Chapter 127: The H War and Reactions from All Sides

The man thought his words would certainly make Gu Jinsheng apprehensive, especially since the Jing Shi Base now housed many foreign residents.

However, he was mistaken. Gu Jinsheng was forever Gu Jinsheng. With thin lips, he spoke, “As you wish.”

Not needing to say another word, dozens of mecha Power Users descended from the sky. In front of these massive mechas, these Power Users had no power to resist whatsoever and were easily subdued. They were tied up like candied haws on a stick and tossed out of the Jing Shi Base into mid-air.

The Power Users driving the mechas were even kind enough to check the original nationality of these people and then sent them back to their original countries.

It was interesting that the man who had been shouting the loudest just now was originally from Country R.

When the man was thrown back onto that familiar yet strange land, he was stunned.

Country R had long been ruled by cloned people. When Cloned Person Kobayashi Ten killed Kobayashi Ichiro to avenge Cloned Person Kobayashi Eleven, Kobayashi Ten released all the cloned people, and the R Base was officially ruled by cloned people, becoming a base exclusively for cloned people.

In the blink of an eye, the mechas belonging to the Jing Shi Base disappeared from view. The man was still in a daze when countless cloned people with identical appearances flooded out from somewhere.

They were so similar that even their facial expressions were the same. These cloned people held handguns, and the black muzzles were aimed at the man.

The man’s heart pounded as if it would jump out of his throat, his throat dry and tight.

“Listen, can you understand human words? I’m telling you, I’m a resident of the Jing Shi Base, I’m from Xia Country. If you dare to touch a single hair on my head, you’re finished. The Jing Shi Base and Gu Jinsheng will absolutely not let this go!” The man bluffed menacingly, a stark contrast to the righteous and fearless image he had just displayed at the command department entrance.

One of the cloned people turned slightly to look behind him, where stood a cloned person who looked exactly like the former General Commander of the R Base, Kobayashi Ichiro.

This cloned person was precisely Kobayashi Ten.

“The one who just threw you down was the mecha from the Jing Shi Base, right?” Kobayashi Ten coldly stared at the man, his icy eyes seemingly devoid of human emotion.

“Unfortunately, I happened to be watching the Jing Shi Base’s live broadcast just now. I saw you. Your speech was very exciting.” Kobayashi Ten’s voice was always monotone, without any fluctuations. The man had no way of judging whether Kobayashi Ten was genuinely praising him or being sarcastic.

Luckily, Kobayashi Ten didn’t let the man continue guessing. “However, I’m sorry, humans are not welcome here. This is a base for cloned people. So, although I greatly appreciate your speech, please leave here immediately.”

After Kobayashi Ten finished speaking, he turned and left. The man watched Kobayashi Ten’s retreating back and felt something was wrong, a pervasive sense of ominous foreboding and panic in his heart.

The man tried his best to treat the cloned people as he would ordinary humans, so as not to provoke them.

“I need to go back to the Jing Shi Base, but as you know, I can’t possibly walk back on foot. I wonder if you could send a hovercar to take me back.” The man’s eyes were filled with anticipation.

Kobayashi Ten’s steps did not stop as he stood with his back to the man, and he held up three fingers.

“The clone base does not welcome any humans. The guest is asked to leave in three seconds, otherwise, they will be treated as provocative unwanted guests and dealt with.”

Kobayashi Ten continued in his flat voice, “Three, two…”

Only then did the man understand why his heart had been pounding. Unless he had a hovercar or a mecha, how could he possibly leave the R Base within three counts? This was clearly a demand for his life.

Unfortunately, the man understood too late. As the last number fell, a laser shot towards the man’s chest. The man looked at the green dot that pierced through his body and shot at his feet, not understanding how he had ended up like this after going through so much trouble to gain Xia Country nationality, which should have guaranteed him a stable life free from zombie attacks.

With a thump, the man’s body fell.

A trace of cold sneer appeared in Kobayashi Ten’s icy eyes. “Idiot, you have always been the ones who needed the Jing Shi Base, not the Jing Shi Base needing you.”

Gu Jinsheng had always had a firm hand and was never a moderate.

Thousands of protesters being thrown out of the Jing Shi Base quickly sobered up many people who had been scared stiff by the H War.

They finally remembered Gu Jinsheng’s temper – he would expel them from the safe haven of the Jing Shi Base if things didn’t go his way. This made things much quieter. There was also a small portion of people who felt that since the Jing Shi Base was the place where M Base dropped the H weapon, then any other corner of the world would be safer than the Jing Shi Base.

Many people clamored to leave the Jing Shi Base. “I want to leave here, let me out, this is my legitimate right as a citizen.”

These people caused a scene, demanding that the base gate be opened to let them go.

The guards on duty, unable to bear watching them make such a mistake, earnestly advised them, “Dean Ji will have a solution, and besides, Commander Gu is here. What are you afraid of?”

“I’m not stupid. They have mechas and hovercars. If it comes to that, they can just get on their mechas and hovercars and escape, leaving us ordinary people behind to be buried.”

The guards found it so difficult to communicate with these people.

