Chapter Index
Ye Yueshen watched Gong Xunwu approach step by step. He had reached out a hand early, waiting, but after a moment, he felt it was a bit presumptuous, as if the emperor was taking it for granted that a eunuch should support him.

Thinking of this, Ye Yueshen glanced at Gong Xunwu with a slightly guilty conscience, assuming Gong Xunwu couldn’t guess his elaborate thoughts, and scooped him up into his arms, cradling him by the back of his knees.

Ye Yueshen was stunned after being hugged, his whole body stiffening.

Gong Xunwu carried the dazed beauty all the way to the bedroom and placed him on the bed, where the gauze curtains were half-drawn.

“You…” Ye Yueshen started to say, but stopped, looking at Gong Xunwu with shock as he took off his shoes and socks, pushed him to the inside of the bed, and then followed him onto the bed.

Ye Yueshen turned over and sat up, his back already pressed against the wooden carved platform. A jade vase with floating flowers sat on the palm-width surface, shaking when his head bumped into it, causing someone’s heart to flutter.

He quickly reached back to steady the vase, and when he turned his head again, Gong Xunwu was already sitting close to him. He was startled by the enlarged face and tried to shrink back, but Gong Xunwu grabbed both of his wrists, pulling him into his arms.

It was a tender yet oppressive posture. Ye Yueshen opened his mouth helplessly, but realizing his situation, he weakly pursed his lips.

But Gong Xunwu asked a serious question, “That poem you wrote the other day, recite it again.”

Ye Yueshen was bewildered, “I wrote a poem? I don’t remember when I wrote a poem.”

“At the Crown Prince’s estate banquet that day,” Gong Xunwu reminded him, “‘First watch wind, second watch snow, the sound shatters homesickness, dreams cannot be made, my old home has no such sound.’ I came back late and didn’t hear the first half.”

Ye Yueshen’s face turned a little red, and he explained, “This is not my poem; it’s Nalan Xingde’s poem.”

“Is he your classmate from the academy?”

“This…” Ye Yueshen thought for a moment, “He’s not my classmate.”

“Then who is he?” Gong Xunwu asked calmly, digging to the bottom.

“He is…” Ye Yueshen frowned, “Do you like his poems? I’ll copy them down another day, and my brother can bring them to you when he enters the palace.”

Gong Xunwu refused to let it go, “Who is he? What is his relationship to you? Why is he unheard of, yet you seem to know many of his poems?”

Ye Yueshen couldn’t explain, looking at him with complex emotions, “Don’t ask, don’t ask. How about we just kiss?”

Gong Xunwu didn’t hesitate, almost as soon as he finished speaking, he leaned in and kissed him, and they fell back onto the soft pillows, the kiss making Ye Yueshen’s head spin.

Ye Yueshen’s whole body was unbelievably soft, and his skin was so fair that it seemed as if cutting open his delicate, moist skin wouldn’t produce bright red blood, but rather puffs of milky liquid.

Gong Xunwu raised his head slightly, a gasp escaping his throat unconsciously, both of their expressions a little stiff and stagnant.

Clearly, Ye Yueshen was regretting the stupid thing he had blurted out in desperation, and Gong Xunwu understood his regret.

Suddenly, the sky darkened a lot. Gong Xunwu lowered his head slightly, touching Ye Yueshen’s cheek with his lips with great care, and then touching it again after a moment, quite fascinated.

Ye Yueshen’s gaze passed over him and looked out the window. Unknowingly, it was already late. Gong Xunwu’s weight felt like a mountain to him, making it difficult for him to breathe.

Finally unable to bear it, Ye Yueshen was overwhelmed with grievance and cried softly, closing his eyes.

He pushed Gong Xunwu as he cried, trying to escape, and Gong Xunwu was caught off guard by his crying, getting up subconsciously. Ye Yueshen seized the opportunity to sit up with a whoosh, his legs dangling off the edge of the bed as he reached for his shoes.

Gong Xunwu’s lower abdomen was burning with desire. He reached out and scooped him back by the waist, frowning and asking in a deep voice, “Where are you going?”

