    Chapter 69: What a Coincidence

Even though Yun Yi had anticipated it, his fingers still trembled when he received the results.

After staring at it for three seconds, he clenched his fist, instantly tearing it to shreds.

Yun Yi stood at the bottom of the stairs, his gaze fixed on the green plants in front of him.

    “Pervert!”

Yun Yi cursed softly, his ears turning red.

After he left, the wind rustled the fragments in the trash can.

On top of the pile of crumpled paper, the words [13. Burning scents can help stabilize an Omega’s heat] were clearly visible.

Upon seeing this, Yun Yi’s mind immediately flashed back to Jiang Qiu’s question in his ear.

His voice was low and hoarse, laced with desire as he asked him when his heat would return.

Yun Yi clenched his fingers, speechless at Jiang Qiu’s behavior.

Yun Yi didn’t throw away the half-burned incense stick from the box, nor did he confront Jiang Qiu about it.

However, that evening, after dinner, Yun Yi locked his door, trapping the alpha who usually brought him fruit downstairs outside.

Jiang Qiu held a plate of washed strawberries in one hand and pushed down on the doorknob with the other, but it wouldn’t open.

A rare hint of confusion flickered in his dark eyes.

    “Young Master?”

Yun Yi remained silent, pretending not to hear.

“…Did I make you angry?” Jiang Qiu asked, feeling uneasy.

This was the first time in all his time with Yun Yi that he had been locked out. Usually, Yun Yi wouldn’t lock the door, even when shooing him away or scolding him.

He suddenly felt a sense of abandonment.

Jiang Qiu couldn’t figure out what he had done wrong. If there was anything, it could only be that he had been too forceful while holding the young master in the bathroom earlier. After a few seconds of hesitation, he said, “Young Master, I was wrong… Will you wash yourself next time?”

Yun Yi paused, still feeling the lingering arousal. He bit his lip, not saying anything, his expression already impatient.

When Jiang Qiu didn’t receive an answer, he knocked on the door again. “…Xiao Yi.”

    “Bang!”

The sound of porcelain breaking echoed from inside the room, followed by Yun Yi’s angry voice: “Jiang Qiu, shut up!”

Jiang Qiu pursed his lips, hanging his head with a look of grievance. He hadn’t done anything, or if he had, it was something he had done countless times before.

The young master had never been angry about it before.

But then he thought, as long as Yun Yi was willing to acknowledge him, it was enough.

When Yun Yi didn’t eat the washed strawberries, Jiang Qiu didn’t leave either, sitting by the door with the glass bowl in his hands.

His eyes were fixed on each red strawberry.

    Then he sighed softly.

He had personally chosen the biggest and most beautiful ones.

It was a pity he wouldn’t eat them.

After a while, Jiang Qiu picked one up and knocked lightly on the door, saying softly, “Young Master, I tasted the strawberry. It’s very sweet.”

There was no response from inside. He continued, “It’s really sweet, even sweeter than the ones we bought before.”

“Can you open the door, please?”

Jiang Qiu didn’t receive an answer until late at night. Finally, unable to wait any longer, he got up and went to the utility room. A moment later, he appeared at Yun Yi’s door with a wire in his left hand.

    “Click—”

Jiang Qiu smiled softly, picked up the bowl of strawberries, and entered the room. As he sensed the omega pheromones, his smile deepened.

Yun Yi woke up the next day feeling speechless.

Even locking the door couldn’t keep him out.

    He was truly defeated.

As he moved, Jiang Qiu, who was holding him tightly, also woke up, greeting him as usual: “Young Master, you’re awake?”

    “Heh.”

    Jiang Qiu: “…”

Yun Yi’s laughter instantly reminded him of what he had done the day before, and he felt a little embarrassed, but he didn’t regret it.

He nuzzled the back of Yun Yi’s neck without changing his expression. “Young Master, do I sleepwalk?”

Yun Yi bent his knees and kicked backwards. “Get out!”

Jiang Qiu separated his knees, firmly clamping Yun Yi’s feet. As if he had found his owner, he affectionately hugged Yun Yi. “I won’t.”

“I don’t want to get out.”

Yun Yi gritted his teeth and said angrily, “You picked the lock?”

Last night, he had locked the door and the windows, so not even a fly could get in, yet Jiang Qiu had somehow managed to get in and was now holding him as usual.

    “…Sorry.”

    “Shameless!”

Jiang Qiu didn’t dare to say anything. The young master smelled so good, felt so soft, and looked so cute when he was angry.

He had already held back while bathing him last night.

    And now even more so.

    He wanted…

Yun Yi pulled his foot back without any restraint, propping himself up and kneeling on the bed. When he saw Jiang Qiu occupying half the bed, he bristled even more.

He used his hands and feet to push him down. “Jiang Qiu, get out, get out, get out!”

Jiang Qiu couldn’t help but laugh. He grabbed Yun Yi’s wrist and flipped over, instantly reversing their positions.

Lying on the bed, Yun Yi clearly hadn’t expected Jiang Qiu to attack him suddenly. He stared with wide eyes, blankly looking at Jiang Qiu in front of him.

Jiang Qiu’s thin lips curved up, his eyes hiding deep affection. He stared straight into Yun Yi’s eyes, and as he lowered his body, he asked, “Xiao Yi, can I kiss you?”

He didn’t wait for Yun Yi’s answer before sealing his lips.

If he didn’t hear a rejection, it didn’t count as a rejection.

Not being rejected meant being accepted.

Yun Yi’s pale pupils trembled slightly, his eyelashes fluttering, and finally, his struggling hands turned into a grip on Jiang Qiu’s shoulders.

Jiang Qiu rarely went all the way, afraid that Yun Yi, who wasn’t in heat, wouldn’t be able to handle it.

But he would make Yun Yi happy, leaving a mark on the back of his neck while the omega was lost in the moment.

Just hold on a little longer.

The young master’s health would definitely improve.

    He would have a heat.

    *

Three days before the start of school, Jiang Qiu got off work early and rode his bicycle towards the Yun family.

The weather at the end of August was still a bit hot, and a cool breeze brushed against him. The smile on Jiang Qiu’s lips never faded.

He had been waiting for this day for a long time.

But when he got home, he frowned deeply.

It was Yun Yi’s birthday, and many people had come, including the Yun family.

The Wen family was also there, but Wen Jiu hadn’t appeared in a long time, and Yun Yi didn’t bother to ask about him.

    The birthday star appeared last.

Yun Yi didn’t bother to dress up and was still wearing home-wear clothes.

But even like this, it was enough to attract the attention of many people.

His health had been poor since he was a child, and Yun Chongshan had only held a handful of birthday banquets for him over the years. He didn’t know what he was thinking this time.

Yun Cheng sat next to Wen Heng, watching Yun Yi come down the stairs with a smile. He whispered a few words in his ear, then got up and walked towards Yun Yi.

Yun Yi’s expression was indifferent, and he didn’t react much when he saw Yun Cheng.

“Xiao Yi, happy birthday.” Yun Cheng held a gift box and handed it to Yun Yi, with his signature smile still in place. “Xiao Jiu also said that he wanted me to give it to you, so that Xiao Yi could have a happy birthday.”

Jiang Qiu stepped forward, staring at Yun Cheng expressionlessly, then was stopped by Yun Yi’s gaze.

A servant nearby took the gift. Yun Yi tilted his head and smiled, “What a coincidence, I also prepared a gift for elder sister.”
