    Chapter 26: Taking You Home

    Chapter 26: Taking You Home

Sunlight streamed through the broken windows, scattering onto the dusty floor. Besides some shattered bricks on the ground, the empty room offered no other shelter.

Several figures slowly approached from all directions, encircling Lian Xun until he was completely hemmed in.

Lian Xun’s sharp gaze swept around, settling on the man in the lead, who was wearing a worn-out jacket.

“Who are you? What do you want?” Lian Xun’s voice was calm, and his face showed no sign of fear.

The man didn’t answer, only making a gesture towards Lian Xun. One of his lackeys behind him rushed forward without a word, throwing a punch at Lian Xun’s face.

Lian Xun dodged to the side, easily avoiding the blow. Reacting quickly, he immediately retaliated, punching the man in the stomach. The man cried out in pain and doubled over.

Seeing this, the others swarmed forward. A cold smile curled on Lian Xun’s lips, but his movements showed no panic.

He was like a butterfly dancing in a storm, gracefully and lightly dodging each attack.

Heh, no one knew that he had secretly practiced Sanda (Chinese kickboxing) for five years when he was abroad. Dealing with these small fries was a piece of cake.

However, at that moment, the jacket man’s fist accidentally brushed past Lian Xun’s Tie, and the tie clip fell to the ground with a crisp sound.

Lian Xun’s movements suddenly froze, his gaze fixed on the dust-covered tie clip.

Distracted, he took two heavy blows to the face and back in quick succession. Lian Xun stumbled, quickly dodging aside to steady himself.

He stared intently at the smug jacket man across from him, like an extremely angry beast.

    “Damn it, you’re dead today!”

Lian Xun’s face was grim as he clenched his fists and charged straight at the jacket man. His movements suddenly became fierce, each punch delivered with full force.

His fists rained down on the jacket man, who raised his hands to block a few times, but was directly knocked to the ground, defenseless.

The remaining four lackeys rushed forward to help, but Lian Xun kicked each of them away.

Before long, the jacket man was bruised and swollen, blood oozing from his nose and mouth. Even his dodging movements slowed down. The lackeys, seeing Lian Xun’s ruthlessness, couldn’t help but feel afraid and dared not step forward again.

“What do we do? At this rate, the boss is going to get beaten to death,” one of the lackeys exclaimed.

“Damn it, this is a losing proposition. The employer won’t pay us if this kid doesn’t get hurt at all,” another lackey said, gritting his teeth and clutching his arm. He said impatiently, “Why don’t you call the Policeman? The boss has been beaten so badly, at least let that kid pay some money.”

    “Oh, okay.”

The foolish lackey actually took out his phone and called the Policeman.

Lian Xun, tired from fighting, finally stopped. Casually using the hem of the jacket man’s T-shirt to wipe his hands, he then got up and slowly walked over to pick up the tie clip, carefully wiped it clean, and placed it in the inner pocket of his suit, close to his heart.

Several lackeys rushed over to check on their boss’s injuries. Lian Xun suddenly approached again, scaring them into a huddled mass.

“Speak, who ordered you? What’s your purpose?” Lian Xun questioned sternly from above.

A yellow-haired lackey quickly replied, “We really don’t know, we’re just following the boss’s orders.”

He glanced again at the unconscious jacket man, his face full of embarrassment. “But… the boss has passed out now…”

Hearing this, Lian Xun’s gaze swept coldly over the jacket man’s unsightly face. He wondered if he should beat him up again to wake him up and ask what was going on.

Suddenly, a siren sounded from outside, growing louder as it approached. Lian Xun followed the sound and saw several uniformed police officers walking in.

The jacket man’s lackeys were as excited as if they had seen a savior when they saw the police, and they all cried and complained about Lian Xun’s violence.

Lian Xun was speechless. At this moment, only the hem of his clothes was slightly dirty and his face was slightly bruised. On the other hand, the others had been beaten so badly.

If he said that he was the one who had been tricked into coming here and ambushed, the police probably wouldn’t believe him.

It seemed that he had no choice but to go to the station!

    Sheng Shao Group.

Close to the interview time, Qi Luzhi went to find Lian Xun, only to find that he was not in the Office.

“Where’s your boss?” Qi Luzhi asked Ling Yu.

“Bo, the boss has been out for a long time, and I can’t get through to him on the phone.” Ling Yu replied nervously.

Qi Luzhi’s right eyelid suddenly twitched twice, and he felt an inexplicable ominous premonition in his heart.

He picked up his phone and dialed Lian Xun’s number again, but the phone was still busy.

Qi Luzhi’s eyes darkened, and his mood became heavier. He turned and walked towards the Elevator, meeting Feng Nuo face to face.

“President Qi, the reporter has arrived, and the interview is about to begin. Where are you going?” Secretary Feng’s voice carried a hint of urging.

Qi Luzhi waved his hand, “Postpone the interview. I have more important things to deal with.”

Although Secretary Feng was a little surprised, she didn’t dare to ask more when she saw Qi Luzhi’s serious expression, so she could only nod in agreement.

That was the INJ interview. If they postponed it this time, who knew how long they would have to wait for the next one.

Moreover, if they cancelled at the last minute, what if they offended INJ…

Feng Nuo slapped her forehead in despair, not daring to think any further.

The sky gradually darkened, and the city’s neon lights began to flicker, but Qi Luzhi’s heart grew heavier and heavier.

He searched all the places Lian Xun might have gone, but still couldn’t find any trace of him.

He began to regret that he didn’t know Lian Xun well enough, and that he didn’t care enough about him, so that he couldn’t find him at such a crucial time.

If something happened to Lian Xun, he would never forgive himself!

Just then, his phone suddenly rang. The caller ID showed Xuan Cheng A District Police Station.

“Hello, do you know Lian Xun?” The voice on the other end of the phone was serious and official.

When Qi Luzhi rushed to the police station, he saw Lian Xun sitting alone on a long chair against the wall, with obvious injuries on his face.

A strong feeling of bitterness and anger welled up in Qi Luzhi’s heart. He strode forward and asked with concern, “Lian Xun, how are you?”

Lian Xun raised his head, and a trace of grievance flashed in his eyes when he saw Qi Luzhi.

    “Qi Luzhi, my face hurts.”

Qi Luzhi’s heart softened, and he raised his hand to gently touch the injury on Lian Xun’s face.

“Your face hurts? Take a look at how you beat those people up?” A Policeman suddenly said.

Qi Luzhi turned his head and saw several people sitting on the other side of the room, looking badly injured. Especially the jacket man in the middle, his face was unrecognisable.

Compared to them, Lian Xun’s injuries were simply insignificant.

“You did this?” Qi Luzhi asked in disbelief.

He thought Lian Xun was the victim, but he didn’t expect him to be the perpetrator!

“They planned to attack me first.” Lian Xun said matter-of-factly.

Qi Luzhi was stunned for two seconds, then said gently, “Then they deserved it. You did well.”

Since Lian Xun said that the other party had provoked him first, then it must be the other party’s fault.

Fortunately, Lian Xun was fine, otherwise, even if Lian Xun didn’t do anything, he wouldn’t have let those people off.

Lian Xun was also stunned when he heard Qi Luzhi say this. He thought Qi Luzhi would dislikehim for being too violent.

“Don’t you think I’m too violent?” he asked.

“No.” Qi Luzhi’s tone was steady and firm. He took Lian Xun’s hand and said softly, “Let’s go, I’ll take you home.”
