Chapter 2: First Meeting with Song Yichen

    “Brother, you’re here.”

Qi Zhe heard Gu Ze’s voice and looked towards the door, as if seeing a savior.

    “Young Master Song.”

Shen Xingyang also looked over. Song Yichen looked impatient, his hands in the pockets of his white coat, looking a bit annoyed.

Shen Xingyang immediately stopped talking and just stared blankly at Song Yichen.

This was the first time in this life that he had met Song Yichen, who knew nothing about him as he was now.

Song Yichen walked to the side and looked at Shen Xingyang with interest, then at his tied hands and feet.

He tugged at the ropes; they were tied very tightly.

“Untie him and let me see if our young master Shen can make more trouble than my patients with mental disorders.”

He, Song Yichen, studied psychology and had seen all kinds of people. He wanted to see how capable someone Gu Ze couldn’t handle could be.

Gu Ze nodded and went up to untie Shen Xingyang, but at this moment, Shen Xingyang was extremely obedient, not at all irrational as he had been before.

Song Yichen raised his wrist, which already had marks, but there was no congestion.

“Have someone prepare a blood transfusion for him in an hour.”

Gu Ze nodded and led Qi Zhe out of the ward to prevent them from disturbing Song Yichen.

“Did you ask Young Master Song to come?”

Once outside, Qi Zhe asked Gu Ze suspiciously.

Gu Ze nodded and whispered to Qi Zhe, “Do you know who he is?”

    Qi Zhe was puzzled. Who?

“He’s the young master of the Shen family, the most likely heir to the family fortune, and the most beloved younger brother of Shen Jinjue, the eldest son of the Shen family.”

Qi Zhe felt like he had been struck by lightning. Was that so? But weren’t there only three real children in the Shen family? Two in the military camp and one at the company? There was no Shen Xingyang!

The others were all illegitimate children, and because there were so many, outsiders didn’t know. But Shen Jinjue’s most beloved younger brother shouldn’t be an illegitimate child.

Moreover, Shen Xingyang had never mentioned it. Shen Jinjue was extremely kind to Shen Xingyang, always visiting him, and sometimes they would even stay together.

But when he asked Shen Xingyang, he only said they were friends, so he always secretly thought that Shen Xingyang and Shen Jinjue were lovers who just didn’t want to tell others.

He never thought that they were actually half-brothers.

Qi Zhe couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Shen Xingyang was too unlike a young master of the Shen family.

Every member of the Four Great Families possessed a special aura, an innate nobility and aristocratic air.

But Shen Xingyang didn’t have it. Shen Xingyang was very good-looking, with a captivating beauty, but he looked somewhat weak, and he was always coming and going alone. Who would know that he was a member of the Shen family? He was too low-profile.

After the two finished talking, they opened the door and entered the ward, just in time to see Song Yichen finishing applying medicine to Shen Xingyang’s wrist.

After Song Yichen finished, he put Shen Xingyang’s hand back into the blanket and leaned close to Shen Xingyang, “Isn’t he quite well-behaved?”

Qi Zhe and Gu Ze watched this scene and secretly complained in their hearts, “He’s only well-behaved in front of you. He wasn’t like this just now.”

Song Yichen wore a gentle yet flamboyant smile, making people feel a little flustered.

But in Shen Xingyang’s mind, all he could see was Song Yichen covered in blood. Why was Song Yichen so kind, risking his life to help him just because of his brother’s request?

Such a person shouldn’t have such an ending.

“I’m hungry, I want to eat something.”

Song Yichen laughed and looked at the white porridge next to him. “You really think of yourself as a treasure. Can’t you get it yourself if you want to eat?”

Gu Ze and Qi Zhe were shocked as they looked at the two of them. Song Yichen’s sarcastic tone showed no fear that Shen Xingyang would cause trouble again.

They both thought that Shen Xingyang would directly refuse to eat, but they saw Shen Xingyang struggling to sit up, picking up the porridge, and obediently spooning it into his mouth, bite by bite.

Song Yichen didn’t quite understand. He was prepared to use his psychological tactics, but Shen Xingyang was so cooperative, which saved him some effort.

He pulled over a chair, took the medical record, sat down, leaned lazily against the back of the chair, and even crossed his legs, looking very roguish.

    “Now let’s talk.”

Song Yichen looked at the medical record, his slender fingers holding a pen, marking something on it.

“Moderate to severe anemia, accompanied by congenital heart disease. It’s not easy to have lived this long, why think about dying?”

Before Shen Xingyang could answer, he heard Song Yichen say again, “Your brother is my cousin, so you can be considered my cousin too. I’ll be responsible for your condition from now on. I can’t guarantee you’ll live to be a hundred years old, but living to the average age in Mu City shouldn’t be too difficult, provided you listen to me.”

Although Shen Xingyang knew in his previous life that Song Yichen’s medical skills were very good, he didn’t expect them to be this good. He had seen so many famous doctors since he was a child, and every one of them said that he definitely wouldn’t live past thirty-five, but Song Yichen told him that he could live to be almost sixty.

Shen Xingyang nodded to show that he understood, which made Song Yichen angry.

    “Speak.”

    “I understand.”

Shen Xingyang’s voice was very soft, obviously lacking confidence. He didn’t realize that Song Yichen was so fierce in his previous life!

