AWDC Chapter 29
by VolareChapter 29: Mu Chuang is Mistaken for Lin Xi’s Boyfriend
The suitcase was forcefully snatched back and dragged back into the room. Immediately afterward, a large hand gripped his slender wrist and pulled him back inside as well.
The door slammed shut behind him, and then he saw the man take off his pajamas and start changing clothes.
Lin Xi was completely numb. He didn’t know what Mu Chuang was going to do, so he just stood there dumbly, watching his fluid movements as he changed.
“What are you still standing there for?” Mu Chuang said, his back to him, as he fastened his belt buckle. “Go wash up. I’ll take you to the hospital.”
Lin Xi’s heart trembled. He hadn’t expected that this man would notice this and even be responsible enough to take him to the hospital. His almost completely cooled heart quietly warmed up again.
He immediately went into the bathroom. He had long been unable to bear the sticky feeling on his body. Now that he had permission, he couldn’t wait to wash himself.
The pain in that area was excruciating, and waves of it stimulated him to break out in cold sweats. He endured it and washed himself, finally feeling a little more comfortable.
When he came out of the bathroom, he found that Mu Chuang was already dressed and ready, as if he had been waiting for a long time.
“Let’s go,” he said, picked up the car keys, and went to open the door.
Lin Xi put on his coat and slowly followed him out.
He closed the door behind him. Seeing the man already at the bottom of the building, leaning impatiently against the car, lighting a cigarette, and waiting for Lin Xi to come down.
Seeing Lin Xi slowly coming out of the stairwell, he didn’t urge him. He just deliberately opened the back door of the car and went to the driver’s seat.
Lin Xi looked at the car door that had been opened in the back seat, his heart filled with mixed feelings.
He slowly climbed in, and the moment he sat down, he felt excruciating pain in that area.
He gritted his teeth and didn’t make a sound. He fastened his seat belt slowly after the wave of pain had passed.
Mu Chuang saw all his reactions through the rearview mirror in the front. After making sure that the other party was seated, he started the car.
The two of them didn’t say a word along the way.
When they arrived at the hospital, there was only a doctor on duty at night. Since there were no other new patients, Lin Xi quickly received treatment.
But he was so embarrassed by the doctor’s questions that he didn’t say a word.
Mu Chuang stood beside him, not saying anything. Seeing the doctor become a little impatient, he went outside and closed the door from the outside.
With only the doctor left, Lin Xi slowly opened his mouth, almost squeezing out each word from between his teeth, extremely embarrassed.
As a doctor with professional ethics, he wasn’t too surprised to face such a situation, but was rather calm and composed.
“It’s okay, don’t be nervous,” the middle-aged man in his early thirties said, comforting him gently. “Come and lie down on the bed. Let me see how serious it is.”
Lin Xi gradually relaxed because of the other party’s tolerance and gentleness. He obediently went to the single bed for examination and took off half of his pants as instructed by the doctor.
Although the doctor was calm, Lin Xi still felt embarrassed to be exposed in front of someone like this.
“It’s okay, don’t be afraid,” the doctor continued to comfort him, and then began to check his injuries.
After a while, he suddenly changed to a reproachful tone, “Your boyfriend is too inconsiderate. How could he mess around like this?”
Lin Xi didn’t say anything.
Then he heard the doctor continue, “Don’t let him do this again next time, or you’ll probably lose half your life.”
Lin Xi smiled wryly in his heart, thinking that there would be no next time. Even if he accompanied him at the cost of his own life, Mu Chuang wouldn’t want it.
“You need a few stitches and an IV drip,” the doctor said, finishing the examination, straightening up, and staring at Lin Xi.
“Okay,” Lin Xi nodded, saying nothing more, but a solemn expression appeared on his face.
His father had only given him a few hundred red money when he left, which he had borrowed from others. These few bottles of IV fluid would probably cost all of it. There was still more than a month until payday, without Mu Chuang’s help, how would he survive?
Although Liang Ting had given him a few red money, he had never planned to use it. He would find a chance to return it. Then, next…
A gloomy look appeared on Lin Xi’s face, like someone who had lost their way in the dark.
“Is there something you can’t say?” the doctor suddenly asked. Combining what he had just seen of Mu Chuang’s attitude toward him, he felt sympathy for the beautiful young man in front of him.
“It’s nothing,” Lin Xi didn’t want to express his anxiety in front of a stranger. “Just treat me. I’m fine.”
The doctor didn’t say anything, turned around, opened the door, and went out.
Mu Chuang was waiting in the aisle, but he unexpectedly saw Liang Ting running up and down, and the other party also saw him.
He vaguely remembered that the woman had said something to him when he was confused at the hotel, so much so that he now wanted to strangle her when he saw her.
With his keen insight, he felt that Zhang Qingyang’s bet with him to drink was instigated by this woman. This woman had an unshirkable responsibility for him making this mistake and getting to this point with Lin Xi.
Liang Ting was also stunned when she saw him. Under normal circumstances, shouldn’t he be sleeping in the house after getting drunk? Why would he appear in the hospital?
It would be fine if he had ruined his health by drinking, but he was fine, and didn’t look like he was having any problems. So who was he here with?
Liang Ting didn’t know that Mu Chuang already hated her. To figure out this question, she pretended to be nonchalant and approached him.
“Chuang Ge, you’re here…” She didn’t say the second half of her sentence, replacing it with an expression that she hoped Mu Chuang could understand.
However, Mu Chuang’s face was gloomy, and he was not polite when he spoke to her, “Why am I here? Shouldn’t you ask yourself?”
“I can’t see that you have quite a few schemes,” he said, and a rich emotion appeared in his eyes, indicating that Liang Ting should understand the meaning of his words.
Liang Ting’s eyes darkened for a moment, her heart tightened, and then she pretended to be confused and defended herself, “What schemes could I have? I was originally happily celebrating my birthday, but I didn’t expect to be angry on both sides. I haven’t found a place to complain yet!”
Mu Chuang frowned upon hearing this, “What does that mean?”
Seeing that the other party seemed to have dispelled his doubts, Liang Ting quickly made up a few sentences on the spot, making it difficult to tell whether they were true or false, “What else could it mean? It’s just that Zhang Ge was happy to see you and drank too much with you. He has a perforated stomach now and has just been admitted to the hospital.”
“Not only do I have to pay for the medical expenses, but I also suffered a scolding. Now you’re blaming me again. Do you think I’m unlucky? Is there no place for me to complain?” After she finished speaking, she looked like she was about to cry, as if the two of them getting drunk had nothing to do with her, and she was the most unlucky one.
Mu Chuang was dubious, not doubting whether Zhang Qingyang really had a perforated stomach, but not believing that this woman had nothing to do with this matter.
He still maintained his original idea, and always felt that this woman had a problem with Zhang Qingyang.