“Old Zhang, we just received an order from Commander-in-Chief Gu: cancel their nationality and let them leave.”

Old Zhang sighed, knowing he couldn’t help these people anymore. He collected their Xia Country nationality cards and let them walk out of the city gate.

Charles of M Base closely monitored the movements of the Jing Shi Base and was furious to find that this move did not affect the Jing Shi Base.

“Gu Jinsheng is indeed a hypocritical and cunning fellow. He usually talks about democracy and civil rights, but whenever it comes down to it, the people’s opinions don’t matter.”

Charles’ eyes were sinister. “Since he is heartless, don’t blame me for being unjust.”

    “Launch the missile!”

The other high-ranking officials exchanged glances, not expecting Charles to be so self-willed as to actually launch the H War just like that.

One high-ranking official braved himself and said, “Commander-in-Chief Charles, our goal is immigration. Do you think we should reconfirm with the Jing Shi Base side? If the Jing Shi Base still refuses to accept our immigration terms even after knowing that we are about to take a hard stance, then it won’t be too late to launch the missile.”

Charles sneered, “What do you know? It’s all about taking them by surprise. Only by giving Gu Jinsheng a profound lesson will he understand what fear is and truly realize the power and invincibility of M Base. Beat him into submission, and he will become obedient.”

“Transmit my order: Launch the missile towards the Jing Shi Base immediately!”

Charles’s madness knew no bounds; he went crazy whenever he wanted to. The researchers were helpless.

Speaking of which, given how crazy Charles was, why would Gu Jinsheng provoke him!

“Bad news! Charles has already ordered the launch of a missile towards the Jing Shi Base!” Owen’s Smart Brain beeped, and an encrypted communication appeared on Owen’s Smart Brain.

Ji An immediately ordered, “Capture and intercept with full force! Make sure to intercept it outside Xia Country’s borders.”

    “Yes,” the researcher replied resolutely.

All personnel became busy, and the atmosphere in the entire operation room became serious and tense.

Although Gu Jinsheng and other high-ranking officials couldn’t quite understand the dense code on the console, their eyes were fixed on it.

At the same time, all personnel in Xia Country received this message reminder on their communication devices.

Even though the public knew, they could do nothing. Many knelt down, sincerely praying to heaven, asking for blessings to safely get through this calamity.

And those who had quickly left and returned to their original countries heard this news through certain channels and couldn’t help but gloat.

One of the Power Users from Pickle Country who had just left the Jing Shi Base laughed and said, “Serves him right! Let Gu Jinsheng be arrogant! Now look, he’s provoked that lunatic Charles, and the Jing Shi Base is just waiting to become a radioactive ruin!”

It wasn’t just these returnees from Pickle Country who were happy, but also the delegations who had previously visited the Jing Shi Base as representatives.

The humiliation that the Jing Shi Base inflicted on these people was always remembered by the people of Pickle Country, but they lacked the strength to retaliate. Seeing the Jing Shi Base about to suffer misfortune, they were overjoyed.

“What’s so great about Xia Country? They just got lucky. The powerful M Country will be the ultimate winner. Only by relying on M Country can one survive in this difficult apocalypse. Xia Country’s attempt to suppress M Country is simply a pipe dream.”

“Opposing the powerful M Country is courting death. This is the consequence!”

It wasn’t only Pickle Country that had such thoughts; T Base was the same.

In the early days of the apocalypse, T Base denied their Xia Country nationality and sided with M Base to eke out a living. Later, as the Jing Shi Base grew stronger day by day, T Base didn’t fail to consider changing sides and returning to Xia Country’s embrace, but by then, they had completely offended the Jing Shi Base and couldn’t go back.

Now that they knew M Base was going to launch an H War against the Jing Shi Base, they were extremely happy and even felt lucky that they hadn’t returned to Xia Country.

Not all people from T Country were like this; many felt the sadness of a rabbit dying when a fox is trapped and silently prayed for Xia Country.

Gou Chong kept his promise from back then; even though the Jing Shi Base was as prosperous as it is now, he did not enter West City. Seeing the message on his communication device, he was lost in thought.

Gou Chong looked towards the direction of the command department from afar, his eyes filled with worry.

“Don’t worry, everything is fate. It’s not a bad thing for everyone to die together in this terrible world,” Father Gou comforted, patting his son’s shoulder.

Gou Chong did not answer, his gaze still fixed on the distance.

“You’re worried about that Deputy Commander Zhou, aren’t you?” Father Gou sighed. “Our family has dragged you down. If it weren’t for us, you should be by that Deputy Commander Zhou’s side fighting alongside him now.”

“There’s no need to say that. That was my choice back then. I don’t regret it.” Gou Chong was just a little worried about that person. He had secretly sworn in his heart that since he chose to betray, he would forget, but when the moment came, he couldn’t help but worry about him.

“Captured it!” In the operation room, the surprised voice of a researcher came.

Ji An leaned over, “Immediately implement the interception! We must ensure it is intercepted outside Xia Country’s territory.”

    “Yes,” the researcher replied firmly.
