Chapter Index

Jiang Yifeng thought he would collapse when facing another barrage of criticism.

However, when he confirmed that the other party would no longer agree to him participating in the show, Jiang Yifeng’s emotions miraculously calmed down.

His mind was blank for a moment, as if detached from his body, observing himself from a third-person perspective.

He scrolled through all the accusatory messages posted by marketing accounts on his phone – even if there were more emotional words later, they weren’t pushed to the top. Instead, a few accounts posting images and news consistently stayed at the top, allowing everyone who clicked in to see the evidence.

    Someone locked his search square.

Jiang Yifeng didn’t understand who it was.

He knew he had offended too many people recently, and this condemnation felt more like a planned event with others joining in for the spectacle.

He didn’t need to figure out who sent the messages anymore.

What he needed to do was… he needed to clear his name.

Jiang Yifeng couldn’t possibly find every person he had repaid.

Thinking about the initial screenshots of borrowing money that ignited the incident, Jiang Yifeng even had a new suspicion.

——Someone gave them money, demanding they stay silent about him repaying the money.

Even if Jiang Yifeng went to their door, he would have no chance against those who spent money to attack him. The company wouldn’t spend money to help him, and Jiang Yifeng alone couldn’t possibly find everyone.

He had to change his approach, change to a method that everyone would have to accept.

Jiang Yifeng bit open the cap of his pen, lowered his head, and slowly wrote down the required information.

Since his side jobs were already known, Jiang Yifeng didn’t need to avoid many things when clarifying.

It would take a long time for him to sort out the information alone. After listing everything, he realized it was a long list.

    An hour had already passed.

Jiang Yifeng put down his pen, glanced at the time, and decided to get a good night’s sleep first—since things were already like this, it was better to get busy the next morning.

Jiang Yifeng’s emotions were unusually stable.

He fell onto the bed, and as he was enveloped by the soft mattress, the messy thoughts in Jiang Yifeng’s head gradually dissipated. Jiang Yifeng vaguely thought—he wanted to tell Xie Jingshen after everything was resolved.

To tell Xie Jingshen about the annoying and dirty things, the dirty things that even he almost couldn’t bear.

    A knock suddenly sounded.

The sound was noisy and chaotic. Jiang Yifeng’s first thought was—had someone doxxed his address?!

Jiang Yifeng fearfully shrunk his shoulders. The knocking seemed endless, and Jiang Yifeng could only get out of bed to open the door.

He carefully pulled the door open, poked his head out, and prepared to close the door if anything seemed wrong.

Unexpectedly, standing at the door was Luo Qi.

Jiang Yifeng opened the door and let Luo Qi in. As soon as Luo Qi entered, he started cursing, “That bunch of idiots online…”

Jiang Yifeng moved a stool for Luo Qi. He sat cross-legged on the large sofa, listened to him finish cursing, and then asked in confusion, “Brother Luo?”

“Are you okay?” Luo Qi looked at Jiang Yifeng. “If something’s wrong, curse, vent it out.”

    “I’m fine.”

“Don’t keep it bottled up. I know you’re upset. Don’t hold back. It’s okay. Don’t we have evidence of repaying the money? Let’s release it all. If those people aren’t willing to stand up and speak for you, we’ll release their contact information and repayment records. We’ll go all out.” Luo Qi’s face was twisted with anger.

Jiang Yifeng smiled helplessly, seeing Luo Qi’s agitated appearance.

Luo Qi widened his eyes. “You’re still smiling? What are you smiling at? I was afraid you’d commit suicide. I took a taxi over as soon as I saw the news.”

Too many people in the entertainment industry have had mental breakdowns because of scandals, but as long as they don’t successfully commit suicide, the news is usually suppressed.

After all, celebrities committing suicide under extreme malice only makes people think they’re making a fuss, earning so much money but not having any psychological resilience, deserving to be eliminated.

Luo Qi was too afraid that Jiang Yifeng wouldn’t be able to handle it.

However, Jiang Yifeng’s palm was pressed on his knee. He leaned back on the large sofa, lowered his eyes, and was silent for a while. When he looked up again, his emotions had stabilized.

“You’re not thinking of just letting it go, are you?” Luo Qi thought of Jiang Yifeng’s previous attitude towards cyberbullying and widened his eyes in shock.

But Jiang Yifeng was even more shocked than Luo Qi. “Why let it go? Things are already like this, what else can’t I say?”

    Luo Qi: “…”

    Jiang Yifeng smiled, squinting.

    “I just need some help.”

Jiang Yifeng looked at Luo Qi.

    Luo Qi nodded.

Suddenly, he added, “I told Guan Yiqiang about the situation. Guan Yiqiang said that if needed, he could also help you.”

    Jiang Yifeng was stunned.

He hadn’t asked any of his entertainment circle friends for help because he didn’t want to drag anyone into this media storm. If he couldn’t win, he would only drag others down with him.

But Guan Yiqiang was still willing to help him.

“I don’t know what you’re going to do. I’m just saying, we can ask Guan Yiqiang for help.”

    Jiang Yifeng nodded.

Early the next morning, Jiang Yifeng was busy.

Luo Qi helped Jiang Yifeng scan documents at a copy shop, and Jiang Yifeng wore a baseball cap to the bank to pull bank statements.

He also went to the police station to inquire about document backups and validity. After running around for more than two days, he finally uploaded everything online and had it notarized.

Xie Jingshen hadn’t come to see him for several days. Jiang Yifeng didn’t have time to look for Xie Jingshen. Xie Jingshen was also in the middle of the policy adjustment period after the parliamentary reshuffle, with many things to do—

Jiang Yifeng breathed a sigh of relief. He didn’t want Xie Jingshen to see him in such a disheveled state.

He was too lazy to comb his hair, and dealt with documents on the computer every day, the whole person lazy and scattered.

Luo Qi asked Guan Yiqiang for two more people to help. The four of them squeezed into Jiang Yifeng’s small bedroom, occasionally going out to handle necessary documents. After rushing for four days, they finally finished organizing everything.

    Jiang Yifeng rubbed his forehead.

He looked at the organized evidence, and smiled helplessly as he read through the edited blog post again and again.

“Okay.” Jiang Yifeng rubbed his eyes and clicked on his account.

He was very fortunate that when he signed the contract five years ago, there were no clauses restricting celebrity accounts, otherwise, in order not to slap the company in the face, the company would never have allowed him to post it, and he wouldn’t have attracted any traffic.

“Guan Yiqiang’s side has also seen it, and thinks it’s okay, but there will definitely still be people questioning…”

Luo Qi said helplessly, “Actually, the best thing is to let those who accepted your repayment actively come forward and say it. The more people, the better. A few can be faked, dozens can be faked, hundreds, thousands, even if someone tries to smear you, they can’t withstand so many people helping you.”

“There’s no need to force them. They helped me out of kindness in the first place, and they have no obligation to come forward and help me solve this crisis.” Jiang Yifeng smiled, “I’ll do it myself.”

    He pressed the Enter key.

He sent out his first reply since the incident.
