    Chapter 29: Relationship Deteriorates

Qi Yanwang yanked open the car door, a scent of cedar mixed with the smell of blood rushed out.

Zhuo Huaimo was dabbing at the corner of his mouth with a tissue. The wound that Qi Yanwang had bitten open in the dressing room was oozing blood, like tempting cinnabar.

“Looking for a substitute? This is what you call ‘leaving it to you’? ‘You’ll figure something out’?”

Qi Yanwang pressed his knee between Zhuo Huaimo’s legs. “You think I’m not good enough?”

Zhuo Huaimo grabbed his wrist and pinned it against the leather seat. The wristwatch dug painfully into his skin.

“There are three hundred people on set waiting to wrap up. Can you get it up for the female lead?”

This sentence completely lit the fuse.

Qi Yanwang exploded, flipping over to pin him down. He tore off his tie with one hand and bound Zhuo Huaimo’s hands.

“I’m not good enough? Che Ye is good enough? Is Che Ye that damn good?”

It was the first time Zhuo Huaimo had seen Qi Yanwang with bloodshot eyes, and he panicked a little.

“Qi Yanwang, you’re fucking crazy! Let me go!”

Qi Yanwang had completely lost his mind. He didn’t even understand whether he was angry that he had ruined the scene or that Zhuo Huaimo had found Che Ye to be his substitute.

He only wanted to completely possess and conquer the man in front of him, so that only he would be in his eyes and in his heart!

He tightly tied Zhuo Huaimo’s hands, reclined the seat, and tugged at his own collar.

“I’ll show you right now how good I am!”

With that, he trapped Zhuo Huaimo beneath him and pressed his entire body down.

In the struggle, the car’s perfume bottle fell, and the citrus notes exploded in the enclosed space.

Zhuo Huaimo’s face flushed red, and his voice began to tremble.

“Qi Yanwang, you only know how to act tough with me. Why don’t you go back to the set and act!”

Qi Yanwang’s hand was reaching under the hem of his shirt, the scalding heat of his palm making his spine tingle.

“What’s wrong? The always calm CEO Zhuo is panicking? Why are you shaking? Didn’t you say I wasn’t good enough? Didn’t you say Che Ye was more suitable than me?”

He grabbed him, his voice cold, “I’ll let you compare and contrast today and see who’s more suitable, who can make you feel better!”

Zhuo Huaimo tried to knee him in the abdomen, but his ankle was grabbed and pulled open.

    *Riiiip—*

The sound of the zipper on his trousers was particularly clear in the sealed car.

Zhuo Huaimo groaned, his breathing becoming rapid as he threatened in a suppressed voice,

“Qi Yanwang, if you dare touch me today, I’ll fucking kill you!”

Qi Yanwang’s movements didn’t stop in the slightest; instead, they became even more violent.

A cruel smile curled at the corner of his mouth.

“Is that so? Then CEO Zhuo should experience it properly and remember this feeling! If you kill me, who else can make you feel so good?”

Zhuo Huaimo struggled desperately, unable to move at all, the ambiguous and decadent atmosphere filled the entire car.

Inside the set, Che Ye replaced Qi Yanwang to complete the final scene.

Outside the set, inside the shaking Cullinan, Qi Yanwang compensated for the “regret” in the play on Zhuo Huaimo!

The car window gradually fogged up, Zhuo Huaimo’s eyes filled with mist, looking at the foggy glass in a daze.

He recalled the morning of their first meeting, he was like this, looking at the man in front of him through the glass.

Using his fingers, he gently outlined his appearance on the foggy glass.

At that time, he knew that sooner or later he would fall into this man’s hands.

He didn’t regret meeting Qi Yanwang. For more than twenty years, the fate of the Star of Calamity and Loneliness had made him live like a walking corpse. It was rare to meet someone who could make him clearly feel his heart beating vividly, and he was willing to put in some effort!

He thought that Qi Yanwang was a wildflower growing in his muddy swamp!

Night had fallen, the crew finished the last filming, and under the streetlights in the parking lot, the Cullinan was still parked in place.

Zhuo Huaimo leaned against the leather seat, and under his open collar, the marks left by Qi Yanwang could still be seen clearly.

He turned his face to one side, the scarlet flame flickered between his fingers.

On the car window, reflected Qi Yanwang’s panicked face.

“I… I’m sorry!” Qi Yanwang said in a hoarse voice, cautiously.

    “Get out!”

He subconsciously wanted to explain, to apologize, to reach out and touch Zhuo Huaimo, but froze in mid-air, eventually lowering it weakly.

“I… I’m sorry!” His voice was hoarse, with a hint of pleading.

The only response he received was Zhuo Huaimo’s colder voice,

    “Get out!”

Qi Yanwang was like a child who had done something wrong, fumbling to tidy up his clothes, and fled out of the car.

He stood under the streetlight, looking at the rear window of the Cullinan. The glass was covered with a layer of mist, and he couldn’t see the scene inside.

He wanted to rush back, hug Zhuo Huaimo in his arms, and tell him that he didn’t mean it, he just…

Just what? He didn’t know. He only knew that he was bewitched, wanting to possess Zhuo Huaimo fiercely, and rub him into his bones and blood.

