Chapter 27 Isn’t This Supposed to Be Socialist Brotherhood? How Did It Change???
Lin Yan and Yun Qi were acting like a devoted couple, making Cheng Que feel utterly superfluous. He quickly found an excuse to slip away.
With only Lin Yan and Yun Qi left in the room, Lin Yan was just about to introduce Yun Qi to his perfect menu when he suddenly had a whim. He smacked his lips and looked towards the Back Yard, “I want to drink lemonade.”
“Big Brother, wait, I’ll make it for you.” Yun Qi always fulfilled Lin Yan’s requests. He settled Lin Yan down, turned around, and headed towards the Back Yard.
“Thanks for your hard work.” Lin Yan comfortably sat down on a stool, quite satisfied as he glanced at the menu, planning to go to sleep after his late-night snack.
Gu Zhan popped out of nowhere, gazing at Yun Qi’s back with a somber expression, “Your husband is truly good to you.”
“Huh?” Lin Yan was stunned for a moment, then remembered his and Yun Qi’s current identities.
Looks like their acting skills were pretty good.
Lin Yan chuckled wryly, “If I said this identity was just for show…”
“That’s impossible.” Gu Zhan followed with a simple-minded laugh, proudly patting his chest, “Don’t underestimate my ability to judge people, I’m always right. The way Brother Yun looks at you, tsk… it’s just like how I look at Cheng Que.”
“Don’t… don’t joke around.” Lin Yan remembered the infatuated look in Gu Zhan’s eyes when he looked at Cheng Que and shuddered exaggeratedly. He hesitated for a moment, then decided to give Gu Zhan a little hint.
Lin Yan cleared his throat and lowered his voice, speaking mysteriously, “Actually… I’m not a Ge’er.”
“Nonsense…”
“Look closely, look closely.” Lin Yan leaned closer to Gu Zhan and vigorously rubbed the mole on his nose, “This is different from Shopkeeper Cheng’s, it’s just an ordinary mole.”
Gu Zhan leaned in to look for a long time, then exclaimed, “Eh? It really is.”
Cheng Que heard the noise and looked over, so Gu Zhan quickly lowered his voice, held Lin Yan down, and quietly pointed towards the Back Yard, “Does Brother Mo know?”
Lin Yan shrugged, nonchalant, “He knows, I told him on the first day.”
“Then…”
Cheng Que came in with the lemonade, only to see the two of them huddled together.
He calmly walked between them, placed the tempting, fragrant lemonade in Lin Yan’s hand, and feigned curiosity, “Big Brother, what are you two talking about?”
“Nothing, nothing.” Gu Zhan waved his hands frantically, forced a smile, and walked out, “It’s getting late, I’ll go back first, then.”
Gu Zhan was too strange today. Yun Qi felt that something terrible had happened. He looked at Lin Yan for help, trying to connect with Lin Yan’s brainwaves to figure out what had happened.
The brainwaves did connect, but Lin Yan couldn’t explain what was wrong with Gu Zhan.
Yun Qi chose to take action himself. He unwillingly extended an invitation to the person who was clinging to Lin Yan, “Brother Gu, would you like to stay for a late-night snack?”
“No, no.” Gu Zhan struggled to resist the temptation of the delicious food, looked at the well-matched couple, and said earnestly, “You two should be happy together, may you always be of one heart, may you live a long and happy life together, and may you soon have…Pooh.” (Ptooey)
Gu Zhan looked at the small mole on Lin Yan’s nose and hurriedly changed his words, “May you never abandon each other, a deeply loving couple. I’m leaving, goodbye, goodbye, don’t bother to see me off.”
“Good heavens.” Lin Yan finally realized what was going on. He helplessly touched his nose, sighed, and shook his head, “I’ve been saying this for so long, this guy didn’t listen to a single word.”
Yun Qi looked in the direction where Gu Zhan disappeared and muttered regretfully, “What he said wasn’t wrong.”
This was the first time he didn’t want Gu Zhan to leave. Those words were very pleasing to the ear, more and more.
Lin Yan cleared his throat and sized up the person in front of him.
