WSIDIILMBOCIR Chapter 45
by VolareChapter 45: Realizing the Misunderstanding
Once autumn arrives, the weather turns cold very quickly. When Qin Yuanging isn’t wearing a suit, he chooses a trench coat, which further accentuates his already superior figure, making him appear even more tall and upright.
After work, Qin Yuanging drove to Asia Whale Bay; Zhang Zhaolin had organized a gathering for the evening.
Over the past month, his relationship with Li Chongge was neither distant nor close, still maintaining contact every few days.
But it wasn’t exactly close either; since Qin Yuanging moved back home and completely handed over the resort project, the two of them didn’t have much time to meet.
This past month, they basically maintained a frequency of seeing each other once a week.
Qin Yuanging suddenly had a lot of free time. To avoid thinking about random things, he now kept his schedule very full, and he would basically go to any gathering someone organized.
However, Qin Yuanging was picky; he still wouldn’t go to chaotic and smoky places.
So, in reality, it was basically the same few people coming and going.
Tonight, they were meeting at Deng Weien’s private club to play cards.
Tang Jingxuan was also there.
He didn’t know what method Zhang Zhaolin used to appease him, but Tang Jingxuan looked much more energetic than the last time they met.
“Mr. Qin, thank you very much for what happened last time.”
Qin Yuanging waved his hand, not really caring: “It was just a small effort. Even if I didn’t help you, Zhang Zhaolin would just be squatting outside; could he really have resisted?”
Tang Jingxuan smiled embarrassedly and then brought up Yang Yanqing.
“I’ve already reminded Xiao Yan. I told him not to bother you again. I hope you can forgive his offense.”
Tang Jingxuan was greatly shocked after learning about Yang Yanqing’s thoughts. He knew very well who Qin Yuanging had in his heart. Yang Yanqing daring to get close would definitely not end well.
“It’s not really an offense, but I indeed don’t like being disturbed.”
Tang Jingxuan nodded apologetically, indicating that there definitely wouldn’t be a next time.
When Qin Yuanging was in high spirits, he received a call from Li Chongge.
“Do you still have that cardholder for your ID card?”
“I threw it in the car with my ID card.”
After Qin Yuanging took it out last time, he had been leaving it in the car and hadn’t taken it out. He hadn’t needed his ID card recently.
“It’s in the car you drove today?”
Qin Yuanging thought carefully and gave a light hum of agreement.
“Where are you? I’ll come get it now.”
Qin Yuanging: “?”
He didn’t think Li Chongge would be so stingy as to haggle over a cardholder with him.
“Is it important?”
Li Chongge paused and said, “Yes, this cardholder has special meaning.”
Actually, it didn’t. It was just that the cardholder was double-sided, with Qin Yuanging’s ID card on one side and a photo of Qin Yuanging from his student days on the other.
That was something Li Chongge had absentmindedly tucked in while staring at Qin Yuanging’s ID card.
That photo was very old. It was the first photo Li Chongge had carefully hidden away after realizing what he felt for Qin Yuanging.
A photo that even Qin Yuanging himself didn’t know about, yet it had been treasured by Li Chongge for many years. If Qin Yuanging saw it, it would probably be hard for him not to overthink things.
Fortunately, Qin Yuanging was carefree enough that he hadn’t opened it to look at it until now.
“I’m at Deng Weien’s club. Come on over.”
Qin Yuanging hung up the phone, feeling very uncomfortable in his heart.
That meaningful cardholder… he wondered who had given it to him.
Anyway, it wasn’t something he’d given.
Realizing that his emotions were getting out of control again, Qin Yuanging quickly distracted himself, focusing on playing cards.
Li Chongge arrived quickly. However, as soon as he reached the floor Qin Yuanging had sent, he saw Yang Yanqing’s figure.
Probably Qin Yuanging brought him here…
It seemed Qin Yuanging liked him quite a bit, taking him everywhere.
Li Chongge suppressed the bitterness in his heart. Just as he was about to step forward, he saw Tang Jingxuan quickly walk out of a private room.
“What are you doing here?”
“Is Mr. Qin here?”
During their exchange, Li Chongge finally realized that Yang Yanqing must have come on his own. Qin Yuanging hadn’t brought him.
Tang Jingxuan was both angry and anxious, which ultimately turned into a helpless sigh: “Xiao Yan, can’t you understand? Mr. Qin simply isn’t interested in you. Why do you have to provoke him? Do you really think he’s as good-tempered as he looks?”
Yang Yanqing grabbed Tang Jingxuan’s hand, his tone pleading: “Brother Xuan, please help me! I really like him! Ask Mr. Zhang to think of something. They’re friends; Mr. Qin will listen to him!”
“Xiao Yan.” Tang Jingxuan’s expression turned completely cold. “Do you think I’m joking with you? Who do you think I am? I’m just a plaything! I can barely protect myself; how can I help you?”
Yang Yanqing’s hand slowly fell, his head hanging low.
“I already tried to advise you when you were blocking Mr. Qin at one hotel after another. You didn’t listen to me. Fortunately, he didn’t take it to heart, or I wouldn’t know what to do!”
Tang Jingxuan softened his tone, dragging him towards the elevator.
“Mr. Qin has someone he likes. Don’t waste your feelings on him anymore. Go back. He already explicitly warned me earlier. Don’t make things difficult for me.”
Yang Yanqing remained silent, being pushed forward like a puppet.
Faintly sensing someone ahead, Tang Jingxuan suddenly looked up. When he saw who it was, a cold sweat instantly broke out on his back.
How much of what he had said had he heard?
“Mr. Li, hello.”
Li Chongge nodded, his footsteps still steady, but his heart was already surging with huge waves.
He had misunderstood Qin Yuanging… and said those things to him.
Li Chongge’s heart was beating rapidly.
Then that night… why did Qin Yuanging provoke him like that?
Right, Tang Jingxuan had just said that Qin Yuanging had someone he liked.
Who could it be? Could it be him, Li Chongge?
Why couldn’t it be him!
Li Chongge hadn’t figured out what to do, but he knew that there was no need to specifically go back to get that cardholder.
Therefore, Li Chongge didn’t go in. He took the elevator back down, saying that he had something to do tonight and wouldn’t be joining them.
He didn’t care whether this excuse was full of holes. He had more important things to do now.
Sure enough, right after Qin Yuanging finished Li Chongge’s call, Tang Jingxuan asked about Li Chongge, saying that he had seen him outside earlier.
Qin Yuanging felt that Li Chongge’s thoughts were even harder to guess than those of ancient emperors.
On the way back, Qin Yuanging took out the cardholder from the car and looked at it carefully, not finding anything particularly special about it.
But since Li Chongge wanted it, he planned to take out the ID card and just return an empty cardholder to him later.
However, what he casually pulled out didn’t seem to be an ID card, but a photo.
A photo of himself.
The youthful face and dull colors told Qin Yuanging that this photo was very old.
But it had been carefully preserved, and kept until today.
Qin Yuanging leaned back in the car seat, looking very lost.
Li Chongge, what do you mean by all this?