The Cullinan started, the taillights flashed past, and disappeared into the night.

Qi Yanwang slumped to the ground, hugging his head in his hands. Annoyance, regret, all kinds of emotions intertwined, like a ball of tangled hemp, strangling him so he couldn’t breathe.

Back at the villa, it was empty, without Zhuo Huaimo’s figure, only his faint fragrance, which made him even more dazed.

Qi Yanwang felt empty in his heart, as if something was missing.

He felt panic for the first time, not because his acting career was over, not because he could no longer realize his dreams, but because that person would never forgive him, and would never appear in his world again.

He picked up his phone, wanting to send a message to Zhuo Huaimo, but didn’t know what to say.

    Sorry? Explanation?

    Or…

In the end, he only edited three words, “I’m sorry.”

The message sank into the sea without a reply.

In the following days, Qi Yanwang lived in a daze.

He was like a walking corpse who had lost his soul, eating, sleeping, filming, everything was done mechanically.

He kept flipping through his phone, refreshing the chat interface over and over again, but he never received a reply from Zhuo Huaimo.

The relationship between the two was stuck in a stalemate.

The filming of “Dark Surge” ended, and Zhuo Huaimo still didn’t return to the villa.

Yu Fengran took over all of Qi Yanwang’s work and gave him three days off.

Soon, he arranged a trip abroad for him.

He knew that it was mostly instructed by Zhuo Huaimo. He didn’t want to see him, the further away, the better!

At the airport, he sent a message to Zhuo Huaimo.

“I’m going abroad to film an advertisement. Let’s talk it over when I get back!”

The other party directly blacklisted him!

Zhuo Huaimo returned to his hometown to visit his only relative – his grandmother.

Grandma lived in an old house in the countryside. The house wasn’t big, but it was clean and tidy.

The grapevines in the yard climbed all over the frames, and heavy grapes hung on the branches, emitting an enticing fragrance.

    “Xiao Mo is back.”

Grandma smiled kindly, the wrinkles at the corners of her eyes like blooming chrysanthemums, “You’ve lost weight.”

Zhuo Huaimo’s nose tingled, and he stepped forward to hug his grandmother, “Grandma, I missed you.”

Grandma gently patted his back, “Silly child, if you miss Grandma, come back and see her. Grandma is always here.”

Zhuo Huaimo stayed at his grandma’s house for a few days, helping his grandma with housework, chatting with his grandma, and basking in the sun.

Life at his grandma’s house was peaceful and tranquil, allowing him to temporarily forget the hustle and bustle of the entertainment industry and the troubles brought by Qi Yanwang.

One evening, Zhuo Huaimo accompanied his grandma to enjoy the cool air in the yard.

The sun was setting, and the sky was dyed a golden red. The evening breeze blew, rustling the leaves of the grapevines.

“Xiao Mo,” Grandma suddenly said, “Is there something on your mind?”

Zhuo Huaimo was stunned, then smiled, “No, Grandma.”

Grandma shook her head, “Grandma is old, but not confused yet. You’ve been thoughtful since you were a child, and you keep everything in your heart. Tell Grandma, and Grandma will help you analyze it.”

Zhuo Huaimo hesitated for a moment, and said, “Grandma, I seem to… I’ve fallen in love with someone!”

Grandma was pleasantly surprised, “That’s a good thing! Why are you still unhappy?”

Zhuo Huaimo hesitated for a moment, and smiled bitterly, “Grandma, I…”

He paused, his eyes drifted to the already reddened sky in the distance,

“I don’t even know if I should like him.”

Zhuo Huaimo casually picked up a stone and drew lines on the ground.

“Grandma, you know, with my fate, whoever gets close to me will be unlucky. Why harm others?”

Grandma lightly “hmph”ed, her tone gentle,

    “Tch, a little superstition!”

Zhuo Huaimo lowered his head and smiled, “Grandma, I’m not superstitious, I’m just afraid to take risks. My parents are gone, and I only have you left. I don’t usually want to come back often, just because I’m afraid…”

Grandma put her arm around him, “Xiao Mo, don’t put everything on yourself. Fate is something that can’t be explained, but people’s hearts are clear. Even if fate has an arrangement, it can’t change the choice of a heart. Everything generates and overcomes each other, and fate is the same. Where there is life, there is destruction. How do you know that he is not the one who can break your fate? Moreover, love is a matter for two people. How can you make the decision for others because of your own reasons?”

Zhuo Huaimo didn’t respond, and just silently lowered his head.

After a moment, he chuckled, “Forget it, he doesn’t seem to like me that much either!”

This soft self-deprecation sounded particularly harsh.

Grandma frowned, put down the fan in her hand, sighed softly, and reached out to pat the back of his hand, her eyes full of pity, “Silly child, don’t imagine things out of thin air, go try it, even if it’s not what you think in the end! After all, you have to live a decent life, you can’t give up without even trying, right?”

Zhuo Huaimo suddenly laughed, but the smile was so indifferent.

He raised his eyes to look at Grandma, and regained that superficial indifference and disdain,

“Grandma, I’m much smarter than you think. It’s not that I don’t want to try, it’s just… I’m too lazy.”
