Chapter 43: Chapter 43: Thoroughly Marked

The pitch-black tendrils propped up an almost silent space. Even the sound of the wind had disappeared from Serra’s ears. The only sound he could hear was his own rough and trembling breathing.

    He shouldn’t be doing this.

His teeth were buried deep in the black-haired female Chong’s nape. The shriveled gland was filled with saliva overflowing from the tips of his teeth, like a ripe berry bursting with juice, emitting an almost rotten, bloody smell.

Edwin’s painful hiss was almost imperceptible. His body, already losing temperature, spasmed in Serra’s arms. The completely unfamiliar, internal invasion and contamination made every cell in his body tremble. Female Chong are very tolerant of pain. Edwin, as a military female Chong, was especially so. But he had not anticipated that at the moment of his life’s dissipation, when he was at his weakest, he would endure this incomprehensible suffering. The terrifying instinct of being touched, of being violated from the inside out, made him lose all defense. Large tears fell from the corners of his eyes. On his pale face, the disappearing Chong Texture reappeared, his bewilderment making him like a deer shot by a hunter, completely vulnerable.

The black-haired female Chong’s innocence and pain were enough to move any creature. However, the “cub,” whom he held tightly in his arms and cherished so much, only increased the force locking his body in place. Like a cheetah on the hunt, he buried his fangs deep into the prey’s nape, swallowing the blood that flowed from the prey’s terrified tremors.

    Rustle–rustle–

The serpentine black tendrils eroded the space, piling up like mountains around Serra and Edwin. They rolled and wrestled with themselves, the serpentine shapes sprouting sharp branches, emitting corrosive energy fluid. But they stopped a meter away from Serra, as if they were afraid of something, and ultimately did not advance an inch.

And Serra’s caramel-colored eyes turned into golden vertical pupils. He stared intently at Edwin’s forcibly exposed neck. Blood and saliva mixed, sliding from the corner of his lips, winding and flowing onto Edwin’s pale skin. His newly transformed hands held Edwin’s chest with one hand and grasped Edwin’s blood-stained lower back with the other. His fingertips sank in too deeply. He wasn’t sure if he had left marks on Edwin’s already excessively damaged body.

The prey under his palms was wailing, shaking tears onto Serra’s arm. Serra suddenly stiffened. His eyes, which had turned into vertical pupils at some point, trembled for a moment, regaining a bit of clarity and making him realize how unbearable the scene before him was.

    Wrong, this is wrong–

Serra was almost about to let go, but his biological instinct screamed wildly in his mind, making his eyes, which had briefly regained consciousness, become chaotic again.

Don’t you want to save Edwin? This is the only way, this is the right way.

Mark him, contaminate him, make him yours, so that he will never, ever leave.

Every inch of Serra’s skin trembled with the joy of having his possessiveness satisfied. He knew he was close to succeeding. He could feel everything about Edwin, his exterior, his interior. He could feel his male Chong genes, mental energy, and glandular fluid seeping into Edwin’s blood vessels, causing the female Chong’s slightly cold blood to boil again. He could feel his power permeating Edwin’s riddled body. They were repairing Edwin’s body, but they were also arrogantly marking their territory. And both he and Edwin knew that after this repair in the name of salvation, Edwin would no longer be the original Edwin.

His body, even part of his will, would become Serra’s trophy, bowing to the male Chong’s “God strength” and “grace.”

This wasn’t fair, this wasn’t right, this was against Edwin’s will, and against everything Serra believed in.

But Serra couldn’t stop his actions. Along with the conscience and sorrow that were tearing him apart inside, his satiety permeated from every inch of his skin. He had never so completely, so clearly possessed Edwin, possessed the female Chong he had carefully cherished for so long. His biological instinct was an untrained beast, rudely drenching the female Chong from head to toe in his scent, and feeling immense satisfaction for it. And those gains and losses, those fears, sorrows, suffocations, and pains that arose whenever he saw Edwin injured or dying, were smoothed over by the tide of satisfaction.

