Chapter 59: I Like Being Bothered by You

“That won’t do!” Lian Xun decisively refused.

“Being closer to me, isn’t that good?”

Qi Luzhi felt that his suggestion was excellent. The office environment of Sheng Shao Group was better than Lian Xun’s current company by more than a little bit.

    Why would he refuse?

“Being closer to you is certainly good, but not at Sheng Shao Group,” Lian Xun replied.

Qi Luzhi didn’t understand. “Why not? Haven’t you been doing quite well here these days?”

Lian Xun looked at Qi Luzhi, whose brows were furrowed together, and explained helplessly, “Qi-gege, I can’t rely on you to help me with everything.”

“Why not? Do you have to be so clear-cut with me?”

“No, I mean… I don’t want to always bother you. I want to become stronger…”

Lian Xun didn’t know how to explain.

Qi Luzhi had already helped him too much with work-related matters, from introducing him to expand his network to helping him deal with all kinds of negative news.

He longed to one day stand beside Qi Luzhi, side by side.

When Qi Luzhi needed him, he also hoped that he could step forward and use his own strength to protect him and help him.

And all of this, he had to achieve on his own.

Lian Xun insisted again and again. Qi Luzhi couldn’t resist, so he had to compromise, “Alright, I respect your choice, but…”

“Don’t always feel like you’re bothering me. You must tell me if you encounter something you can’t handle.”

Qi Luzhi paused, and then said dotingly, “I like being bothered by you.”

A warm current quietly surged from the depths of Lian Xun’s heart. He hugged Qi Luzhi, moved, “Qi-gege, how can you be so good? If you’re like this, I’ll like you more and more, what should I do?”

“Then you can like me a little more each day, I don’t mind.”

Qi Luzhi pulled Lian Xun’s arms off him and fastened his seat belt, “Sit tight, we’re leaving.”

“Okay, going home,” Lian Xun said with a smile.

Neon lights flickered on the side of the street, and pedestrians hurried on their way home. In a corner of this city, there was also a light waiting to be lit for them.

Heng Feng Building was indeed a bit far from Qi Luzhi’s villa. A normal drive would take more than forty minutes. If there was morning or evening rush hour traffic, being stuck for one or two hours was commonplace.

Lian Xun commuting like this every day, getting up early and working late, Qi Luzhi saw it all and felt very sorry for him.

After dinner, Lian Xun leaned back on the sofa to take a nap. Qi Luzhi walked over, sat beside him, and pulled him onto his lap.

Lian Xun opened his eyes slightly and naturally reached out to wrap his arms around Qi Luzhi’s neck, asking, “What’s wrong?”

“Have you been very tired from work lately?” Qi Luzhi looked up at Lian Xun’s tired eyes, his tone increasingly affectionate.

“It’s a little tiring. Work is too busy.”

As Lian Xun spoke, he yawned.

“Do you want to reconsider my suggestion from last time?”

“Or, should I buy another house near your company?”

Hearing Qi Luzhi say this, Lian Xun instantly woke up, “What are you doing? Do you have too much money to spend?”

“What’s the problem? Since you’re going to be working there long-term, we can buy a house and switch between the two, so you don’t have to run so far every day.”

Qi Luzhi was very serious about considering the feasibility of this matter.

“No, really, no need,” Lian Xun hurriedly stopped him.

Actually, he had been carefully thinking about it recently, and it might be better to change the company’s address.

The location of Heng Feng Building was indeed a bit remote, and the office environment wasn’t very good either. If they wanted to expand the team in the future, they would still have to find a more presentable office space.

Moreover, he also wanted to be closer to Qi Luzhi’s company.

He had already found a new company address that was almost settled, but he hadn’t told Qi Luzhi yet.

Lian Xun wanted to wait until everything was settled to give Qi Luzhi a surprise.

Qi Luzhi tried to persuade him many times without success, both annoyed by Lian Xun’s stubbornness and helpless to do anything about it, so he could only dote on him.

On the other side, Li Yang was also extremely depressed.

At least Lian Xun and Qi Luzhi could meet at night after finishing a day’s work and going home, but what about him? He was basically in a long-distance relationship in the same city, only able to go on dates with Ling Yu on weekends.

On this Saturday, after the two of them watched a movie, Li Yang found an excuse to trick Ling Yu into coming home, intending to have him stay over.

    But he forgot one thing.

His good sister, Li Yu, would be coming over.

So, when Li Yu opened the door humming a little tune and saw two grown men kissing passionately in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, she was so frightened that her scream almost blew the roof off.

    “Ah—Brother, what are you doing?”

The two of them were startled by the sudden sound and hurriedly separated in a flustered manner. Ling Yu blushed even more, burying himself behind Li Yang like an ostrich.

Li Yang saw that the person who came was Li Yu and breathed a sigh of relief, “You scared me to death, why didn’t you say anything in advance about coming?”

Li Yu rolled her eyes, “I already said it a long time ago, you just forgot.”

She walked up to Li Yang, stretched her neck, and curiously looked behind him, “Brother, who is this?”

“Ling Yu, the person I like.”

Li Yang took Ling Yu’s hand and brought him in front of Li Yu.

“Hello, younger sister,” Ling Yu squeezed out an awkward smile.

    “Hello, sister-in-law.”

Li Yu greeted him generously, making Ling Yu’s face turn bright red.

Ling Yu tugged on Li Yang’s sleeve and whispered, “Your sister is here, maybe I should go back.”

“No, I should be the one leaving,” Li Yu said quickly.

She didn’t want to disturb her brother’s good time.

Before leaving, Li Yu pulled Li Yang to the side and lowered her voice, “You actually dare to find me a male sister-in-law, Mom and Dad will definitely not agree.”

“Don’t worry about it, hurry up and leave.”

Li Yang put his arm around Li Yu’s shoulders and pushed her to the door.

“Then good luck to you, bye-bye,” Li Yu looked at her brother sympathetically and left without looking back.

Li Yang looked at the closed door in front of him, his expression becoming solemn.

What was coming would come sooner or later. In any case, he would protect Ling Yu and not let his family hurt him in the slightest.

“Li Yang,” the person behind him called out.

Li Yang adjusted the expression on his face, smiling as he walked towards Ling Yu.

On the last workday before the May Day holiday, Qi Luzhi, as usual, stood by the window in the afternoon, drinking tea and gazing into the distance to rest his eyes.

The phone suddenly rang. It was a call from Lian Xun.

“Qi-gege, are you in the office?”

    Lian Xun’s voice seemed excited.

    “Yes.”

“Then go to the south-facing window and look across the street.”

Although Qi Luzhi didn’t know what Lian Xun was up to, he obediently followed his instructions.

He came to the south-facing floor-to-ceiling window and looked out. Besides the office building next door, there was nothing special.

“I’m at the window, what are you having me look at?”

Qi Luzhi asked the person on the phone while still carefully searching outside the window.
