MLROCSHR Chapter 37
by VolareChapter 37: I Like You, I Never Changed
This sleep was particularly sound, and when Lian Xun woke up, there was still a smile on his lips.
He turned over, and the soreness from his waist and thighs made him wince.
Lian Xun grabbed his phone and glanced at it: 3:20 PM.
He really slept for a long time.
Qi Luzhi wasn’t by his side. Lian Xun got up and looked in the living room, but he wasn’t there. The leather shoes at the entrance were also gone.
Did he leave?
Lian Xun smiled self-deprecatingly. What was he expecting anyway?
His stomach suddenly rumbled. After sleeping for so long, he was indeed a little hungry. There was nothing at home, so Lian Xun quickly washed up, put on his clothes, and prepared to go to the nearby supermarket.
As soon as he went downstairs, he ran into Qi Luzhi, who was returning at the entrance of the apartment.
Lian Xun’s eyes lit up.
“You didn’t leave?”
Qi Luzhi raised the bag in his hand. “There’s nothing in your fridge. I was afraid you’d be hungry when you woke up, so I went out to buy some food.”
“Oh.” Lian Xun awkwardly touched his nose. “I thought…”
“Where are you going?” Qi Luzhi asked.
He was now particularly sensitive to any movement of Lian Xun.
“Supermarket.”
“Then I’ll go with you.” Qi Luzhi moved slightly to the side. “Let’s go, you lead the way.”
The supermarket wasn’t far from Lian Xun’s apartment, about a ten-minute walk. The weather was nice, and after basking in the sun all morning, the whole street exuded a hint of warmth.
When they got to the supermarket, Lian Xun pushed a small cart and went straight to the frozen food section, strolling leisurely. Qi Luzhi followed closely behind him, one step behind.
Shrimp dumplings looked good. Lian Xun picked up two large bags and threw them into the cart.
Starting today, he would be living alone in the small apartment again. He couldn’t cook, so it was better to stock up on some food.
Although most of the time, he would order takeout, which was easier.
“These things aren’t healthy, you shouldn’t eat them.” Qi Luzhi took the two bags of frozen dumplings out again and put them back in the freezer.
“Then I… I’ll look at something else.”
After wandering around again, Lian Xun bought instant noodles, but Qi Luzhi said they weren’t nutritious. Lian Xun bought fried rice, but Qi Luzhi said it was pre-made and not delicious. Lian Xun wanted to add some household items, but Qi Luzhi said it wasn’t necessary…
For a whole hour, only a box of strawberries remained in the cart without being rejected by Qi Luzhi.
Lian Xun finally couldn’t bear it anymore and looked helplessly at Qi Luzhi. “May I ask? I’m picking things that I need at my house, and it’s not spending your money. Why won’t you let me buy this or that?”
“I said, these are all unnecessary.”
“Let’s go back, the food is going to get cold.” Qi Luzhi grabbed Lian Xun’s wrist without explanation and walked towards the cashier.
This person was really inexplicable.
He had been acting strange since last night.
On the way home, the two walked very slowly, as if neither of them wanted to reach their destination so quickly.
Qi Luzhi lowered his head slightly, looking preoccupied and hesitant.
“Do you have something to say to me?” Lian Xun spoke first.
“I… no.”
As expected.
“But I have something I want to say to you.” Lian Xun paused, looking at the person beside him with firm eyes.
Qi Luzhi, to him, was like a Malteser stuck in his throat, a little sweet, but really uncomfortable.
Qi Luzhi seemed to like him, but also seemed not to. Lian Xun had also thought about just staying together like this in a muddle, living one day at a time. But now, he didn’t want to do that anymore.
One last time, he would ask one last time.
“Why did you come to me last night?” Lian Xun sniffed, suppressing the tremor in his voice.
“Do you like me at all? Even just a little bit?”
“You said you’d give me a chance to pursue you, but I’ve been chasing you for so long, why won’t you agree? What’s wrong with me? Are you playing with me?”
“Say something! I don’t want to wait anymore. Give me an answer today. If… if you really don’t like me, then I… then I… I’ll just have a crush on you, and I won’t bother you anymore.”
Lian Xun’s questions came like a barrage of bullets, giving him no chance to breathe.
Qi Luzhi didn’t expect Lian Xun to suddenly ask so many questions, and with such a serious expression. He was stunned in place for a moment, unable to speak.
He wasn’t avoiding it, he was just wondering where to start answering.
Lian Xun waited for a long time without hearing Qi Luzhi’s reply, and his eyes turned red uncontrollably.
“I understand!” Lian Xun pouted, abandoned Qi Luzhi and turned to leave.
He didn’t want Qi Luzhi to see his embarrassing appearance.
“Lian Xun.” Qi Luzhi called out, but Lian Xun didn’t stop, instead walking faster.
“Do you know that you’re really bad!”
The anxious and dissatisfied accusation came from behind. Lian Xun stopped, and the sadness and disappointment in his heart were replaced by endless grievance.
It was one thing for Qi Luzhi not to like him, but to say that he was bad, who was worse?
Just as he was about to turn around and argue, Qi Luzhi spoke again.
“Do you think I’m stupid and easy to fool, that you can abandon me whenever you want, ignore me for years, and then just hook your finger and I’ll fall for it again?”
Lian Xun listened quietly, not turning around, wanting to argue, but finding that he had no right to.
Qi Luzhi was right, he was indeed very bad.
He deserved the consequences!
“Who wouldn’t learn a lesson after being deceived twice?” Qi Luzhi chuckled. “But what can I do? I’m just that easy to fool.”
These words exploded in Lian Xun’s ears like thunder. He turned around abruptly, looking at Qi Luzhi in disbelief, his voice still tearful, “You, what do you mean?”
The answer he had dreamed of hearing was ringing in his ears, but he couldn’t believe it.
Qi Luzhi walked towards Lian Xun step by step. His eyes held too much, so intense that Lian Xun felt trapped, unable to escape.
Affection, expectation, infatuation, nervousness.
And fear. This emotion, which shouldn’t have appeared on Qi Luzhi’s face, made Lian Xun’s heart ache.
“I lost.” Qi Luzhi said slowly.
“Lian Xun, I like you, I never changed!”
Even if I’m deceived by you a thousand times, ten thousand times, it doesn’t matter, as long as you don’t leave again.
“…”
Lian Xun was completely stunned.
The joy that trembled every pore was like a tsunami, crashing in from all directions, so intense that his whole body ached.
“Am I hallucinating?” Lian Xun looked up at the handsome face so close, so familiar, yet so strange.
Qi Luzhi smiled dotingly and gently wiped away the tears from the corner of Lian Xun’s eyes. “You’re not hallucinating. I said, I like you, I like you, I like you…”
He confessed again and again, patiently, until the other party was really sure that it wasn’t a dream.
The bursting emotions had nowhere to vent, and Lian Xun only felt his chest burning as if it was about to explode. His lips opened and closed several times, but no sound came out.
He suddenly stepped forward and hugged Qi Luzhi’s neck tightly, burying his face in his shoulder, his voice muffled: “Then why did you make me wait so long? You’re really bad!”
“So, Qi-gege, are you agreeing to be my boyfriend?”
