    Chapter 28: Not a Bother

Li Chongge was worried about Qin Yuanging and woke up several times during the night, but Qin Yuanging was always sleeping soundly not far from him. He repeatedly checked Qin Yuanging’s forehead countless times, and only felt relieved when he didn’t detect anything abnormal.

Yesterday was still a stormy day, but today the sky cleared after the rain. Gentle morning light shone through the cracks in the curtains, illuminating Qin Yuanging’s face, but it couldn’t wake him up.

The fatigue after the fever was still heavy, and his body still needed rest.

Li Chongge only slept for six hours, waking up at six thirty.

After waking up, he turned over and looked at Qin Yuanging for half an hour before getting up to send a message to Secretary Liu, asking her to change the morning meeting to an online conference.

Li Chongge opened Qin Yuanging’s refrigerator, only to find some ingredients that weren’t exactly fresh, and then put them all in the trash.

Li Chongge took the car keys and prepared to go to the supermarket, but just as he reached the door, he turned back to the bedroom, took off his watch and placed it on the bedside table, so that Qin Yuanging would know he was only temporarily away if he woke up in between.

Sure enough, not long after Li Chongge left, Qin Yuanging sat up in a semi-conscious state, saw the seven-figure watch lying quietly on the bedside table, and contentedly shrank back into bed.

Li Chongge didn’t expect to learn to cook in just one day, let alone with Qin Yuanging still sick, he wouldn’t easily try.

So when he went out, he only bought some fruits and milk, and also filled Qin Yuanging’s refrigerator.

Li Chongge had just finished a video conference at ten o’clock when Qin Yuanging walked out of the bedroom in his pajamas, swaying unsteadily.

    “Li Chongge, I’m hungry.”

Li Chongge helped him sit down on the sofa and went to the kitchen to bring him porridge and two small dishes.

“I called the doctor and he suggested you don’t eat greasy or spicy food right now. These two dishes were made by the nanny at home and sent over, so eat something simple.”

“Didn’t you go to work?” Qin Yuanging moved from the sofa to the dining table, his tone a little downcast. “I’m troubling you again.”

Li Chongge watched Qin Yuanging holding chopsticks, his face pale, and still saying these inexplicable things to him. Besides sighing, he really didn’t know how to react.

“You also took care of me, twice. And you took good care of me.”

“Besides, Qin Yuanging, you’re better than me, you can cook, but I can only have someone else make it and send it over.”

    “I never think you’re a bother.”

Li Chongge really wanted to ruffle Qin Yuanging’s messy hair, but felt that this action might make Qin Yuanging uncomfortable, so Li Chongge just looked at him as sincerely as possible.

When Li Chongge said this, Qin Yuanging did feel a little better. He didn’t want to burden others, especially Li Chongge.

    “I know… thank you.”

Li Chongge took the washed fruit out of the refrigerator and asked him lightly, “Did you forget what I said?”

Qin Yuanging remembered, Li Chongge didn’t want him to say thank you.

But Qin Yuanging actually didn’t agree. Even family members could say thank you, so why couldn’t friends?

    “Feeling more comfortable?”

“Nothing else, just feel a little heavy.”

Qin Yuanging held the chopsticks and moved his body, not feeling any discomfort.

“Why did you suddenly get a fever? Did you get caught in the rain yesterday?”

The only reason Li Chongge could think of for Qin Yuanging’s fever was the heavy rain yesterday.

But he knew very well that Qin Yuanging had stayed in the office honestly yesterday afternoon, and wouldn’t have gotten caught in the rain driving straight home from the garage.

Speaking of this, Qin Yuanging swayed to the entrance and took out the pastries he bought yesterday from the nearby cabinet.

“Look at this, I passed by that shop when I was driving yesterday and bought some. I remember you liked them quite a bit, want to try some?”

    Li Chongge pursed his lips.

“You got out of the car midway to buy this?”

Qin Yuanging didn’t have the habit of keeping an umbrella in the car. Although Li Chongge had reminded him many times, he had never taken it to heart.

So if Qin Yuanging got out of the car midway, he would definitely get caught in the rain.

Qin Yuanging felt inexplicably guilty under Li Chongge’s stern gaze.

“I parked on the side of the road and ran in, it was a very short distance, I didn’t expect the rain to be so heavy…”

“I’ll put an umbrella in your car later, don’t throw it away, okay?”

    “Okay.”

Li Chongge softened his expression and asked him again, “Did you buy it specially for me?”

Qin Yuanging stubbornly denied, “I wanted to eat it myself, so I brought some for you.”

Li Chongge didn’t say anything else and went to work.

He didn’t take the day off today, but just switched to working from home.

In the afternoon, Li Chongge had to go to work. Before leaving, he checked Qin Yuanging’s forehead one last time.

“The thermometer is on the bedside table, take your temperature again, and call me directly if you get a fever again.”

“The fruits are all washed, but you still can’t eat too much, otherwise it won’t digest well.”

“If you can fall asleep, then continue sleeping, put work aside for now.”

Li Chongge rarely had so much to say, and Qin Yuanging nodded obediently, not wanting to worry him anymore.

After seeing Li Chongge off, Qin Yuanging felt that the house was suddenly empty. He lay on the bed and played with his phone for a while before finally falling asleep.

But fortunately, after waking up in the afternoon, he was completely refreshed. Not only did he not feel uncomfortable, but he even felt refreshed.

At four o’clock, Sun Qihao’s phone call came.

“Are you free? Want to go out for dinner tonight?”

Qin Yuanging hesitated, and Sun Qihao added, “Let’s have a heart-to-heart talk between brothers.”

Probably knowing what Sun Qihao wanted to say, and Qin Yuanging also wanted him to advise him, he agreed.

At times, Sun Qihao’s sharp and sarcastic mouth was quite useful.

“Give me a location, I’ll head over based on the time. Let me say this first, I took medicine, so I can’t drink.”

“Okay, I’ll send the address to your phone. Leave a little earlier to avoid getting stuck in traffic later.”

Qin Yuanging opened his phone, and the restaurant Sun Qihao had booked was the same one Jiang Muyuan had taken him to on the day he returned to the country.

    It wasn’t too far away.

Qin Yuanging moved to Li Chongge’s side of the bed like a thief, and lay there for a while before getting up to clean himself up.

At five thirty, he took the car keys and went out.

He originally wanted to tell Li Chongge, but Qin Yuanging guessed that he had delayed some things in the morning and should still be busy, so he didn’t want to disturb him.

Moreover, he only planned to have a meal, chat with Sun Qihao for a few words and then come back, it wouldn’t be too late.

There was no traffic on the road, and Qin Yuanging arrived at the private room Sun Qihao mentioned in less than thirty minutes.

Qin Yuanging pushed open the door, and there was only an unfamiliar young man inside, looking only in his early twenties.

    “Excuse me, wrong room.”

Qin Yuanging backed out and took out his phone to call Sun Qihao.

The young man immediately stood up and called out to him, “Mr. Qin, right? You didn’t go to the wrong room, this is the right one. Mr. Sun is on his way and will be here soon.”
