    Chapter 124: It’s Me

Sun Shu turned a deaf ear to his friend’s teasing. His eyes were fixed on Liang Xiuzhu on the high platform. Obscene words continued to drift from the rooms on either side of the screen.

The protagonist of their discussion was Liang Xiuzhu, who was sitting on a round chair wearing a gauze robe. Sun Shu felt a burst of frustration in his chest. He punched the window.

The loud noise immediately silenced the surrounding people, who all looked over. They saw an ordinary-looking young man clenching his bloodied fist, his face full of anger.

“Hey…” Ying Wu was also stunned for a moment, looking at the stage and then at his friend, hesitantly saying, “Could he really be your lover?”

Sun Shu ignored him and turned to go downstairs. Ying Wu grabbed him, “What are you doing?”

“You’re not thinking of forcibly taking him away, are you? Don’t be impulsive. Don’t think that Qi Meng Lou is just a brothel on the surface; the forces inside are complex. If you make a big scene, how will you explain it later?”

Ying Wu looked at his rapidly rising and falling chest, feeling incredulous while trying to persuade him to calm down, “Don’t forget our identities.”

The last sentence awakened Sun Shu, who was in a fit of rage. Taking a few deep breaths to calm himself, Sun Shu walked back to the window, watching the people who had already started bidding, and said to Ying Wu, “Lend me money, I want to buy him!”

“Ah?…” Ying Wu almost spat out a mouthful of blood. What money did he have? Who didn’t know that his money was all spent on wine?

Sun Shu stared at him intently, with such a demeanor that Ying Wu felt intimidated, “Fine, fine, fine! I really owe you one!!! Wait for me to find you some money!”

He shouldn’t have come to Qi Meng Lou today; he was cursed!

“Come, come, come, esteemed guests. Today is the debut day of our Qi Meng Lou’s young master Chenyu. I wonder which guest will have the honor of his presence?”

Madam Li stood behind Liang Xiuzhu, one hand on the back of the chair, the other using a folding fan to gently lift his chin. Her eyes swept over the eager men, smiling charmingly, “Please, esteemed guests, show some compassion.”

Liang Xiuzhu, fully aware of his fate, shed two lines of humiliating tears, his face filled with despair. This appearance was like a firework suddenly bursting in the night sky, driving everyone crazy!

Someone took the lead in bidding, “I offer five hundred taels!!!”

“I offer one thousand taels!!” Someone else was unwilling to be left behind.

“I offer one thousand five hundred taels!!” A man gritted his teeth and followed!

Sun Shu looked at Liang Xiuzhu, his eyes filled with anger, “Three thousand taels!”

Madam Li looked at the man in the second-floor window, not expecting the price to be raised to three thousand taels so quickly. Covering her face with her fan, she said, “This guest is indeed generous. Is there anyone else who wants to bid?”

The other men couldn’t restrain themselves and continued, “Three thousand five hundred taels!!”

“Five thousand taels!!” Sun Shu’s expression was cold, exuding a fierce aura. There was no hint of joy; one would think he was engaged in a life-or-death battle with someone.

Seeing him raise the price so fiercely, everyone hesitated to bid again. At this moment, another private room slowly said, “Five thousand five hundred taels!”

Sun Shu’s eyes sharply shot towards the room where the voice came from, coldly saying, “Seven thousand taels!”

The slow voice continued, “Seven thousand five hundred taels.”

The whole place was silent, watching the two of them secretly compete. Compared to the fierce-looking young man on the second floor, the person on the opposite side seemed very leisurely, never saying much, only adding five hundred taels to the other’s bid.

It was as if he was deliberately trying to cause trouble.

Sun Shu gripped the window frame tightly, unable to see the face of the person on the other side. He couldn’t help but feel a surge of murderous intent.

When Ying Wu returned with six thousand taels of silver notes, he almost fell to the ground when Sun Shu coldly spat out the sum of ten thousand taels.

“Are you crazy!!!!” Ying Wu collapsed and grabbed Sun Shu’s collar, “Where the hell am I going to find ten thousand taels for you!!!! Ahhhhh!!!”

“Are you trying to screw your brother over?!”