The feeling of possessing Edwin was wonderful, unprecedentedly wonderful. Serra’s lips sucked away the plasma overflowing from Edwin’s wound, gently licking Edwin’s lower lip. The blood moistened the female Chong’s almost pale lips with a bright scarlet color. He opened his eyes wide, looking at the black dome that enveloped him, and fear was nowhere to hide in a pair of clear blue eyes, shattering into fragments of light.

He didn’t know what was happening. Excessive pain and tremors caused his thinking to regress severely, like a fragile and ignorant larva. He vaguely knew that he had to escape, escape from the control that frightened him and that he couldn’t shake, escape from here, otherwise he would become crushed prey, otherwise he would cease to exist.

Edwin began to struggle, his injured legs kicking on the ground, his knees hitting Serra’s legs several times. But that strength was ridiculously small for the female Chong. Even for an ordinary male Chong’s body, it could only leave bruises, more like a product to increase the hunter’s interest and amusement for the prey.

Serra only frowned slightly. His body radiated a fever of desire. The steel-whip-like black tail hook circled and circled, wrapping around the female Chong’s clothes-torn thighs, layer upon layer. Serra knew that only the last step remained. He had to fuse a large amount of genes into Edwin’s body. He wanted to mark everything about Edwin as his own, declaring his ownership to all creatures, male Chong, female Chong, or Yaci.

He would completely possess Edwin. This degenerate sense of sin made his soul tremble, and a trace of remorseful tears slid from the corner of his eye inadvertently.

The fear had completely seized Edwin in his arms. He couldn’t escape. The tail hook on his thigh was getting tighter and tighter. His calves kicked spasmodically, like a dying deer twitching its weak legs. He was so weak that he disgusted himself. He knew in his mind that something even more terrible was about to come, bringing results that he could not bear. He began to scream shamelessly. His perfectly shaped lips, dotted with crimson blood, opened, murmuring words that he himself couldn’t understand:

    “Danger… Go, go away! Don’t… Woo… Don’t!”

“Marshal… Quick, shut up, don’t say… the church, danger… Young Male Master, run! Don’t–”

    “I… Woo… Can’t protect, Young Male Master anymore… I’m a, terrible… Male parent. I’m sorry……”

    “……”

The trembling murmurs continued, like the uncontrollable whispers of a tortured cub. Serra’s action of licking Edwin’s blood suddenly froze. His golden vertical pupils suddenly trembled, and the pitch-black pupils, cracked like an abyss, trembled and enlarged, turning back into soft caramel color amidst the trembling. A look of extreme heartache and bewilderment appeared on his handsome, youthful face. The limbs that had been tightly wrapped around Edwin relaxed slightly.

But he still couldn’t let go of Edwin. His tail hook was also unwilling to relax, still tightly wrapped around Edwin’s legs. Serra reached out and gently wiped away the terrified tears from the corners of Edwin’s eyes, suddenly feeling incredibly disgusted with what he had done, even if he was saving Edwin.

He was too invested–far more invested than he should have been. All his senses were immersed in the satisfaction of invading Edwin’s space and couldn’t extricate themselves. He felt better than ever before, but it made Edwin suffer so much–that sinful sense of satiety and his selfishness shattered Edwin. After Edwin had done everything for him, when Edwin never showed cowardice in the face of his enemies, he was actually the “cub” that Edwin loved and protected, completely defeating Edwin.

And in the confused whispers, Edwin was still apologizing to his “cub.”

Serra felt disgusted with his own satisfaction. He also felt disgusted with his next actions.

He lowered his eyes, which had regained their sanity, gently pressed his lips to Edwin’s sweat-covered forehead, hugged Edwin as gently as possible, and whispered:

“Hush–Male parent, I’m here, we’re safe. Meeting Male parent is the luckiest thing in my life–I love you, Male parent, I’m sorry.”

    “I’m sorry, Male parent…… I’m sorry, don’t forgive me. It’s okay, it’s okay, it’ll be… It’ll be over soon.”

Through his tears, he saw Edwin slowly calm down in his calls of “Male parent,” looking at him with a pair of glassy, watery, bewildered eyes, as if through him, through layers of pain, he was looking at that soft, chubby, curly-haired cub who opened his arms for a hug.

