TSIBAMS Chapter 3
by VolareChapter 3
It wasn’t until noon the next day that Ye Xing woke up to a phone call. He groggily pressed the answer button, “Hello.”
“How is it? Are you getting used to living there?” Fang Rong asked.
“There’s nothing here, Mom. Are you sure you didn’t send me to participate in ‘Transformation’?” Ye Xing still had his eyes closed.
“You must be still half-asleep, talking nonsense. Get up and buy some daily necessities, don’t delay. Monday is tomorrow, remember to go to school to register. All the procedures are done, you just go directly. I’ll send you the address later.” Fang Rong wasn’t in the mood to joke with him, seriously explaining things one by one.
“Oh, there are so many things I need. I don’t know if the money you gave me is enough.” Ye Xing was still in a daze, muttering to himself.
“Use it sparingly, things are not that expensive in small places. By the way, it also includes your food expenses for this month. Don’t spend money as freely as before, understand?” Fang Rong said.
“Huh???” Ye Xing was now fully awake. He was starting to firmly believe that he had been tricked into participating in “Transformation”, and maybe the house was full of hidden cameras.
Good thing he didn’t run around naked at home yesterday!
There was a lot of noise on the other end of the phone, and Fang Rong hung up in a hurry after saying goodbye.
Ye Xing checked the time, 12:15 PM. He must have been dead asleep last night.
There were a few unread messages, sent by that kid Zhou Tian. At 8:00 AM, he sent a message asking if he wanted to go to his house for breakfast, and at 8:30 AM, he sent a rolling eyes emoji.
Ye Xing replied to him, “Which floor is your house on? I’ll send your quilt back to you.”
After clicking send, he put down his phone and rushed to the bathroom to pee, holding it in for so long really hurt little Ye Xing.
He didn’t have a toothbrush or toothpaste, so he could only make do with rinsing his mouth with water. He also washed his face with water. Ye Xing looked at himself in the mirror. His clothes were all wrinkled from sleeping in them all night, his eyes were swollen, and his hair was a mess…
Luckily, he had good looks to back him up.
Ye Xing tilted his head, gave a very chuuni-like smirk in the mirror, and used his right hand to push his bangs back.
Even if it’s “Transformation”, he would be the center of attention!
Knock, knock, knock!
At this moment, there was a knock on the door. He didn’t even need to think to know who it was. Ye Xing opened the door, “What a coincidence, I’ve seen you three times in two days.”
Zhou Tian didn’t notice Ye Xing’s deliberately sarcastic tone at all, and said good morning with a grin.
“Didn’t I say I’d send the quilt back to you?” Ye Xing moved aside to let Zhou Tian in.
Zhou Tian didn’t treat himself like an outsider at all, walking straight into the living room and sitting on the sofa, “I replied to your message, but you didn’t respond. I thought you had fallen asleep again. Anyway, it’s not far. You’re on the third floor, I’m on the second, just a few steps away.”
Ye Xing was quite sure that if Zhou Tian was a girl, he would be the clingy and demanding type, who would explode if his messages weren’t replied to instantly, consider not answering the phone equal to breaking up, and occasionally transform into Sherlock Holmes to monitor his boyfriend 24/7. Yikes, just thinking about it sent shivers down his spine. Ye Xing had always hated romance stories, either the two people were all lovey-dovey or they were constantly making trouble, it was just so boring.
And that’s why he’s always been clueless about love.
Even though he had received a bunch of love letters and confessions, he still didn’t feel like being all lovey-dovey with anyone.
“My mom cooked an extra egg. You haven’t eaten breakfast yet, right? I brought one for you.” As he said this, Zhou Tian pulled out an egg from his pocket like a magic trick.
“No! Please thank your aunt for me, but I don’t eat eggs!” Ye Xing opened his suitcase, pulled out some clothes and pants, and headed towards the bathroom.
“Oh, you don’t eat it? Then you don’t eat it. Why are you walking away?” Zhou Tian put the egg back in his pocket.
“I’m going to the bathroom to change clothes!” Ye Xing walked to the bathroom with his clothes, thinking, what a pain in the ass! This guy would definitely be the president of the student council at school, controlling everything, almost like he was in charge of people’s bowel movements and farts.
“What a pain in the ass, why are you changing clothes in the bathroom? We’re all guys, everyone has the same thing, don’t you?”
Damn it, what kind of world is this? This pain in the ass was complaining about others being a pain in the ass?
“Hey! Tricycle!” Ye Xing stopped a tricycle, helped Zhou Tian on, and then forgot the place he said earlier, turning his head to look at him again.
Zhou Tian said to the tricycle driver, “Fumin Road!”
Oh, the name sounds like it would be a very wealthy place.
“Is this the most bustling street here?” Ye Xing asked.
“Yeah, you could say that.”
