6 Chapter 6 So Beautiful

Wan Wuyu looked at Chang Le in disbelief. “Chang Le! How dare you attack me? Was everything you ever said to me just pretense and sweet talk?”

Chang Le shook her head. “No, Princess… I am sincere toward the Princess, but I cannot stand by and watch you kill them.”

Wan Qixiu said, “Now, none of you will escape.”

Wan Wuyu opened her mouth. Although having her brother’s help meant greater odds of victory, Chang Le was right. If they were all captured and taken back to the Vast Brilliance Immortal Sect, her great-aunt would definitely not spare them. For a moment, she didn’t know whether she should strike. Even though Chang Le had hurt her, she still considered Chang Le her only good friend.

Chun Yu said to Chang Le, “I’ll deal with Wan Qixiu. You find an opportunity to seize Wan Wuyu!”

“Understood.” Chang Le nodded. She looked at Wan Wuyu with a hint of reluctance and said, “Forgive me, Princess.”

Wan Wuyu had a magical artifact on her, so Chang Le couldn’t capture her immediately, but since Chang Le had entered the demonic path, her magical power had doubled. Wan Wuyu couldn’t resist her for long.

Suddenly, a powerful suction force pulled Wan Wuyu, and she uncontrollably flew toward Chang Le.

Chang Le immediately grabbed Wan Wuyu by the neck.

Chang Le said, “Wan Qixiu, stop!”

Wan Qixiu looked up and realized that Wuyu was in Chang Le’s hands.

Chun Yu immediately retreated from the attack range and stood in front of Bai Xi and the others to protect them.

Wan Qixiu frowned. “If you harm Wuyu, I will surely grind all of you to dust.”

Chun Yu said, “We won’t hurt her. We just want to send these little demons back to the Demon Realm.”

Wan Wuyu, furious, shouted, “Brother, don’t mind me! Kill them quickly!”

Wan Qixiu said, “Fine, I will let them return to the Demon Realm. Everyone, move aside.” With that, he ordered his disciples to clear a path.

Chang Le said to Chun Yu, “Hurry and leave with them.”

Chun Yu immediately summoned her flying sword and took the rabbit demon family away from Demon Realm Mountain.

Chang Le looked at Wan Wuyu with some guilt. “Princess, I know you won’t forgive me, but I cannot watch these innocent demons die here. This time, I deceived and wronged the Princess. After this is over, no matter how the Princess wishes to punish me, Chang Le will accept it without complaint.”

She pushed Wan Wuyu toward Wan Qixiu and then flew away.

Wan Qixiu caught Wan Wuyu. “Are you alright?”

    Wan Wuyu shook her head.

“Pursue them!” Wan Qixiu commanded his disciples.

Wan Wuyu said, “Forget it! They are heading to the Demon Realm to seek death anyway. The Demon King is not someone to be trifled with.”

Wan Qixiu also felt that Wan Wuyu was right, so he led his disciples back to the Vast Brilliance Immortal Sect.

Wan Wuyu felt an indescribable emotion in her heart. Chang Le had deceived her and threatened her. She should hate Chang Le, and even if Chang Le died, it had nothing to do with her. She should be happy, but thinking that Chang Le was leaving with no return, she didn’t feel so joyful.

Wan Wuyu suddenly stopped. Without saying anything to Wan Qixiu, she turned and flew in the opposite direction.

The disciples behind her immediately reported to Wan Qixiu.

“Wuyu?” Wan Qixiu watched Wan Wuyu leave, his brows furrowed.

    Demon Realm.

Due to prolonged warfare, the Demon Realm was desolate. Many demon clans were homeless and starving.

Chun Yu, Li Yuan, and Chang Le first followed Bai Xi back to her home.

    “Father! Mother!”

Bai Xi and her younger siblings rushed over when they saw their father drawing water from the well.

Bai Xi’s father was emaciated from hunger, his clothes ragged. The thatched hut where the family lived was also dilapidated.

Chun Yu said to Li Yuan, “Other children write beautiful fairy tales when they are young. Why did you write about a world ravaged by war?”

Li Yuan said, “It’s just a world in a book. You just need to treat them as fake and observe dispassionately, right?”

Chun Yu said, “But we are personally experiencing these things now. There’s no way we can observe dispassionately.”

Seeing that her father was about to faint from hunger, Bai Xi quickly took out the dried fruits for him to eat.

Bai Xi’s father shook his head. “Your grandparents and your mother are still inside. I’m not hungry yet. Give it to them first, give it to them first.”

Bai Xi said, “Father, please take a bite first. There is plenty more.”

But her father still refused to eat.

Chang Le walked over and said, “I brought a lot of food in my Qiankun Bag. It should be enough for you to eat for a while.”

Chang Le took out the Qiankun Bag and retrieved the food, piling a mound of provisions on the ground.

Only then did Bai Xi’s father feel relieved enough to eat.