Serra closed his eyes hard, tears sliding from the corners of his eyes. But when he opened his eyes again, the sorrowful pity had faded from his eyes.

The hunter pierced the prey with a sharp blade.

    *

When the surging black tendrils returned to calm, the faint light of dawn once again shrouded the Duke’s Mansion’s territory. Sison and the remaining Chong slowly gathered together.

Most of their injuries had been simply treated by Prince Ilotte and his attendants, who had groped into the ruins with simple supplies. However, the damage to the mental sea after the battle could not be alleviated. Weakness overflowed from the face of every Chong. Sison patted Elun’s shoulder, who was sitting beside his Male parent Emino, and slowly approached the direction where the black tendrils had converged.

The front hall, main wing, and reception hall of the Duke’s Mansion were almost destroyed by the energy waves. The originally large musical fountain was razed to the ground. A strange male Chong with brown curly hair, simply draped in a robe, was holding Edwin, who was motionless, standing in the ruins, his face lowered, his eyes lingering on Edwin’s unconscious pale face.

“Young Male Master?” Sison asked, “Edwin, he…” Sison was almost showing a sad expression. He knew how badly Edwin was injured. In fact, he didn’t think that injecting male Chong pheromones or the Young Male Master’s mental tendrils could be effective on Edwin’s seriously injured and dying body.

The pitch-black tendrils rolled around them, covering the sky above the Duke’s Mansion. After the initial fear, most of the female Chong and Yaci in the Duke’s Mansion actually felt at ease. They were familiar with the Young Male Master’s mental tendrils, and had seen its power. With him here, neither the Male Protection Association nor the church could reap their lives.

Ironically, who would have thought that the mental tendrils that male Chong always used to plunder female Chong and Yaci would one day become their shelter.

But Sison felt that the black tendrils might be mourning.

He had seen how the tendrils wrapped around the dying Edwin, how they devoured him. He knew how much the Young Male Master cared about Edwin. He didn’t think the Young Male Master could bear the pain of loss.

He cautiously approached the strange-looking young male Chong. His sad face was replaced by surprise. He smelled the entangled bloody smell. Edwin’s clean aura was stained with a trace of rotten turbidity, like burning leather and bourbon. Sison was not an ignorant young female Chong. He instantly realized what had happened. Serra also raised his reddened eyes, and the shame and apology in his eyes were almost impossible to hide:

“Sison, he–he was too badly injured. I had no better way. I–”

“…Him still being alive is the best result. It’s the Mother Goddess’s gift. The Young Male Master should be happy.”

Sison suppressed his surprise and absurdity, and still couldn’t help but be happy for Edwin’s survival. He had to admit that when he learned that the Young Male Master had marked Edwin, he felt very strange. After all, the image of the Young Male Master holding Edwin’s neck with his chubby little hands was still vivid in his mind. Even though he knew that the Young Male Master’s age wasn’t that of a true cub, the female Chong inevitably deceived themselves visually, and over time, they truly accepted the relationship between Edwin and the Young Male Master as Male parent and male child.

Now, looking at Edwin being carried horizontally in the Young Male Master’s arms, and the Young Male Master growing from a short, chubby cub into a tall, upright young male Chong who far surpassed other male Chong in height, Sison felt indescribably strange–but that didn’t affect his joy at Edwin’s survival. For him, Edwin was a former colleague, his close friend, and his comrade-in-arms. For them, military female Chong who lived on the front lines of life and death, nothing was greater than life and death.

There was nothing he couldn’t accept, or parts that he could question.

    “…Thank you, Sison.”

Serra’s face softened a little, but guilt didn’t leave his eyes. He himself knew how unbearable what he had done was, even if it was hidden behind the life-saving act.

“I will provide mental treatment for the other female Chong and Yaci. You–”

“Young Male Master, let’s not talk about these things for now. Prince Ilotte said that the Chong of the Male Protection Association are about to arrive. The church… I’m afraid they won’t let this go.”
