a deep breath, pointing to the sofa.

“Qi Yanwang, sit there and don’t move.”

He turned to the bodyguards. “Keep talking.”

For the next half hour, Zhuo Huaimo listened to a story more dramatic than any soap opera—the Qi family was the hidden richest family in L Country, Qi Yanwang ran away from home to pursue his dream of becoming a celebrity, ending up in China. At his lowest point, he did indeed work as a waiter in a nightclub…

    “Wait!”

The more Zhuo Huaimo heard, the more ridiculous it became. He looked at Qi Yanwang. “Is this a new script from Xingyue Media?”

Qi Yanwang’s eyes lit up instantly, nodding eagerly.

“Yes, yes, yes, it’s all a script, they’re all extras. How is it? Surprising, right?”

    “Qi Yanwang!!”

    “Okay, it’s all true!”

    “So…”

Zhuo Huaimo rubbed his temples. “The ‘parents are dead’ thing you told me?”

Qi Yanwang protested softly. “The old man was so angry he published a statement in the newspaper severing ties with me…”

    “What about these guys?”

Zhuo Huaimo pointed at the bodyguards. “And this island?”

“Standard procedure, they send something like this every year!”

Qi Yanwang lowered his head and fidgeted with his fingers. “But I didn’t dare to tell you…”

Zhuo Huaimo suddenly remembered something. “Wait, Xingyue Media’s listing…”

“That’s from my own hard work!”

Qi Yanwang quickly declared his loyalty. “It has nothing to do with my family!”

Qi Xiaoman weakly raised her hand. “Um… I can testify to that. Because my family also has an entertainment company, and Xingyue Media isn’t on the same level at all. My family wouldn’t even consider something that small!”

    “Qi Xiaoman!”

Qi Yanwang pounced on her, grabbing her neck. “Whose side are you on?!”

Zhuo Huaimo coldly watched the siblings fight, then suddenly got up and walked towards the bedroom.

    “Huaimo!”

Qi Yanwang panicked, leaving his sister to chase after him. “Let me explain…”

The bedroom door slammed shut in front of Qi Yanwang’s nose, nearly flattening his prominent nose.

    “Honey…”

Qi Yanwang knocked pathetically on the door. “I was wrong…”

The sound of packing could be heard inside.

Qi Yanwang paced anxiously, suddenly struck with an idea.

“What I wanted to tell you, I was planning to find a chance to tell you properly, I…”

The loud thud of a suitcase hitting the door was his response.

In the living room, Qi Xiaoman and the six bodyguards sat in a row eating melon seeds.

    “Miss,”

Bodyguard A asked softly, “Is the Young Master usually this… whipped?”

Qi Xiaoman munched on an apple. “This is nothing. You haven’t seen him kneeling on a keyboard…”

As she spoke, Qi Yanwang walked over with a dark face. “You, disappear right now!”

    “But the Old Master instructed…”

“Just say I received the gift, and get the hell out!”

Qi Yanwang kicked the coffee table. “And you,”

He grabbed his sister by the collar. “Go back where you came from!”

Qi Xiaoman struggled. “No! I want to stay and help you plead your case!”

    “No need!”

Qi Yanwang pushed her towards the door. “You’re making things worse!”

After sending everyone away, Qi Yanwang took a deep breath. When he turned around, he had put on his most sincere expression.

He gently pushed open the bedroom door. Zhuo Huaimo was sitting on the bed, an open notebook in front of him.

“This is…” Qi Yanwang cautiously approached.

“All the things you’ve lied to me about.”

Zhuo Huaimo said coldly. “I’ve written them all down.”

Qi Yanwang leaned closer and nearly fainted—the notebook was filled with page after page of the lies he had told over the years, from “parents are dead” to “ordinary family,” and even “first love” with a big question mark after it.

    “This can be explained!”

Qi Yanwang said quickly. “You really are my first love! My first time was really with you!”

“What about the orphanage? Wasn’t there a video? Weren’t you harassed before?”

Qi Yanwang hugged Zhuo Huaimo, “Those are all true, our family is very complicated, at that time the old man hadn’t fully taken over the family, I was born to my dad’s first wife, at that time there was a family fight, my mom gave birth to me in China, at that time the people I owed were took me, and directly threw me in the orphanage, I was 13 years old when they found me and took me back! What I told you before, the first part are all true, it’s just, later, they found me, and I didn’t tell you about the few years when I went back!”

“Qi Yanwang, is there even a single truth in your mouth?”

    “Yes!”

He kissed him hard. “Loving you is true, very, very true!”

Zhuo Huaimo pushed him away. “Don’t even think about using that trick to fool me! You promised you wouldn’t lie to me, and now another thing has popped up. You’re completely untrustworthy!”

“Wife, I didn’t plan on lying to you, I wanted to find a suitable opportunity to tell you…”

“What’s a suitable opportunity? Next year, the year after? Twenty years?”

Qi Yanwang “pffft” and laughed out loud.

“Twenty years? Spending another twenty years together before telling me, isn’t bad either!”

“Qi Yanwang, how can you be so thick-skinned? Do you even have a conscience?”

    “Okay, don’t be angry anymore!”

Qi Yanwang went over and hugged him. “I was afraid of scaring you. I don’t want you to feel burdened. More importantly, I wanted to choose a formal time to tell you, after your parents’ affairs were cleared up, when you didn’t have any worries or troubles. More importantly…”

He paused, then said solemnly, “I want you to rely on me more, rely on me to the point where you can’t live without me, so I can be sure you’ll never abandon me, never leave me, and then I’ll dare to tell you!”

Zhuo Huaimo looked at his sincere gaze, but the anger in his heart still hadn’t subsided. He pushed him out.

“Probation! I’ll ask one more time, are you hiding anything else from me?”

Qi Yanwang clearly hesitated, and instead of answering, asked, “Like what?”

“Forget it, there isn’t a single truthful word in your mouth!”
