MLROCSHR Chapter 61
by VolareHow boring!
Lian Xun curled his lips. “President Qi is truly diligent.”
“What, do you have plans?” Qi Luzhi glanced at Lian Xun, noticing his hesitant expression.
“If I said I did, would you put aside work to be with me?” Lian Xun moved closer to Qi Luzhi, staring expectantly into his eyes.
Qi Luzhi looked down at Lian Xun for a long moment, his brow slightly furrowed.
“When did you become so cautious when talking to me?”
Something was off!
Although Lian Xun wasn’t making it obvious, Qi Luzhi could sense even the slightest changes in his actions.
“Did I? Really?” Lian Xun’s heart skipped a beat.
Damn it, did Qi Luzhi install radar in his eyes? How could he guess all his little thoughts?
“Didn’t you?” Qi Luzhi countered.
Lian Xun remained silent for a long time, the two of them maintaining eye contact.
“No, I just want you to spend more time with me. You’re always busy with work and never have any free time,” Lian Xun said with a determined look.
“Really?”
“Really!”
Actually, Lian Xun had wanted to ask Qi Luzhi to return to Shang Jiang with him again.
This time, not for his sake, but regarding the orphanage where Qi Luzhi had spent his childhood and the director, Auntie.
After their brief encounter last time, Lian Xun felt something was amiss and secretly sent people to find the director again.
He knew Qi Luzhi had always been hung up on what happened in his childhood.
He wanted to help Qi Luzhi resolve his inner conflict.
Hesitating and struggling internally for a long time, Lian Xun still couldn’t bring himself to speak.
Forget it, he didn’t want to ruin Qi Luzhi’s good mood for now. He’d think about it some more and bring it up in a couple of days.
“What are you thinking about? You’re so lost in thought.”
Qi Luzhi held the steering wheel with one hand and snapped his fingers in front of Lian Xun with his right hand, pulling him back from his wandering thoughts.
Lian Xun jolted and came back to his senses.
“Qi-gege, no matter what I do, you must believe that I did it because I love you very, very much.”
“?”
Lian Xun’s sudden confession left Qi Luzhi bewildered.
He suspiciously scanned Lian Xun from head to toe but ultimately didn’t ask any further questions, only replying gently, “I know.”
No matter what, he believed Lian Xun would never harm him.
“The car in front is moving, let’s go,” Lian Xun urged, afraid that Qi Luzhi would dig deeper.
Qi Luzhi looked ahead, and the traffic was indeed flowing like a floodgate had been opened, making people feel refreshed. He stepped on the gas and focused on driving.
By the time they reached their destination, over an hour had passed. Lian Xun, having missed his hunger pangs, suddenly didn’t feel like eating anymore, so he suggested taking a stroll through the nearby plaza first.
Qi Luzhi naturally obliged.
In the plaza, the lights were like woven silk, adorning the night with a dreamlike quality.
Two tall figures in tailored suits walked side-by-side, one handsome and dashing with a smile in his eyes, the other with a cold expression but eyes that hid boundless tenderness when he looked at the other.
Two completely different styles, yet both possessed extraordinary auras, forming a beautiful scene in the night that attracted the attention of many passersby.
Lian Xun ignored the admiring or inquisitive gazes around them, only feeling exceptionally content in this moment.
“It’s been a long time since we’ve taken a walk like this at night. It feels pretty good, doesn’t it?” Lian Xun said, smiling at Qi Luzhi beside him.
“Mm.”
Qi Luzhi nodded slightly, quietly enjoying the companionship.
Just walking shoulder-to-shoulder with Lian Xun made him feel happy.
“I…”
Qi Luzhi was about to say something when he suddenly felt his arm being tugged abruptly.
Lian Xun, flustered, pulled him behind a large flower bed, peering out furtively as if hiding from something.
Qi Luzhi frowned, looking around before focusing on Lian Xun. “What are you doing? Did you see a ghost?”
“No,” Lian Xun pressed down on Qi Luzhi’s head, urging him to stay lower. “Look over there.”
Qi Luzhi followed Lian Xun’s gaze and saw two familiar faces by the fountain not far away.
“Isn’t that Li Yang and your little assistant? Why are you hiding from them?” Qi Luzhi asked, puzzled.
“You don’t understand. You have to be sneaky when you’re watching a show, that’s how you get unexpected surprises.”
As he spoke, Lian Xun even took out his phone to secretly photograph the two of them in their intimate moment.
Qi Luzhi didn’t understand, but he respected it, obediently hiding behind the flower bed with Lian Xun.
The two in the distance were completely unaware and continued to display their affection for each other without restraint.
Ling Yu, who was usually so talkative at work, was like a mute in front of Li Yang, flustered by Li Yang’s teasing. Lian Xun found it amusing.
Just as Lian Xun was enthusiastically taking pictures, his eyes suddenly met those of someone in the phone screen.
Awkwardness overload!
Lian Xun was about to drag Qi Luzhi away when Li Yang had already swiftly rushed over and grabbed Lian Xun’s wrist.
“Hand over the phone.” Li Yang’s tone was icy, but a hint of confusion flashed in his eyes when he saw who was taking the pictures.
“What are you two doing? I thought it was paparazzi taking pictures,” Li Yang said speechlessly.
But he was relieved.
Thank goodness it wasn’t paparazzi.
“Hehe, just passing by, just passing by,” Lian Xun said with a forced laugh.
“Does your hand hurt?” Qi Luzhi saw Lian Xun rubbing his wrist and took his hand, gently blowing on it, not forgetting to glare at Li Yang.
Ling Yu, who had arrived later, had a very interesting expression on his face when he saw this scene.
“Boss, you and President Qi…”
Ling Yu’s eyes darted back and forth between the two of them, shocked.
“Wow, Ling Yu, why aren’t you at home so late at night? What are you doing here with President Li?”
Before Ling Yu could react, Lian Xun preemptively questioned him.
“I… I’m…”
Ling Yu’s mind went blank, and he couldn’t think of any excuses.
He still thought that Lian Xun didn’t know about his relationship with Li Yang.
Little did he know, the moment he agreed to be with Li Yang, Li Yang had already couldn’t wait to show off to Qi Luzhi.
Qi Luzhi had, of course, told Lian Xun.
Ling Yu stammered, his face flushed red, while Lian Xun continued to add fuel to the fire.
“Oh~ Ling Yu, you wouldn’t be thinking of defecting to President Li’s company, would you? I’ve been so good to you, yet you… you actually betrayed me.”
He exaggeratedly covered his mouth, pretending to be heartbroken.
“No, no, Boss, I’m not thinking of defecting,” Ling Yu said, at a loss, instinctively casting a look of help towards Li Yang.
“Don’t bully Ling Yu, he’s my person now.” Li Yang put his arm around Ling Yu’s shoulders, looking at Lian Xun provocatively.
Lian Xun: “Ling Yu, you tell me yourself, who do you want, President Lian or President Li?”
“Of course, I want to follow you, Boss.”
Ling Yu thought Lian Xun was still talking about defecting, so he blurted out without hesitation.
He had sworn to follow Lian Xun for life!
Lian Xun smiled with satisfaction, but someone became jealous, and the hand on Ling Yu’s shoulder involuntarily tightened.
