Chapter 20: Want to Kiss You

Qi Luzhi roughly guessed who was calling.

Initially, he intended to ignore it, but the other party was persistent, showing a tendency to keep calling until he answered. So, Qi Luzhi reached out to Wei Xueming, “Give me the phone.”

    Wei Xueming didn’t budge.

“Hurry up and give it to me!” Qi Luzhi said impatiently.

Wei Xueming reluctantly handed him the phone. “Here! Tell him not to call anymore. Tonight, you’re mine!”

When Qi Luzhi took the phone, the ringtone had just stopped, but the other party didn’t call again.

He opened the chat messages, his brows furrowing tighter and tighter.

[Lian Xun: Where did you go?]

[Lian Xun: When are you coming home?]

[Lian Xun: I prepared a surprise for you, don’t you really want to see it?]

[Lian Xun: Are you mad at me and don’t want to talk to me?]

[Lian Xun: Brother Qi, no matter how late you come back, I’ll wait for you!]

The increasingly humble words caused a dull pain in Qi Luzhi’s heart.

He put the phone in his pocket and said in a deep voice, “I have to go home.”

Wei Xueming immediately jumped up. “Hey, hey, you’re cheating. We said no one is allowed to leave early tonight!”

Qi Luzhi patiently explained, “I have something urgent at home.”

Wei Xueming: “You’re the only one at home, what could be so urgent?”

Qi Luzhi swept a cold gaze over him, and Wei Xueming immediately shut up, looking at Li Yang for help.

“Yeah, how big of a deal could it be? Can’t it wait until tomorrow? Anyway, you don’t have to go to the company tomorrow…”

Before Li Yang finished speaking, Qi Luzhi anxiously said, “Sorry, I really have something urgent. I have to go.”

Right now, he didn’t want to wait a single second.

On New Year’s Eve, the traffic was terrible, and Qi Luzhi frequently looked at his watch, a hint of anxiety on his brow.

At the villa, Lian Xun sat on the swing in front of the porch, adorned with fairy lights, staring at the dark and desolate gate, his eyes dimming little by little.

Qi Luzhi, won’t he really come back tonight?

    It’s almost twelve o’clock!

Who is Qi Luzhi spending New Year’s Eve with right now?

If he calls again, he’ll seem too senseless, disturbing and annoying.

Lian Xun sighed deeply. Reason told him not to wait any longer, not to stand here in the snow and wind like a fool, but his body didn’t want to move an inch.

Just a little longer, just a little!

Qi Luzhi was in a hurry to get home, but misfortune never comes singly. The car broke down halfway, and he couldn’t help clenching his fist and slamming it against the steering wheel. Helpless, he called for a tow truck and then immediately took a taxi home.

With stops and starts along the way, when Qi Luzhi returned to the villa with an eager heart, the scene before him left him dumbfounded, and he wondered if he had gone to the wrong place.

The once-barren lawn was now lush and green, like a scene from spring. Strings of bell-like white flowers adorned the verdant branches and leaves, complementing the snowflakes dancing in the air.

Fairy lights sparkled all around, and a youth with a melancholic expression leaned against the swing, like an elf in a sea of flowers.

Qi Luzhi quietly approached and softly called out, “Lian Xun, I’m back.”

Lian Xun came back to his senses, looked up at the person in front of him, and his eyes instantly filled with happy light.

“Where did you go? I thought you weren’t coming back.”

“Look, this is what I spent so long preparing for you, do you like it?”

Lian Xun ran to the lawn filled with flowers, faced Qi Luzhi, opened his arms, and showed off his masterpiece with a brilliant smile.

Qi Luzhi had no heart to admire it, he just stared intently at the handsome youth before him, his forehead bangs slightly damp, his nose red, and his black and white checkered scarf and dark down jacket covered in snow.

He didn’t know how long he had been waiting outside.

“You…did you prepare all of this yourself?” Qi Luzhi asked.

“Of course, I moved them for a whole afternoon, my hands are sore,” Lian Xun pouted.

Qi Luzhi’s heart stirred, “Couldn’t you have asked someone else to move them? Why did you have to do it yourself?”

“How could I do that? I had to complete the surprise for you myself.”

“Qi Luzhi, Happy New Year!” Lian Xun smiled, his whole being seeming to glow.

The midnight chimes rang out, and Lian Xun slowly walked up to Qi Luzhi, looked into his eyes, and his eyes were full of deep affection.

“These flowers are called snowdrops, they bloom in winter, and they symbolize rebirth.”

After a pause, he continued, “Look, winter can also have flowers blooming. After a few days, I’ll have someone move all the flowers from the pots to the lawn, so every winter from now on, the yard can be filled with flowers.”

Qi Luzhi looked at Lian Xun’s bright eyes, and the high walls built in his heart were collapsing bit by bit.

He stepped forward and hugged him tightly, his suppressed voice ringing in Lian Xun’s ear, “You’re such an idiot!”

“Hey, I worked so hard to prepare a holiday gift for you, why are you scolding me?” Lian Xun said dissatisfied.

“Let’s go, let’s go inside first. Look at you, you’re frozen stiff!”

Qi Luzhi took Lian Xun’s cold hand and led him into the house, settled him by the warm fireplace, and poured hot coffee into Lian Xun’s hands.

“Thank you, Brother Qi is so considerate.” Lian Xun took the coffee with a happy smile.

“Wait.” Qi Luzhi grabbed Lian Xun’s hand back, seeing the glaring scars on it, and the red fingertips, his brow furrowed, and asked, “What happened to your hand?”

Lian Xun raised the back of his hand and glanced at it, not caring. “Probably got scratched accidentally when moving the flower pots, it’s okay, it’ll be fine in a few days.”

“Don’t do this in the future, people who don’t know might think I’m abusing you.”

Qi Luzhi got some ointment and gently applied it to Lian Xun’s hand.

Lian Xun looked at the gentle and focused Qi Luzhi in front of him, and the corners of his lips couldn’t help but turn up.

These injuries were so worth it!

After applying the medicine, Qi Luzhi took out a small object from his pocket and handed it to Lian Xun.

“Here, I picked it up on the road, consider it a New Year’s gift.”

“I have a gift?” Lian Xun was pleasantly surprised.

He was already very happy that Qi Luzhi could spend New Year’s Eve with him, he didn’t expect to receive a gift too.

It was a metal tie clip, exquisitely crafted, with a bright luster. It looked expensive at first glance, definitely carefully selected for a long time before buying, how could it be picked up on the roadside.

    “Brother Qi, thank you!”

Lian Xun stepped forward and hugged Qi Luzhi’s neck, dropping a kiss on his lips.

Just as he was about to pull away, Qi Luzhi’s large hand restrained his waist, unable to move.

The other party’s deep eyes stared at him tightly, the desire in those eyes about to burst out, making Lian Xun feel uncomfortable all over.

“Brother Qi, what do you want to do?” Lian Xun swallowed.

    “Want to kiss you!”

A fiery kiss fell again, fiercely covering Lian Xun’s soft lips.

    …………

Qi Luzhi had a dream, dreaming that he was holding a ball of fire, the temperature so high that it seemed to burn him.

He groggily opened his eyes and realized that the scorching heat source was emanating from the person in his arms, and instantly woke up.