“Are there any good places to eat? I’m starving!” Ye Xing rubbed his stomach, it had been wronged these past two days.
“What do you want to eat? Barbecue, grilled fish, and hot pot are all available. Oh, there’s a place with particularly good teppanyaki fried rice. I used to walk all the way there just to get it to go…” Zhou Tian said while pondering what good food there was.
“Then let’s get teppanyaki fried rice!” Ye Xing was too lazy to think, and decided right away.
“Okay!” Zhou Tian said.
After getting out of the car, Ye Xing rushed to pay the fare. Zhou Tian wanted to haggle a bit, but Ye Xing blocked him behind him.
Although the restaurant only occupied one floor, its area was much larger than a typical restaurant. It was lunchtime, and it was bustling with people.
“I thought it was a small eatery, I didn’t expect it to be so big.” Ye Xing said as he walked inside, looking for an empty seat.
“At first, it was indeed just a small shop, only three tables. But their business was good, and they are the only place in the whole Chen Town that makes teppanyaki fried rice. Every mealtime, those three tables were not enough, so the shop got bigger and bigger.” Zhou Tian saw a couple at the corner getting up after finishing their meal, and quickly pulled Ye Xing over to grab the table.
After sitting down, Ye Xing pushed the tableware left by the previous customer away in disgust and pulled out a piece of paper to wipe the table in front of him.
Zhou Tian curled his lips, “Germaphobe!”
“If I were a germaphobe, I wouldn’t come here, understand hygiene?” Ye Xing didn’t even look up.
Zhou Tian was about to retort back when suddenly his eyes lit up, and he raised his hand to wave towards the cashier, “Hey hey! Qi Guang!! Over here!”
Ye Xing followed his gaze. A tall and thin boy was talking to a customer at the cashier. Hearing the sound, he turned his head. Big eyes, slightly downturned tail of the eyes, and a smiling mouth showing a row of neat teeth.
Wow, he’s quite good-looking. If he was a talent scout, he would definitely force him to sign a contract immediately.
But not every BMW will meet their talent scout.
This unknown small town seemed especially suitable for crushing dreams.
When Ye Xing was feeling regretful in his heart for someone so good-looking who didn’t have a good life, he suddenly felt that the person looked extremely familiar.
That slender figure, those slightly downturned eyes…
Wasn’t that the skateboarder from last night who fell from the sky?!
Yesterday, this person first crashed into him, and then inexplicably helped him pay the taxi fare. By the time Ye Xing had reacted, the other person had already turned into a distant figure disappearing at the street corner.
His name was Qi Guang?
As bright as the sun and moon?
Truly literary, yet simple, crude, arrogant, and domineering.
Qi Guang walked over to greet them. Zhou Tian stood up and put his hand on his shoulder, “Are you here to help again today?”
Ye Xing gasped, not knowing what kind of role he should play at this moment.
But it seemed that besides the role of a debtor, there weren’t many other options.
He sat there awkwardly, hoping that the heavens would sense his sincerity and make him invisible for a second.
“Yeah, it’s busier on weekends.” Qi Guang bent down to clear the dishes, very subtly pushing Zhou Tian’s hand away.
But Zhou Tian, who was immune to awkwardness, would never notice anything subtle, cheerfully helping to clear the dishes.
“Oh, I forgot to introduce you guys. This is my classmate and deskmate, Qi Guang.” Zhou Tian introduced him to Ye Xing.
Only then did Qi Guang notice that there was someone sitting across from Zhou Tian. He didn’t make a sound at first, so he thought they were just sharing a table.
“This is my new neighbor, Ye Xing. He just moved here yesterday,” Zhou Tian said, and then turned to Ye Xing and asked, “Hey, yesterday you said you were at Chen Town Middle School, what grade were you in? Which class?”
“Second year of high school, don’t know which class.” After answering his question, Ye Xing added to Qi Guang, “Hello.”
“Hello.” Qi Guang politely raised his head to greet him while wiping the table, his gaze not lingering.
Looks like he didn’t recognize him!
“What a coincidence! We’re also in the second year of high school. With such fate, we might even be in the same class!” Zhou Tian said.
Forget it, bad luck. Ye Xing added in his mind.
After they finished eating, most of the people in the restaurant had left, finally making it a bit quieter. Ye Xing said that to “thank him for lending the quilt last night” he would pay for this meal. Zhou Tian, who was engrossed in playing Dou Di Zhu on his phone, waved his hand, “Go ahead, thank you, daddy.”
Qi Guang was writing something seriously at the cashier, shrouded in an aura of “strangers stay away,” not noticing that someone was standing in front of him.
Ye Xing was a little curious about what he was writing so intently, so he stretched his neck slightly.
Holy crap, what a weirdo, he was actually doing his homework!
Ye Xing tapped on the table with his phone and coughed lightly.
