TRMLCM Chapter 33
by VolareCheng Yi drove his cool sports car and quickly arrived at the Cheng family villa. The car slowly stopped at the entrance, and a servant guarding the gate came over.
Cheng Yi opened the door and got out of the car, handing the keys in his hand to the servant. He turned around and walked into the courtyard.
The villa was already brightly lit, standing out in the dim night. The house was quiet, as if no one was inside.
Cheng Yi quickly walked to the door. As soon as he opened it, the sound of the television came through. Cheng Yi instantly felt more confident.
He relaxed his body and walked in.
“Sister Qin, I’m back!”
Cheng Yi shouted loudly, quickly walking behind the sofa in front of the living room TV. He hugged the woman facing away from him from behind, nuzzling his head against the back of her neck, and said, “I haven’t seen my Sister Qin for days. I really missed you so much. You look even more beautiful, sis.”
The woman, who had been watching a drama on the sofa since Cheng Yi walked in and called out to her, didn’t turn her head. Hearing him, she rolled her eyes but didn’t push away the person behind her who was acting spoiled. She took a few pieces of popcorn from the bag in her hand and slowly ate them, not forgetting to give one to the person behind her.
Her eyes were still focused on the TV, and she said in a somewhat resentful tone, “I didn’t see any sign that you missed me. Aren’t you wild enough outside? You’re willing to come home today?”
Cheng Yi released his hold on her, using his waist to support himself on the sofa. He jumped and sat down next to her. The force of the movement was a little too much, and the elastic sofa shook, almost causing the woman to lose her grip on the popcorn.
She helplessly put the popcorn on the coffee table in front of her, then glanced at Cheng Yi, who had a very innocent expression. Feeling helpless, she couldn’t help but roll her eyes again.
*I gave birth to him! I gave birth to him! I gave birth to him!*
Qin Yun, who was still well-maintained despite being nearly fifty, silently chanted these words in her heart, barely refraining from slapping her youngest son, who had just returned home.
*He just got back, don’t get angry, don’t get angry!*
Seeing that she wasn’t angry, a hint of doubt flashed in Cheng Yi’s innocent eyes. Something was wrong. When had his mom become so nice? Where was the woman who would get agitated at the slightest inconvenience?
Although he was doubtful, Cheng Yi was still afraid of dying. He didn’t dare ask about it, so he curiously scanned the room before looking at Qin Yun and asking, “Sister Qin, where are Dad and Brother? Are they not back yet?”
Qin Yun looked at the TV and then said, “They might be delayed by overtime today. Judging by the time, they should be back soon.”
Hearing this, Cheng Yi nodded and then watched the drama with her for a while.
Before long, he couldn’t stand it anymore.
Cheng Yi didn’t understand why his mom liked watching dramas so much, especially such brainless ones.
In the TV show, the female lead was suffering all kinds of grievances from the male lead. Late at night, she ran out of the house and was now walking down a deserted street in the rain, constantly recalling all the good and sweet moments from the past.
Tsk.
Cheng Yi was annoyed just looking at the weak, innocent female lead. When he turned his head, he saw that his mom was calmly eating popcorn, seemingly unaffected by the terrible plot.
Seeing his mom’s calm and composed demeanor, Cheng Yi couldn’t help but ask, “Sister Qin, do you remember that young master from the Lin family?”
Qin Yun didn’t turn her head. The faint light from the TV screen reflected in her beautiful eyes, revealing her enjoyment. She said without much thought, “Of course, I remember. Isn’t that the brat who fought with you when you were little? After losing, he shamelessly told the teacher. What’s wrong?”
Cheng Yi said nonchalantly, “It’s nothing. Didn’t he run away from home for his true love? Someone saw him washing dishes in the kitchen of a restaurant.”
He stole a glance at Qin Yun, but seeing that she didn’t show any surprise after hearing this, his heart sank for a moment for no reason.
Qin Yun: “So what if he’s washing dishes? You’re not still holding a grudge against him, are you? You want to take revenge?”
Cheng Yi quickly said with a smile, “How could I? It was just childishness back then. Now I’m grown up. I’m just curious why his family didn’t agree to let them be together.”
Qin Yun looked at him suspiciously. Cheng Yi quickly put on a harmless smile. His originally narrow and cold eyes now looked very innocent. He seemed to be genuinely curious.
But Qin Yun was his mother. She knew what kind of creature she had given birth to.
The more Cheng Yi acted like this, the more she knew that this kid was up to no good.
He had even learned to test her when his dad and brother weren’t around?
Qin Yun retracted her gaze, turned her head to continue watching the drama, and continued eating popcorn, saying casually, “Just tell me, who are you interested in? Do you have a photo?”
Cheng Yi:!
Cheng Yi blinked his innocent eyes, somewhat disappointed as he reined in his pretense. His narrow, deep eyes were now completely unguarded, revealing the determination within.
He was silent for a moment, then straightened his body and sat up straight, adopting a very serious expression. He gave his own mom a look of admiration, praising, “Sister Qin is amazing, you could even guess that. Like they say, mother and son are connected at heart. Sure enough, a mother is the person who loves her son the most in this world.”
Qin Yun sighed softly, speechless. “Stop flattering me. Get to the point. If you don’t explain clearly, I won’t speak up for you in front of your dad.”
Cheng Yi slumped back, starting to act like a spoiled brat. He directly admitted, “…Okay, I have someone I like.”
Seeing him acting like a dead pig unafraid of boiling water, Qin Yun instead furrowed her slender willow eyebrows slightly and said, “It’s fine if you have someone you like. As long as that girl is educated, well-mannered, and easy to get along with, your dad and I won’t really be like the Lin family and force you two to break up.”
But she had a feeling that this kid was holding back something big.
Cheng Yi asked her in disbelief, “Really not breaking us up? Not kicking me out?”
Hearing him ask repeatedly, she understood.
Qin Yun’s gaze fell on Cheng Yi. Cheng Yi couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow, his eyes smiling. He closed one eye, his lips curved upward, giving her a cute and handsome wink.
Qin Yun was stunned for a moment, then closed her eyes to hide the amazement and pride in her eyes. When she opened her eyes again, her eyes were filled only with the disgust that Cheng Yi was so familiar with.
Qin Yun said in annoyance, “If your eyes are sick, go to the hospital and get them checked properly. Don’t come here showing off. I’m not one of those ignorant young girls who would be mesmerized by you.”
She turned her head to continue watching the drama, then said in a fairly good mood, “Stop using your little tricks on me. If you don’t tell me, they’ll really be back soon.”
Okay, you said it yourself.
Thinking that he had laid the groundwork enough, Cheng Yi raised an eyebrow, his eyes innocent, his face honest, and said in a very calm voice, “I like guys.”
Qin Yun’s pupils suddenly contracted, and she turned her head to look at him in disbelief. The popcorn she had just put to her mouth was brushed off by her movement, then rolled down her body to the ground.
Seeing her shocked expression, a hint of helplessness and apology appeared on Cheng Yi’s face, but his deep, dark eyes looking at her were filled with seriousness.
Qin Yun knew that he wasn’t joking.
She had suddenly heard her son come out to her, and her shocked expression couldn’t be hidden. Soon she recovered, and her face slowly regained its composure, but her mind was still in a daze.
Seeing that her brain had received the message, Cheng Yi slowly retorted, “You said it wrong just now. It’s not that I like girls, but that I like a man.”
As he said this, he couldn’t help but recall Shen Chang’an’s delicate eyebrows and eyes, and his clear, serene eyes. Cheng Yi’s heart softened, and his slightly lowered eyes were filled with a gentle smile.
Cheng Yi: “He is a very good person.”
