MLROCSHR Chapter 100
by VolareChapter 100: Marry Me Tomorrow
Qi Luzhi supported himself on the floor with both hands, struggling to sit up. Blood droplets dripped from between his fingers, blossoming into tiny red flowers on the broken glass.
His body trembled slightly as he looked at Lian Xun with immense pain in his eyes.
“Lian Xun, you see, I’m just a useless cripple now, I can’t even pour a glass of water.”
“No, that’s not true.” Lian Xun shook his head, feeling only a surge of soreness and pain in his chest.
Qi Luzhi lowered his eyes, summoning all his courage to slowly say, “I’m afraid my remaining years will be like this, a worthless cripple with nothing and with crippled legs.”
“No one can stay with someone like this for a lifetime. Rather than waiting until you’re tired and weary, and we both end up in a mess, it’s better to let go now. Lian Xun, you… deserve someone better.”
After saying these words, Qi Luzhi couldn’t control his trembling any longer. His heart felt like it was being torn apart, a bloody mess.
Lian Xun stared blankly at the person before him, his well-defined fingers clenching into fists at his sides.
“Then what do you mean now? Are you trying to say you don’t love me anymore? So you’re using such a clumsy excuse to drive me away?”
“I…”
Qi Luzhi’s throat bobbed twice, and he opened his mouth several times, but couldn’t utter a single word.
“Qi Luzhi, say something!” Lian Xun roared, pain spreading in the depths of his scarlet eyes.
Qi Luzhi supported himself on the floor and shrank back, not daring to meet Lian Xun’s gaze.
After a suffocating silence, Lian Xun suddenly lunged forward, grabbing Qi Luzhi’s wrist and pressing him down onto the ground.
In Qi Luzhi’s panicked and puzzled gaze, Lian Xun reached out and suddenly plunged his hand into his collar, giving it a sharp tug. The crisp sound of a snapping metal chain exploded in his ears.
Spreading his palm open, two platinum rings inlaid with sapphires appeared in his palm, the initials of their names engraved on the inside of the ring bands.
Qi Luzhi struggled violently as if burned, “Let go of me.”
“I won’t.” Lian Xun straddled him, holding his shoulders down tightly, and presented the rings to his eyes.
“Let me let go? Then tell me what this is? It’s the engagement ring you personally made for me, right? You’ve been wearing it close to your body every day, why haven’t you given it to me?”
“You said you would marry me, do you want to go back on your word now? No way!”
Lian Xun picked up a ring band and slipped it onto his own ring finger, then forcibly put the other ring on Qi Luzhi’s hand, interlocking his fingers tightly with his.
“With this ring on, I’m yours. Don’t even think about getting rid of me in this lifetime.”
The low, slightly crazy and obsessive murmur rang in his ears. Qi Luzhi raised his head, and a drop of scalding liquid fell onto his chapped lips.
He stared blankly at Lian Xun’s red-rimmed eyes, which reflected his own disheveled image, as well as the thick, unyielding love and possessiveness.
Lian Xun suddenly leaned down again and bit hard on the side of his neck.
The piercing pain spread across his skin, but a strange emotion arose in his heart, as if the repression of many days had finally found an outlet for release. The more it hurt, the more exhilarating it felt.
After a long while, the person on top of him released his mouth, buried his head deeply in his neck, and his shoulders trembled violently.
“Qi Luzhi, you can’t abandon me.”
This choked plea, containing heart-wrenching pain, completely shattered the last line of defense in Qi Luzhi’s heart.
He opened his arms and hugged Lian Xun tightly, tears suddenly gushing out of his eyes and disappearing into the hair at his temples.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I won’t say it again, I won’t ever say it again. I didn’t abandon you, you don’t know how much I want to be with you for the rest of my life, never to be apart.” Qi Luzhi kissed the top of Lian Xun’s head lightly, his tone full of remorse.
He was only concerned with immersing himself in his own pain, self-righteously trying to push Lian Xun away from him, but he forgot how Lian Xun felt.
Those words of his were not only torturing his own heart, but also devaluing Lian Xun’s love.
It was his fault for making Lian Xun so sad and upset.
He was wrong, terribly wrong.
The hurtful words had already been spoken, and no amount of sweet talk could make up for the wounds, but he still had to say it.
“Lian Xun, I love you, even if the heavens and earth collapse and the stars fall, I will never stop loving you.”
This was not a light and airy oath, but all of Qi Luzhi’s sincerity.
“Okay, then let’s get married tomorrow.” Lian Xun suddenly raised his head, his watery eyes staring straight at Qi Luzhi.
“Tomorrow?” Qi Luzhi didn’t expect Lian Xun to say that suddenly, and he was taken aback for a moment, “Isn’t that too fast?”
Lian Xun shook his head, got off Qi Luzhi, carefully helped him up, and threw himself back into his arms. “It’s not fast, I want to tie you tightly to my side, so you don’t overthink things again.”
He had cried too hard just now, and his body was still twitching uncontrollably.
Qi Luzhi patted Lian Xun’s back to comfort him, pondered for a moment, and made up his mind.
“Six months, give me another six months.”
He wanted to give Lian Xun a perfect wedding without regrets, he was willing to work hard one more time for Lian Xun.
Maybe, a miracle would happen?
“You’re not allowed to lie to me again this time.” Lian Xun sobbed, “Qi Luzhi, you have to pull yourself together, just think of it as doing it for me, okay?”
“Yeah, I won’t worry you anymore.” Qi Luzhi held the person in his arms tightly, the gloom in his chest completely dissipated, and the road ahead became clearer.
After this outburst, the dark clouds and fog that had separated the two for many days finally cleared, but Lian Xun was still very angry, and for several days he didn’t give Qi Luzhi a kind look.
“I’m sorry, Lian Xun, I was really wrong.” Qi Luzhi lowered his eyes and obediently begged for forgiveness.
Lian Xun squinted at him, “Don’t say sorry, say you love me.”
Qi Luzhi choked for a moment, and then said affectionately, “I love you.”
Lian Xun’s lips curled into a faint smile, and he went over to sit next to Qi Luzhi, tucking the blanket around his legs.
“By the way, Qi Luzhi, I’ve always wanted to ask you, how come you suddenly started calling me Lian Xun? You never wanted to call me that before.” Lian Xun looked at him curiously.
Before, Qi Luzhi called him either baby, occasionally wifey, but most of the time he called him by his full name.
Qi Luzhi’s eyes flickered, seeming a little embarrassed, “I… Gao Jingqian calls you that, I don’t want to use the same name as him.”
Mentioning Gao Jingqian, his expression had an unspeakable awkwardness.
After being jealous for so long, his rival in love suddenly became his brother-in-law, which was really hard for him to accept.
A few days ago, Lian Xun received a DNA test report, confirming that Gao Jingqian was indeed his biological brother. Lian Xun struggled for a long time, but still told Gao Jingqian the truth.
Since then, all three of them have been in an awkward situation, especially Lian Xun and Gao Jingqian, who didn’t know how to face each other at all, so they simply acted like ostriches and haven’t seen each other since that day.