Qi Guang raised his head. His mind was probably still full of formulas, and his eyes were a little dazed, but he returned to normal after a second.
“How much is that table?” Ye Xing’s head tilted in the direction of Zhou Tian.
“Two plates of fried rice, two cans of cola, 32 yuan.” Qi Guang glanced at the corner and answered casually.
Qi Guang still didn’t recognize him, and Ye Xing suddenly felt a bit insecure about his looks.
Did he have a common-looking face?
Ye Xing opened WeChat, scanned the code on the table, and after successfully paying, he asked again, “Is this WeChat code yours?”
“No, it’s my uncle’s.” After Qi Guang answered, he saw a customer come in and picked up a rag to clean the tables.
He had failed to get the other party’s attention numerous times, and Ye Xing was a bit dejected.
Qi Guang, who came back after cleaning, found that Ye Xing was still standing there and hadn’t left.
Did he need a receipt?
Qi Guang frowned slightly.
“Then what’s your WeChat?” Ye Xing decided not to beat around the bush, but adding someone on WeChat was extremely embarrassing for him. To cover up his unnatural expression, he wasn’t facing Qi Guang when he said this, and his eyes didn’t know where to look.
“Mine?” Only then did Qi Guang seriously examine the person in front of him. He was about the same height as him, with single eyelids and a high nose bridge. He seemed a little familiar, but he didn’t know anyone with single eyelids who was also this handsome. And looking at his clothes, he wasn’t from here either, and these sneakers…
This person even had a girly band-aid on his ankle! What kind of fetish was that?
Ankle?
Only then did Qi Guang remember, wasn’t this the unlucky bastard he had crashed into last night?
Just thinking about how his ass still hurt!
Qi Guang’s gaze returned to his face – asking him for his WeChat with such an arrogant attitude?
Confirmed, he was indeed the same arrogant unlucky bastard from yesterday.
He deserved to be crashed into!
“So you came to apologize, that’s pretty sincere, daddy forgives you.” Qi Guang looked at him.
“No,” Ye Xing turned his face back, trying his best to resist the urge to roll his eyes. “Hey, Qi Guang classmate, would it kill you to not take advantage of people? What’s your WeChat, I’ll transfer twenty yuan to you!”
“My WeChat is worth more than twenty yuan.” Qi Guang tilted his head, his mouth pulling into a fake smile.
Zhou Tian finished playing Dou Di Zhu, and when he saw the commotion over there, he came over, “What are you guys talking about so excitedly?”
Ye Xing successfully rolled his eyes, “Let’s go!”
Zhou Tian followed behind Ye Xing with a confused expression, while also saying goodbye to Qi Guang.
As they reached the door, a big motorcycle stopped with a cloud of dust, and a fashionable girl got off.
A large trench coat, big waves, and bright red lipstick, making the street instantly turn into a gray backdrop, she was the most eye-catching.
“Xiaoyun!” This kid Zhou Tian’s eyes started to shine again, even brighter than when he saw Qi Guang.
The girl called Xiaoyun parked her car, “Just finished eating? Did you see Qi Guang?”
“He’s inside!” Zhou Tian pointed towards the cashier.
“Alright, I’ll go in, let’s hang out next time.” Yun Yun walked into the store, leaving behind a dashing figure waving her trench coat.
Ye Xing couldn’t help but laugh, seeing Zhou Tian’s reluctant gaze, “This girl is pretty cool!”
“Of course, Xiaoyun-jie is the school beauty of our Chen Town Middle School!” Zhou Tian said proudly, as if he was talking about his own girl.
“Xiaoyun? Is that her name?” Ye Xing asked.
“Yeah, Shuai Xiaoyun. Her surname is Shuai, have you never seen it before?” The pride on Zhou Tian’s face didn’t decrease.
“I’ve really never seen it, this surname comes with a buff.” Ye Xing was very accommodating to Zhou Tian.
“Hey, I lost at the starting line. If I had this surname, I would be called Shuai Tian, no, no, Shuai Fang Tian!” Zhou Tian proudly changed his own surname.
“Okay, okay, classmate Shuai Fantian, may we go to the supermarket now?” Ye Xing grabbed Zhou Tian’s collar and turned his head, which was still fixed on the direction of the store. He also unintentionally glanced inside.
Shuai Xiaoyun was chatting with Qi Guang, her hand naturally on his shoulder. Unlike Zhou Tian’s reaction when he touched him, Qi Guang didn’t seem to mind at all.
The two of them were both tall, and they actually looked a bit compatible standing together, but Shuai Xiaoyun was clearly dressed much more maturely. And she was actually a high school student. You really couldn’t tell. Just her hairstyle alone, if she was at his old school, she would be blatantly provoking the principal.
But he was used to being undisciplined and lawless himself, so why should he care about other people’s business?