“I want to go home…” Ye Yueshen felt like he was crying himself silly, not knowing where all the sadness came from. He turned back, glaring at him with tear-filled eyes, and roared at him in a spoiled and petulant manner, “My mother is waiting for me to come home for dinner!”

Gong Xunwu was stunned for a moment by his roar and held him tightly in his arms, of course, not letting him leave Qi Wang Manor crying like this.

Ye Yueshen lowered his head and bit his shoulder, only biting through a layer of soft fabric. The scent of incense filled his nostrils, and Ye Yueshen released his teeth and sneezed, turning his head away.

Gong Xunwu didn’t mind and turned his face back, wiping away his tears with a handkerchief, and pinching his nose as he listened to his muffled nasal voice.

However, Gong Xunwu was clumsy at taking care of people and didn’t control his strength well. Ye Yueshen felt like his nose was about to be pinched off and quickly slapped his hand away.

“What do you like about me?” Ye Yueshen asked him.

Gong Xunwu, however, wore a different face, calmly asking him, “When did I say I liked you?”

If you don’t like me, why did you trick and threaten me into coming here? If you don’t like me, why did you hold me in your arms and kiss me?

Ye Yueshen closed his eyes, calming himself down, and followed his logic to ask, “So you grab people you hate and bring them to the manor for a kiss? What a unique way to take revenge.”

Gong Xunwu didn’t refute, and after a long silence, Ye Yueshen gently pushed him, easily breaking free from his embrace this time.

Ye Yueshen shuffled in his shoes, not even bothering to put them on properly, and pushed the door open and ran out.

There was no one in the courtyard. A bolt of lightning struck the distant mountain peak. Under the dark, cloudy sky, flocks of birds quickly flew in a certain direction.

It was about to rain, and the approaching heavy rain seemed to be emphasizing the grievance in Ye Yueshen’s heart, making him realize that he should be in a safe place right now.

If he were also a little swallow, he should be under the eaves now, or following the flocks of birds back to their nests in the woods. No animal likes to face wind and rain.

He was suddenly pulled back a few steps, falling into a broad chest. The sound of rain pattering outside the eaves quickly turned into a heavy downpour.

The silver wind chimes under the eaves shimmered, making a crisp and melodious sound. Raindrops gathered in the gutter and trickled out. The wind blew, and the chimes spun, some of the water splashing into the air, blooming into water flowers.

Ye Yueshen opened his palm. He had been pricked and hurt earlier, and it had even bled a little, but he hadn’t even noticed. Now it had turned into a reddish-brown mark.

“When did you get hurt?” Gong Xunwu carefully examined it, confirming that there was only a small cut, and wiped the blood off with a handkerchief.

Ye Yueshen said softly, “I should go to a safe place.”

“Qi Wang Manor is the safest,” Gong Xunwu said, taking him back inside.

At least the fact that they didn’t return to the bedroom relieved Ye Yueshen. They were both on the small kang in the main room. The comforter was large, and they each occupied one side without interfering with each other.

Ye Yueshen was in a semi-reclined position, with a chessboard in front of him, supporting his head with his hand, playing by himself. Anyone who didn’t know better would think he was playing chess with himself, but he was actually using the pieces to spell out a neat “dog” character.

Gong Xunwu had been reading a book. When he closed the book and prepared to get some tea, Ye Yueshen over there deliberately messed up the chessboard, like a guilty person protesting his innocence.

“Setting up a formation to curse me?” Gong Xunwu scooped him up by the waist, pulling him into his arms and holding him down. He was gradually getting used to this movement.

He also took the chessboard to the kang table, and a white jade chess piece was placed in Ye Yueshen’s palm. Gong Xunwu coaxed him near his ear, “Show me the formation you set up.”

Ye Yueshen shut his mouth and pretended to be mute. Being pinned on the bed and kissed had already dispelled the last of his luck. Gong Xunwu really intended to lay his hands on him and dared to do so.

Now Ye Yueshen was much quieter, like a docile kitten, even moving to make himself more comfortable, his eyes vacant, looking at the chessboard, single-mindedly waiting for his brother to pick him up and take him home.

He remembered when he had just started school in his previous life. The carefully cared-for little children sat in the classroom, waiting for their parents to pick them up after school.