“Okay, after the blood transfusion, go to my office. I’ll give you a medical wristband to monitor your body’s vitals. The wristband is waterproof, so you can wear it while showering. Don’t make excuses to take it off.”

Shen Xingyang frowned. He knew how accurate that kind of wristband was. It could test all his body’s indicators. Wouldn’t that mean that everything he did was under Song Yichen’s surveillance?

    “Unwilling?”

Song Yichen looked at his troubled expression and asked impatiently.

Shen Xingyang quickly shook his head, “No.”

Song Yichen was his savior. How could he dare to say no? He would even kneel down and kowtow if he was asked to.

Song Yichen was too lazy to say anything else and lowered his head to make some marks on the medical record.

“Jinjue cares about you so much, don’t cause him trouble.”

After Song Yichen finished speaking, he left impatiently, but these words were like a sharp blade stabbing into Shen Xingyang’s heart, hurting him so much that he felt short of breath.

What Song Yichen said wasn’t wrong.

He was too well protected by Shen Jinjue and always thought that Shen Jinjue could protect him for the rest of his life, so he often acted unreasonably.

Thinking about the things from his previous life, he felt even more uncomfortable.

Holding the porridge, he couldn’t wait to stuff the entire bowl into his mouth. He had to live well and remove the hidden dangers from Shen Jinjue’s side.

Gu Ze went downstairs to work, leaving only Qi Zhe to accompany Shen Xingyang.

But Shen Xingyang thought that he hadn’t rested, so he told him to go back and rest first.

After he saw Qi Zhe leave, he took the phone from the side.

There were countless missed calls on it. Shen Xingyang looked at the number that he knew by heart, his face filled with hatred, but more than that, he felt fear of that person. The year he was imprisoned, he only felt that life was worse than death.

He blacklisted the number, threw the phone aside, and hid himself in the blanket. He had to plan carefully how to make Shen Jinjue no longer trust those two brothers.

After a while, the phone rang. He looked at it and found that it was Shen Jinjue. He immediately answered.

“A-Yang, I heard from Yichen that your illness has relapsed?”

Shen Jinjue’s concerned voice made Shen Xingyang feel so wronged that he wanted to cry. He tried to make his voice sound normal and replied with an “Mm.”

But Shen Jinjue immediately noticed something was wrong, “What’s wrong? Why does your voice sound so muffled? Are you feeling wronged?”

That unconscionable Shen Xingyang only looked for him when he felt wronged by Yin Yan. What else could make him like this?

“No, I just miss you a little.”

Shen Xingyang casually wiped away the tears that fell and tried to suppress the sour feeling.

The other side was silent for a while, then said with an unhappy tone, “Where’s Yin Yan? Give him the phone, I want to talk to him.”

Shen Xingyang wasn’t the kind of person to beat around the bush. He would usually curse and swear when he felt wronged. When had he ever seen him like this?

    “He’s busy filming, he’s not here…”

Before he could finish speaking, Shen Jinjue’s furious voice came, “What’s wrong with Yin Yan? Leaving you alone in the hospital? Wait until I get back, I’ll help you teach him a lesson.”

Shen Xingyang patiently listened to Shen Jinjue finish speaking. The feeling of being protected was really too good. He thought he would never feel it again.

“Brother, no need, he’s busy with his things, I’m busy with mine, it’s fine.”

Shen Xingyang was explaining for Yin Yan on the surface, but he was actually telling Shen Jinjue that Yin Yan didn’t have time to accompany him, which would definitely make Shen Jinjue start to have opinions about Yin Yan.

Sure enough, Shen Jinjue was much angrier and cursed over there, even scolding Yin Yuan next to him a few times.

“You rest well, I’ll call him. If he’s still busy, then he can just focus on his work in the future. Don’t expect me to approve of him.”

“Brother, don’t be like this. He’s in his rising period, don’t affect his work. I’m about to be discharged from the hospital, what’s there to worry about?”

As Shen Xingyang said these words, he increasingly felt like he was a white lotus or a green tea in a TV series, or something similar.

He was just playing tricks, but he wanted to slowly weaken Shen Jinjue’s trust in those two brothers, starting with these small things. That way, when the time came for a fatal blow, Yin Yan and his brother would definitely be able to completely leave their lives.

“Alright, alright, I’ll arrange for someone to take care of your daily life later. I’ll let him off this time. If there’s a next time, I’ll skin him alive.”

Hearing these words, Shen Xingyang couldn’t help but imagine Shen Jinjue cursing at the phone, and couldn’t help but find it a little funny. His brother was such an impatient person and easily trusted others.

He looked fierce on the surface, but he was actually the most frank and straightforward.

    “Thank you, brother.”

“Thank you for what? Rest well, take care of your health, and don’t worry me.”

    “I know, brother.”

Although Shen Jinjue’s tone wasn’t good and was full of commanding, it made Shen Xingyang feel warm inside.

“Yin Yuan, let me tell you. If Yin Yan dares to wrong A-Yang again, I’ll skin you alive along with him.”

Yin Yuan, who was doing laundry, heard these words and smiled as he looked at Shen Jinjue. “Don’t you believe in Yan? Does he have anyone else in his eyes besides A-Yang? How could he bear to let him feel wronged?”

Shen Jinjue muttered to himself that he was right and prepared to take a bath.