Sun Shu’s eyes were fixed on the window opposite, ignoring Ying Wu, who was freaking out on him.

Madam Li stood downstairs, also stunned for a while. She didn’t expect Liang Xiuzhu to be so valuable. She quickly looked at the mysterious young master in the opposite room and asked, “Does the guest want to raise the price?”

After a moment of silence, the person’s flippant voice came from the window, “A gentleman fulfills others’ wishes; I won’t cut off someone’s love.”

Madam Li turned to Sun Shu and said, “Then congratulations to this young master.”

As soon as the words fell, Sun Shu immediately pushed aside Ying Wu and hurried downstairs. Under everyone’s gaze, he walked directly onto the high platform, took off his coat, wrapped it around Liang Xiuzhu, who was slumped in the round chair, and picked him up.

“Hey, hey, hey…” Madam Li was shocked by his actions. She had never seen such an impatient customer before. “You… he…”

Holding Liang Xiuzhu, Sun Shu stared at Madam Li, his face gloomy and his tone unkind, “The antidote!”

After all, he was a general who had fought on the battlefield for many years. His fierce aura stunned Madam Li, rendering her speechless. She hurriedly ordered someone to bring the antidote and hand it to him.

After receiving the antidote, Sun Shu carried Liang Xiuzhu straight to the third floor, kicked open an empty room, and walked in.

The crowd in the hall was silent for a while, then started whistling. The noise continued; if the beautiful boy was gone, there were still beautiful girls.

Placed on the bed, Liang Xiuzhu’s heart pounded wildly. Looking at the man in front of him who had spent ten thousand taels of silver for him, his body couldn’t help but tremble, his eyes filled with pleading.

Sun Shu put the antidote into his mouth and poured him a cup of tea, feeding it to him. While waiting for the antidote to take effect, Sun Shu frowned at his attire.

Liang Xiuzhu’s already exquisite face was covered with makeup, and his lips were painted bright red, making his beautiful face look even more like a courtesan.

With disgust in his eyes, Sun Shu reached out and vigorously wiped off the rouge on his lips, revealing his original lip color. Seeing that the clothes on his body were vulgar, he directly started tearing off his clothes.

It felt like a big rock was blocking his chest. The gauze robes were wrapped around each other in layers. Sun Shu impatiently pulled hard, and with a tearing sound, the light fabric broke apart.

Liang Xiuzhu, who was recovering his strength, was almost scared to death by his actions. He desperately shrank into the bed curtains, making intermittent sounds, “Please… let me go… I’m not…”

“You’re not what? Why did you come here?” Sun Shu was exasperated, feeling that he was so brainless. He roared, “Are you stupid? Do you know what kind of place this is?”

If he hadn’t happened to be here today, he was afraid of what Liang Xiuzhu would have encountered.

Liang Xiuzhu, who was already terrified, couldn’t suppress his emotions any longer after being scolded like this, and burst into tears, “I… I’m just stupid. I deserve to be deceived!!! It’s none of your… business!! Who are you… to me!! I don’t even know you! Why are you lecturing me!!!”

Gradually, as the antidote took effect, Liang Xiuzhu spoke more smoothly, becoming more and more aggrieved.

“I’m just stupid!! So what! It’s none of your business!!”

“Wuwuwuwu!! It’s all because I have a bad life!! I deserve to be unlucky!!! Get out, you rotten people!!! Go die!!!”

Regaining some strength, Liang Xiuzhu’s emotions completely collapsed. He grabbed whatever he could find and threw it at Sun Shu, regardless of the consequences.

“Anyway, I have a worthless life. I might as well not live!”

Sun Shu looked at the hysterical Liang Xiuzhu, and a sense of guilt suddenly arose in his heart. He stepped forward, restrained his flailing hands, and hugged him, “I’m sorry, I said the wrong thing. Liang Xiuzhu, calm down. Can you calm down?”

“Get out! Don’t touch me!” Liang Xiuzhu was still very resistant.

“Liang Xiuzhu, it’s me! Sun Shu.” Sun Shu grasped his hand, forcing him to calm down, “I’m in disguise. Don’t be afraid; I won’t do anything to you. Calm down first. I’ll take you out.”