He originally didn’t take Gu Zhan’s nonsense seriously, but now… he still didn’t want to take it seriously. Yun Qi was only seventeen years old this year, the age of a high school student. Lin Yan had always treated Yun Qi like a younger brother, and suddenly learning that this younger brother wanted to hit on him…
Lin Yan screamed like a groundhog.
Seeing that Lin Yan hadn’t said anything, Yun Qi leaned over and asked with concern, “Big Brother, are you not feeling well?”
If it were before, Lin Yan wouldn’t have thought there was anything wrong, but now…
It was just a cough, why was he suddenly showing concern and warmth? If you’re going to talk, then talk, why are you so close? Those big eyes looking so innocent… fake, it must be fake, right?
Lin Yan took a step back, creating distance between himself and Yun Qi.
Lin Yan had never been like this. Yun Qi was stunned for a moment, and even his smile became forced.
Yo yo yo, now he’s acting wronged. This kid definitely has bad intentions, maybe he wants to take me down.
Lin Yan patted his burning face and tried to adjust his expression.
No, no, he had taken Yun Qi in for half a year. He should trust his own judgment. How could he be swayed by Gu Zhan’s two sentences…
The bits and pieces of his time with Yun Qi flashed back in Lin Yan’s mind like a revolving lantern. Contacts that seemed perfectly normal before now seemed to be bubbling with pink bubbles, and the more he looked at it, the more he felt something was wrong.
“Big Brother has been tired all day, go to bed early.” Yun Qi took the teacup from Lin Yan’s hand and pushed him towards the room.
Lin Yan felt that he was indeed tired and should go to bed early, preferably after a hot bath…
Hot bath?
Lin Yan stopped and looked at the well-behaved Yun Qi, deciding to test him out. He yawned and casually mentioned, “I feel so sticky, do you want to take a bath together?”
A blush quickly crept onto Yun Qi’s cheeks, and he stammered, “Isn’t… isn’t that not good?”
Lin Yan wrapped his arm around him and walked towards the room, “We’re both guys, what’s not good about it?”
“Then…” Yun Qi’s face became increasingly red, and by the time he entered the room, he was already a red mushroom. Lin Yan added a warmer, closed the window, and was just about to take off his coat when the mushroom jumped up.
“What…”
“I suddenly remembered that I haven’t cleaned up the vegetables for tomorrow yet, I’ll go clean them up first.” Yun Qi pushed open the door and ran out as if escaping, but after taking two steps, he tripped over a large black stone.
The black stone was very dissatisfied, revealing two emerald green eyes and making a disgruntled “woo woo” sound.
White was very innocent. After inspecting its territory, it was just about to return to the house to sleep when it was kicked by some bipedal beast from nowhere. This this life is really… Hey hey hey ah!!!
Yun Qi rudely picked up White and threw it through the crack in the door, “If Big Brother is bored, let White keep you company.”
Reaching the ground again, White felt its strength return. It bounced up, ready to seek revenge on the foolish bipedal beast outside the door, but the door was “bang” shut.
White wasn’t giving up, it cursed under its breath and was about to rush out when it was once again subdued by an irresistible force.
Lin Yan rubbed and kneaded the docile cat in his arms, muttering to himself, “White, why do you think Xiao Qi is acting so strangely?”
White didn’t know, White just wanted to go out and get revenge. White struggled desperately, and finally, Lin Yan flipped it over so its belly was facing up.
Lin Yan pressed White’s soft belly and muttered to himself, “Why did our good socialist brotherhood turn sour?”
Yun Qi’s voice came from outside the house, “Big Brother, I’ve put the hot water outside for you.”
Lin Yan suddenly stood up, carrying the big fat cat and walking outside, “Aren’t you…”
The wooden tub landed on the ground with a “thud,” followed by a flurry of footsteps. A clumsy excuse still lingered in the wind.
“I haven’t cleaned up the meat either, I’ll go take another look.”
Lin Yan looked at the tub of steaming hot water, speechless. He muttered to himself, continuing the sentence he hadn’t finished: “Aren’t you going to get me a towel?”