He said, “Thank you, Immortal Master, for saving our lives. But many of our rabbit clan people are starving, and people from other clans are suffering too. This amount of food won’t last long.”

    “Isn’t it just food?”

A familiar voice drifted over. Chun Yu and Chang Le turned around, and it was Wan Wuyu.

Wan Wuyu drew a line in the air with her golden hairpin, and instantly, countless sacks of grain dropped from the void into the Bai family courtyard, quickly forming a small hill.

Wan Wuyu put away her golden hairpin and said, “This golden hairpin of mine is connected to the granary of the Vast Eternity Kingdom. It’s just food. I can get as much as I want. Now, hurry up and kneel to thank this Princess?”

Bai Xi’s father immediately led his children to kneel. “Thank you, Princess, for saving our lives! Thank you, Princess, for saving our lives!”

Chun Yu asked, puzzled, “Wan Wuyu? Why are you here?”

Chang Le immediately shielded the white rabbit family. “Princess, I won’t let you take them away.”

Wan Wuyu folded her arms and scoffed. “Don’t worry, I came alone. I just wanted to see what could make you betray the friendship we shared since childhood.”

    Chang Le remained silent.

Chun Yu said, “Wan Wuyu, stop standing there making sarcastic remarks. Since you’re here, hurry up and help cook. Can’t you see everyone is starving?”

Chang Le said, “It’s alright, Princess. Please sit down. I can handle these things.”

Chang Le fetched a stool for Wan Wuyu, but Wan Wuyu kicked it away. “It’s just cooking. Who doesn’t know how to do that!”

Wan Wuyu stood with her hands on her hips, confronting Chun Yu, and then began dividing the grain to cook porridge and steam buns.

The Bai family courtyard suddenly became lively. The little rabbits also helped with the chores and cooking, and the aroma of food soon wafted out.

Villagers, smelling the scent, walked over, standing pitifully at the entrance of the Bai family courtyard.

Soon after, Bai Xi opened the door and told everyone to go back and get their bowls and bags to collect food.

Late at night, they finally finished distributing the food to the villagers. Chun Yu was so tired that she collapsed onto the mat and immediately fell asleep.

Li Yuan smiled, looking at her. She walked out of the room and went toward Chang Le’s side.

Although she had written the story, too much time had passed, and she no longer remembered the details in between. To prevent Chun Yu from encountering danger, she had to eavesdrop. Fortunately, her current state was perfect for listening in.

The Bai family didn’t have many rooms, so Chang Le and Wan Wuyu shared one.

Li Yuan floated in and sat by the table, watching Chang Le make the bed for Wan Wuyu.

Chang Le said, “It’s ready, Princess. You can rest now.”

Wan Wuyu sat on the bed, watching Chang Le holding a quilt, about to spread it on the floor.

She asked, “What are you doing?”

Chang Le said, “The Princess sleeps on the bed. I’ll sleep on the floor.”

Wan Wuyu frowned. “How can you sleep on such a dirty floor? Fine, fine. You can share the bed with this Princess.”

Chang Le said, “Princess, that is against the rules.”

Wan Wuyu patted the bed. “Why so much nonsense? Do you want to defy me again?”

Chang Le still hesitated. “No, Princess. It’s just that the bed is too small. I’m afraid the Princess won’t sleep comfortably.”

Wan Wuyu said, “We’re in a place like this. Just make do.”

With that, she lay down on the inner side of the bed first.

Chang Le had no choice but to extinguish the lamp and lie down as well.

Li Yuan remained seated at the table. She had expected to hear some news, but instead, she had spent a long time watching the two of them argue about the bed. She was surprisingly engrossed.

After sitting for a while longer, confirming that they were about to sleep, Li Yuan got up to leave.

At that moment, she saw Wan Wuyu’s hand hovering over Chang Le’s forehead. She was instantly shocked, thinking Wan Wuyu was going to kill Chang Le to silence her.

But Wan Wuyu didn’t do as she expected. Her fingers lingered in the air, tracing from Chang Le’s forehead to her eyebrows and eyes, and then to her lips.

That hand remained suspended in the void. The proudest Eldest Princess of the Vast Eternity Kingdom seemed to have something she dared not do.

Li Yuan unconsciously held her breath. Her heart seemed to pound faster. Something felt like it had been unlocked.

Li Yuan returned to Chun Yu’s room. The candle inside was still lit, and she couldn’t even bring herself to snuff it out.

Chun Yu’s sleeping face was clearly illuminated by the candlelight.

For the first time, Li Yuan observed closely and realized that Chun Yu’s features were actually quite striking.

She always seemed so optimistic. No matter what happened, she always sought to change things objectively, like a newborn calf unafraid of the tiger. She was full of vitality.

Li Yuan had never attended Chun Yu’s lectures before. Now, she really wanted to know: what could she teach her?
