TRMLCM Chapter 23
by VolareChapter 23 It’s Okay
“Meow~”
Human, wake up~
The sun’s gonna be scorching your butt~
“…berber, stop it.”
Shen Chang’an hadn’t had enough sleep because he stayed up too late last night. He opened his sleepy eyes, brushed away the fur near his mouth, and reached out to push berber, who was sitting by his pillow, trying to wake him up with its tail on his face.
“…Haa.”
He originally wanted to sleep a little longer, but being harassed by berber like this, he couldn’t sleep anymore. He sat up, picked up his phone from the side and looked at the time. It was already past nine in the morning.
Thoughts gradually returned, and his brain slowly cleared. He opened his phone and looked at the familiar chat interface, his fingertips moved slightly, but then hesitated and stopped.
After putting down his phone, he got out of bed and opened the curtains. The dazzling sunlight instantly shone into the room through the glass window.
Looks like it’s a nice day today too.
Shen Chang’an stretched, first poured cat food for his hungry little master, then went into the bathroom to wash up.
After changing his clothes, he ate the breakfast that had been carefully warmed in the pot as usual, then took his things and turned to go out.
When he came out of the elevator, the taxi he called had just arrived at the entrance of the residential area. Shen Chang’an quickly walked over, got into the car, and the taxi drove towards its destination.
City C People’s Hospital.
……
Cheng Yi woke up naturally and it was already noon. He lay face down on his pillow, groping around on the bed for his phone, then opened it and his sleepy eyes immediately lit up…
[Little Fox: Good morning]
He was no longer sleepy, nor in a bad mood.
First, he changed the note he had for Shen Chang’an, and then he quickly replied.
[cy: Good morning! An An]
[cy: Animated emoticon (cat waving)]
Shen Chang’an was standing in front of the window of the hospital room when he saw the message. His eyes were looking at the lush green tree in the corner of the hospital’s backyard below, and his eyes were full of smiles.
So… Cheng Yi didn’t reject him getting closer.
The warm sunlight poured through the window and onto his body, and his clear and cold eyes were plated with golden light, becoming soft.
[An An: Mm-hmm]
Even though he was very happy, Shen Chang’an didn’t know what to say for a while. When he sent the good morning message today, he had hesitated for a long time before sending it.
He thought that even if there was a slight possibility, he would seize the opportunity…
Now it seems that his choice was right.
Shen Chang’an’s eyes curved, revealing a shallow smile, looking peaceful and serene.
[cy: Have you eaten lunch?]
[An An: Not yet, I’m outside now]
Cheng Yi rolled around on the big bed holding his pillow. When he heard the message notification sound, he immediately picked up his phone, then frowned slightly. How come An An is outside again…
He was just about to ask, when Shen Chang’an’s message came again.
[An An: Yi-ge, how’s your leg doing?]
Seeing Shen Chang’an caring about him, Cheng Yi’s whole mood became cheerful. He quickly crawled out of the tightly wrapped quilt, lifted his trouser leg, took a picture of the already purple area, and sent it to the other party.
[cy: Image]
[cy: It feels a bit painful today]
Shen Chang’an clicked on the picture, looking at the swollen, bluish-purple mark on the sturdy calf, he suddenly frowned, closed the picture, and saw the sentence below saying it hurt, his frown deepened.
[An An: Didn’t your friend put medicine on it for you last night?]
Cheng Yi pouted and typed a reply.
[cy: He didn’t]
[cy: It’s okay, I’ll just apply it myself later]
He Zhou really didn’t help him apply the medicine last night. He wanted to help apply the medicine, but Cheng Yi refused.
So he wasn’t lying, right… (ˉˉ)
Shen Chang’an frowned, feeling a little angry. He knew that he should have told the other party properly last night, feeling regretful in his heart, but he also knew that he couldn’t blame the other party, he could only tell Cheng Yi to pay attention himself.
[An An: If applying the medicine doesn’t work well, let’s go to the hospital to get it checked out]
Looking scary in the picture, the bruise wasn’t actually that serious. At least Cheng Yi was still being a busybody and pressed the swollen area, and then successfully made his originally handsome face twisted.
“Hiss…”
Cheng Yi frowned, and out of disbelief, he poked at it again, and was once again in so much pain that his facial features were distorted.
[An An: Pay attention during this time, don’t touch it except when applying medicine]
Cheng Yi looked at the message, then lowered his head to look at the injured leg that he had raised and propped up on the other leg, and his face was already expressionless from the pain.
[cy: Okay]
[cy: Animated emoticon (cat wink)]
He, Cheng Yi, swore to heaven that he would never touch the wound here again.
Cheng Yi was just about to contact Shen Chang’an again to deepen their bond when he saw a voice message from Lin Zhihao.
Lin Zhihao: “Yi-ge, wanna hang out today?”
Cheng Yi didn’t want to go out. He would only be able to come back late, and he wouldn’t be able to watch An An’s livestream. He must’ve been bullied while I was gone yesterday, no way! Absolutely not!
Besides, he was injured. Although it wouldn’t stop him from going out to play, Shen Chang’an would definitely be unhappy if he knew he ran out.
Cheng Yi: “I’m not going today, got a little injured.”
Lin Zhihao was shocked. Wasn’t he fine when they went out to play yesterday? How did he suddenly get injured?
Lin Zhihao: “What? Yi-ge, how did you get injured? Where did you get hurt? Is it serious?”
Cheng Yi casually said, “It’s okay, just a minor injury.”
Lin Zhihao: “…Okay then.”
He chatted with Lin Zhihao for a while before dissuading the person who wanted to come and visit him.
Cheng Yi clicked on the chat interface with Shen Chang’an, looking at the interface with no new messages, his eyes were slightly disappointed. After ordering himself a takeaway, he started to stare blankly, bored.
Missing An An ing
……
Shen Chang’an put his phone back in his pocket, looking at the bright sunlight outside the window, it seemed that his mood had also improved.
He turned around and looked at the person sitting on the chair guarding the hospital bed, and walked over.
The person lying on the single bed was wearing an oxygen mask. In the small, quiet room, every breath sounded so small and weak. Shen Chang’an glanced at him and retracted his gaze, turning to look at the person sitting in the chair beside him.
Watching the short and thin old woman constantly helping to pull up the quilt, wringing out wet towels, and constantly wiping the face and hands of the person lying on the bed, Shen Chang’an squatted down beside the chair, facing the old woman, and said softly:
“Grandma, I’m going to buy lunch, you stay here and wait for me, don’t wander around anymore.”
The gray-haired, wrinkled old woman heard the voice and turned to look over, her eyes were cloudy and dull, looking very tired, even a little empty. After Grandma saw that it was him speaking, she didn’t know if she had heard him clearly, but she nodded slightly.
Shen Chang’an pursed his lips, and gently patted the back of her hand that was tightly holding the hand of the person in bed, his originally happy mood instantly dropped.
He lowered his eyes and stopped talking, then got up and walked out of the ward.
