    Game 1

Shen Luo sat blankly by the bed, unable to say a word, but just thinking about it made his eyes blurry with tears, and An Yu didn’t ask any questions.

In the next few days, Shen Luo would always stare out the window in a daze, and he no longer passed the alley he used to pass by. An Yu would just follow him silently, and Liang Qian would not touch this bad luck.

The two of them tried their best to make him happy, but Shen Luo remained calm. When they were helpless, Fei Zhu called him out alone.

“Shen Luo, there is a competition in the first half of next year. It is jointly organized by major famous schools. I would like to recommend you to participate.”

Fei Zhu just told him the news and did not make a decision for him. Shen Luo did not agree immediately. He only said that he would go back and think about it. When Fei Zhu saw that he was willing to consider it, he handed him a registration form. Shen Luo saw the parents column on it at a glance.

“Does this have to be signed by parents?”

Fei Zhu sorted out the work at hand and answered him: “Yes, after all, you are still minors, and your parents still need to decide anything. However, parents will agree to such a good thing. You can go back and think about it carefully, and just give it to me this Friday.”

Shen Luo’s face finally felt a little looser, and the corner of the registration form in his hand had been deformed by his pinching. On the way back to class, he carefully folded the registration form and put it in his coat, and then returned to his seat as if nothing had happened.

He didn’t say another word until he went back in the evening. When An Yu picked up his coat, something fell out. An Yu looked at the depressed Shen Luo and picked it up without opening it, but returned it to him immediately.

“You have to put things away. It will be sad if they are lost.”

Shen Luo raised his eyes to observe him and stiffly took what he handed over. An Yu smiled knowingly and said, “Put it away, I didn’t look at it.”

Shen Luo then took it and put it away with peace of mind, looking at An Yu’s busy back in trance.

On Thursday night, Fei Zhu looked at the bare desk and couldn’t help but call Shen Luo to the office. The two were silent for a long time. Fei Zhu was sure that Shen Luo wouldn’t speak first, so he tried to keep his tone as calm as possible and asked him: “Shen Luo, have you considered it? I need to submit this registration form to the school first and then hand it over to the competition. I may not have enough time.”

Shen Luo kept clasping the back of his hands, and his fair skin was covered with red marks. He hesitated again and again, and the words of rejection kept swirling on his lips. He really didn’t want to miss this game, so he could only ask him for one night.

Fei Zhu had no choice but to let him go, then called Liang Qian over and told him about the matter. Liang Qian recalled that Shen Luo had told him that he could count on one hand in the past few days, but he had never heard him mention it. Now he had no intention of listening to what Fei Zhu had to say, and just wanted to go back and question him quickly.

“Why don’t you go for such a good opportunity?”

The words came out before Liang Qian’s butt touched the chair. An Yu put down the book in his hand and looked at him. Shen Luo didn’t answer. Suddenly, Shen Luo stood up and rushed out of the classroom when Liang Qian asked questions.

He came to the office and asked Fei Zhu for a night off, then left the school at night and stopped a car at the intersection.

When he mustered up the courage to stand at the gate of the community, his heart was trembling, and the white breath coming out of his mouth was the pain he endured from being stripped away.

Shen Luo held the registration form and gently knocked on the closed door. The person who opened the door was Su Shangjun. He looked inside with some surprise before letting him in. Shen Meng was sitting on the sofa, still chewing melon seeds.

Shen Meng just glanced at him lightly, and then asked: “Shouldn’t you be studying in the evening now? Why are you back?”

It was obvious that the furnishings here had not changed, but Shen Luo felt very strange. He stood awkwardly at the entrance. The pair of slippers that belonged to him in the shoe cabinet had already fallen into a layer of dust. Su Shangjun pulled him into the living room and asked him in a gentle voice why he was back. Shen Luo swallowed unconsciously when he saw Shen Meng’s eyebrows getting closer and closer. He didn’t know how to speak, and after a while of mental preparation, he slowly spoke.

“I took a leave of absence from the teacher tonight and wanted to ask you to sign something.”

After saying that, she put the crumpled paper in her hand on the coffee table. Shen Meng picked it up and glanced at it lightly. Her frown never relaxed, and then she threw it back again.

    “You’re not allowed to go.”