But he just sat there blankly for a while, then quietly left school alone, returning to the relatives’ house that didn’t welcome him.

Now he also had a life worth anticipating. Thinking of this, his sadness was halved, and he even felt a bit of luck in the midst of hardship. He was a lucky king with a family.

Gong Xunwu gradually narrowed his eyes, not quite understanding the change in his emotions.

The person who had helped Ye Yueshen clean up that day walked in and whispered a few words in Gong Xunwu’s ear. Gong Xunwu made a very soft sound, like a chuckle.

When Ye Yueshen looked over, the servant seemed to have received the signal from Gong Xunwu and quietly left.

“What are you thinking about?” Gong Xunwu asked him.

“I’m not thinking about anything,” Ye Yueshen said, moving his fingers slightly, “Just waiting for time to pass.”

The rain continued to fall endlessly. When the rain gradually subsided, Ye Yueshen wanted to leave, and Gong Xunwu didn’t stop him. But when he walked to the veranda to wait for the carriage to be prepared, the rain started to fall heavily again.

Gong Xunwu, very considerate of his subordinates, suggested to him, “Wait a little longer, you don’t want them to drive the carriage for you in the heavy rain, right?”

After several attempts, Ye Yueshen realized that the carriage would not be prepared. Once, he sat on the veranda for a full quarter of an hour, and the servant who waited with him said with an embarrassed face that it still wasn’t ready.

Ye Yueshen gave up and had dinner with Gong Xunwu. He didn’t have much of an appetite, drinking more water than porridge.

Damn it, it was as if the huge Qi Wang Manor didn’t have a second bed. He could only wear Gong Xunwu’s sleeping robe and lie on the same bed with Gong Xunwu.

But Ye Yueshen had entered a state of alert, ignoring Gong Xunwu changing his sleeping robe in front of him.

He knew that Gong Xunwu was doing this for two purposes. One was that he didn’t take him seriously at all, simply changing his sleeping robe in the bedroom according to his usual habits, without needing to avoid someone insignificant to him.

The other was that his flustered and shy reaction would please Gong Xunwu.

Ye Yueshen firmly refused to provide him with this kind of entertainment, even casually scanning Gong Xunwu from top to bottom, and then making a subtle, almost imperceptible chuckle in his throat.

He was sure that Gong Xunwu must have heard that faint sound because he saw Gong Xunwu pause, then turn his head to pour tea calmly.

But it was all just pretending to be calm. Who knew what he was thinking in his heart? Just like Ye Yueshen himself was pretending to be calm, his brain was about to explode when his eyes glanced over Gong Xunwu’s lower abdomen.

“Do you want some water?” Gong Xunwu asked him.

“What?” Ye Yueshen didn’t expect him to ask this and subconsciously retorted.

Then he sullenly drank the water that Gong Xunwu handed him and was very angry. How could Gong Xunwu not care about his sneer? A conceited bastard.

Ye Yueshen lay on the inside of the bed, feigning politeness, “Are you going to sleep on the inside?” It seemed like people of high status should sleep on the inside, and less important people should sleep on the outside, to serve water at night, like in the TV series.

    “Your inside?”

The bedroom was so quiet that time seemed to stand still. Ye Yueshen had underestimated Gong Xunwu’s shamelessness.

Gong Xunwu looked at him with a playful expression, “What are you thinking about?”

“I’m thinking…” Ye Yueshen said, “You should sleep on the outside, let the rain wash your brain.”

“What’s wrong with my brain?” Gong Xunwu’s playful expression deepened, “So you thought…”

Ye Yueshen interrupted him, “I thought there were only two of us on this bed. If you don’t sleep on my inside, do you want to sleep on the inside of the wall?” He didn’t want to admit that he understood Gong Xunwu’s insinuation.

Gong Xunwu watched him try to hide the truth by including himself, and he curled his lips, lying on Ye Yueshen’s outside with great satisfaction, even tucking him in.

Ye Yueshen cursed inwardly. Gong Xunwu was too cunning and had still pleased him.

He lay next to Gong Xunwu, not even daring to turn over, for fear that he would accidentally give Gong Xunwu an excuse to act. He didn’t want to lose his virginity on a night when he was in a terrible mood and filled with fear.
