TRMLCM Chapter 61
by VolareChapter 61: Early Rising
The sky had just begun to lighten when the phone placed next to the pillow started vibrating.
Shen Chang’an was awakened by the alarm. His slender arm, escaping from the confinement around his waist, reached out from the blanket. Guided by instinct, he groped around the source of the sound. The touch of the cold phone brought a slight clarity to his mind.
He slightly opened his eyes, still carrying a hint of sleepiness and blurriness, glanced at the time displayed on the screen, and then unhesitatingly pressed the button to turn off the alarm.
“Hmph… What’s wrong?”
A low and slightly hoarse male voice drifted over lazily from behind him, laced with a thick, not-yet-fully-dissipated drowsiness.
Cheng Yi had been awakened by the movements of the person in his arms, his mind still somewhat muddled.
His strong arm tightened, instinctively pulling the person closer, making his back press tightly against his chest.
As if suddenly remembering something, he lifted his heavy eyelids, revealing his narrow black eyes. Looking at the still-dim room, he asked in a low voice, “Do you need to go to the bathroom?”
Shen Chang’an let out a soft breath and replied, “No.”
After speaking, he moved his body slightly. The arm around his waist was holding him too tightly. Unable to move, Shen Chang’an was too lazy to resist. He retracted the hand that had just emerged from the blanket back into the warmth, his slightly cold hand gently covering his waist, overlapping with the other hand.
His mind was gradually clearing. He closed his eyes slightly and asked in a lazy tone, “Have you forgotten what I told you last night?”
His soft voice carried a hint of sleepiness, sounding somewhat gentle.
Hearing this, Cheng Yi slowly remembered.
Last night, Shen Chang’an had said that he would take him to see the sunrise today.
See the sunrise!
Cheng Yi’s mind suddenly cleared, his dark and sleepy black eyes instantly brightening in the dimness.
He wasn’t sleepy anymore.
His arm tightened. He lowered his head slightly, his forehead gently rubbing against the back of Shen Chang’an’s neck. His low voice rang out clearly, “I remember now. So, when are we leaving?”
Shen Chang’an closed his eyes and nestled in his arms without speaking. Cheng Yi didn’t urge him when he didn’t get a response, simply holding him and waiting patiently.
After dozing off for a while with his eyes closed, Shen Chang’an opened his eyes and gently pushed the arm still around his waist, showing no sign of loosening. Once the other person finally removed it, his waist immediately felt lighter.
Shen Chang’an lifted the blanket, then pulled it up higher, covering the top of Cheng Yi’s head. He sat up slightly and reached out to press the switch by the bed, instantly lighting up the entire room.
He sat on the edge of the bed, closing his eyes uncomfortably, the sleepy corners of his eyes glistening with a hint of shimmering light.
He turned around and looked at the person still buried in the blanket, not moving, the corners of his mouth slightly raised. He reached out again to help him pull back the blanket.
Looking at Cheng Yi’s slightly squinted eyes and dazed handsome face, he gently rubbed his soft, slightly long hair, also helping to brush away the strands that were covering his eyes, revealing Cheng Yi’s handsome eyebrows and eyes.
His eyelashes fluttered slightly. Seeing Cheng Yi open his eyes slightly, Shen Chang’an said softly, “Get up, or we’ll miss it.”
The other party responded lazily, “Okay.”
The light was indeed dazzling. Cheng Yi felt the hand that had been blocking the light leave. He opened his eyes and sat up from the bed.
While Cheng Yi was washing up downstairs, Shen Chang’an had already gone to his grandmother’s side to say hello.
Actually, he had told his grandmother last night as well, but when he came upstairs to change after washing up just now, he saw that his grandparents’ bedroom was already lit, so he came to say it again.
When Cheng Yi changed his clothes, went downstairs, and went outside, he saw that Shen Chang’an was already on the electric scooter waiting for him.
Cheng Yi took the small bread that Shen Chang’an handed over, but didn’t eat it. He put it in the pocket of his coat. Looking at Shen Chang’an, who looked ready to go, he couldn’t help but ask curiously, “Where are we going to see the sunrise?”
There were many mountains here, all closely connected, and Li Family Village was located in a valley. He felt that no matter where he looked, the view would be obstructed.
But he just asked casually. Although he had some doubts in his heart, it still didn’t stop him from quickly getting on the scooter.
After he sat down on the back seat of the electric scooter, he didn’t need Shen Chang’an to remind him. He had already reached out and obediently hugged the other person’s waist.
“We’re going to see it on the mountain.”
Feeling the warm force around his waist, Shen Chang’an pursed his lips and answered briefly.
He didn’t want to reveal this layer of mystery too quickly. Whether the sunrise would meet Cheng Yi’s expectations later, he at least shouldn’t ruin his anticipation for this date.
Yes, that’s right…
In his heart, this was a date that belonged to the two of them.
This plan had been decided several days ago, but the weather had been cloudy for the past few days, the sky was gloomy, so he didn’t say anything. Only yesterday when he looked at the weather forecast and saw that there might be sun today did he make this temporary decision.
However, he had just looked at the weather forecast again, and it showed that the sun today didn’t seem too good either.
Shen Chang’an started the electric scooter with a calm expression. The scooter slowly moved, driving from the courtyard to the concrete road.
The electric scooter wasn’t going fast. The cold mountain night wind blew past the two of them, and when the cold feeling on their faces came, the drowsiness fled in a panic, and their whole bodies suddenly woke up.
If they couldn’t see the sunrise today, then he would just treat it as taking Cheng Yi out for a leisurely ride.
The road that Shen Chang’an took was in the opposite direction to the road to the town. The dim headlights illuminated the road not too far ahead. The road twisted and turned with the connected mountains, sometimes going down with the mountain, and sometimes suddenly going up.
Along the winding stream, after passing a huge rock in the stream, a majestic mountain appeared. Dawn gradually appeared on the horizon, and the mountain road was revealed.
The newly bought electric scooter still had plenty of power, but Shen Chang’an had never ridden such a steep slope before, so he couldn’t quite get it up at once.
The electric scooter was getting slower and slower, almost sliding backward. Shen Chang’an was shocked and quickly pressed the brakes.
Cheng Yi’s long legs landed on the ground, helping him to stabilize the scooter. Seeing Shen Chang’an struggling, he quickly said, “Let me do it.”
Shen Chang’an squeezed the brakes. Hearing this, he turned his head slightly to look at Cheng Yi, his eyes filled with hesitation. He paused and asked hesitantly, “Can you ride this?”
Cheng Yi’s sword-like eyebrows raised slightly, his eyes full of confidence. He said in a somewhat arrogant tone, “Your Brother Yi used to ride motorcycles, this little electric scooter is a piece of cake.”
What a joke, would he, the dignified prince of motorcycles, be unable to ride such a small electric scooter?
