ASSHKHME Chapter 68
by VolareChapter 68: Bed Curtains
Li Ang returned to the dorm after his date with his girlfriend, arriving just before curfew check.
Seeing the neatly hung bed curtains, he thought he’d come to the wrong room.
But he quickly realized what was going on and teased, “Oh my god, our beds can’t handle that kind of activity.”
Xie Yu walked out of the bathroom.
Not minding the cold in the dead of winter, he casually wrapped a bath towel around his waist, roughly drying his hair with another towel. He said in a nonchalant manner, “Remember to wear earplugs tonight.”
Li Ang laughed and cursed, “Damn it! Yu-ge, you’re such a pervert, seriously.”
Chen Zhuo, unable to bear it any longer, snatched the towel from Xie Yu’s hand and stuffed it forcefully into his mouth, “Is your mouth the only thing that can blabber?”
Xie Yu tasted shampoo and frowned, spitting it out. He exploded, “Damn it, why are you so violent? Why are you always stuffing things in my mouth?”
Chen Zhuo caught Li Ang’s “I get it now” expression out of the corner of his eye and sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose, “Li Zi, you’re overthinking things, really.”
Li Ang winked at him, “I understand, I understand everything. No need to say more.”
Zhao Jiashu, having returned from curfew check, locked the door and said cheerfully, “Hey, ever since we installed these curtains, I feel like the room’s gotten so much smaller. Yu-ge, why did you suddenly decide to buy curtains?”
Xie Yu put on his pajamas, sat down next to Chen Zhuo, and said with a chuckle, “Didn’t want to see your butt naked when I wake up. Too hard on the eyes.”
Chen Zhuo and Li Ang burst out laughing without restraint.
Zhao Jiashu, still in the dark and now personally attacked, protested, “It’s cold now. Our dorm’s heating isn’t even that good. When have I ever been exposed? I’m always fully covered!”
Xie Yu yawned dramatically, giving Chen Zhuo a look, “Didn’t sleep well last night, sleepy. I’m going to sleep.”
With that, he climbed up the bed ladder in a few steps, pulled the curtains shut, creating a full sense of privacy, so nobody could see him.
Li Ang deliberately teased Chen Zhuo, “Zhuo’er, aren’t you sleepy? You look tired too. Go to bed early.”
Chen Zhuo felt like he was being “teased on his wedding night.” He’d hidden his sexuality for so long, and now his friends were openly joking about it. He felt extremely awkward.
And his little boyfriend was completely shameless.
Xie Yu poked his head out from behind the curtain and urged, “Chen Xiaozhuo’er, what time is it? Hurry up and go to sleep.”
Under Li Ang’s teasing gaze, Chen Zhuo wanted to hide his head in a drawer.
He was a hypocrite. He could tease others without batting an eye, but when he was teased, he became shy.
It wasn’t until Li Ang finished cleaning up and got into bed to video chat with his girlfriend that Chen Zhuo reluctantly climbed into his own bed.
Sure enough, Xie Yu was lying on his bed, lazily propping himself up with his hand, lifting half the blanket and patting it, the gesture self-evident.
The light from the fluorescent lamp filtered through the gaps in the curtain, gently illuminating Xie Yu’s playful smile, “Aren’t you coming over? Do you want me to carry you?”
Chen Zhuo’s cheeks flushed at his gaze, and he lowered his eyelashes, slowly crawling to the inside of the bed.
Before Chen Zhuo could lie down, Xie Yu stretched out an arm and pulled him into his embrace, nuzzling his nose and chuckling, “Why are you so shy? You weren’t shy when you were pulling on my belt, huh?”
Their breaths mingled, the distance between their lips less than two centimeters.
Chen Zhuo’s long eyelashes fluttered slightly, and before Xie Yu could say anything more that would make him blush, he silenced Xie Yu’s mouth with his own.
The width of the iron bunk bed in the dorm wasn’t even a meter, which was ridiculously cramped for two adult males over 1.8 meters tall.
Chen Zhuo was being held tightly in Xie Yu’s arms, with no way to avoid him or retreat.
It felt like his tattoo was being rubbed raw.
The wall in front of him was icy cold.
But the body pressed against his back was burning hot.
Chen Zhuo felt like a patient with a high fever, feeling both cold and sweaty.
Xie Yu was like a starving dog who had finally smelled meat, nibbling and grinding his teeth on the thin layer of flesh on his shoulder blade.
Chen Zhuo’s mouth was covered tightly, his eyelashes glistening with moisture.
Outside the thick curtain, he could vaguely hear Zhao Jiashu and Li Ang chatting, as if they were discussing what to eat for breakfast tomorrow.
It was too absurd.
At eleven o’clock at night, the lights in the dorm went out on time, the faint light disappeared, and everything was plunged into darkness.
Xie Yu played with the soft strands of hair on Chen Zhuo’s forehead and sighed, “Chen Zhuo, I like you so much.”
Chen Zhuo blinked slowly, only able to see Xie Yu’s blurry outline in the dimness.
But he knew that Xie Yu must be looking at him too.
Chen Zhuo pulled Xie Yu’s hand over to his heart, letting him feel the violent beating inside his chest, which was his answer.
Xie Yu chuckled softly, “Yeah, I heard it.”
In the cold winter night, Chen Zhuo, whose hands and feet were always cold, no longer needed a hot water bottle to warm the bed. Xie Yu was the best heat source.
In the early morning, Jiangbei had its first snowfall.
Driven by his biological clock, Xie Yu woke up early, looking down at Chen Zhuo, who was sound asleep in his arms.
His breathing was very light, and the little curls of hair, without any guard, looked particularly well-behaved.
Chen Zhuo was a child starved of love, like a little hedgehog. If you got too close, you’d be pricked, but if you were brave enough to get closer, you’d find softness everywhere inside.
This little hedgehog, covered in thorns, was willing to show Xie Yu his vulnerability because he knew he wouldn’t be hurt.
Xie Yu held his breath, carefully pulling out his numb arm.
Disturbed, Chen Zhuo mumbled a long string of words at him, but because he wasn’t fully awake, his voice was as quiet as a mosquito’s, and it was impossible to hear what he was saying. He could only see his lips moving.
There was no threat at all, only making Xie Yu want to kiss him to death.
However, Xie Yu only restrained himself and kissed Chen Zhuo’s forehead and cheeks.
If he made Chen Zhuo angry, he might not let him sleep with him anymore, and that would be a huge loss.
Xie Yu went to the balcony to wash up, holding a toothbrush in his mouth and looking at the expanse of white outside. His mood was as light as the swirling snowflakes.
When he woke up and the first thing he saw was Chen Zhuo, the feeling was difficult to describe in words. It was as if life could be frozen at that moment.
When he was younger, Xie Yu didn’t understand why his father was always in such a hurry to come home when he was on a business trip, often rushing back late at night after getting off the plane. It wasn’t like he was missing a few hours. It would be better to get a good night’s sleep and then come back.
Xie Yu rinsed the foam out of his mouth and now he understood that it was because he had something to worry about at home, a lover he wanted to see the moment he opened his eyes.
Xie Yu finished washing up, put on his down jacket, and tiptoed out of the door to buy food for his lazy wife and sons.
The door clicked shut.
Chen Zhuo didn’t fall back asleep, wrapped in the quilt, grinning foolishly, the lingering heat of the breath still seeming to linger in his ears.
