    Chapter 20: A Brother’s Burden

Shen Chang’an looked at his phone, his eyes filled with anticipation, but there was no movement on the other end. Only a smooth, drawn-out breath came through the receiver.

Shen Chang’an was stunned. Was he… asleep?

He found it amusing, but quickly, a headache began to form.

“Cheng Yi? Cheng Yi?” He tried to wake him up, but no matter how loudly he disturbed him, the other party showed no sign of waking. On the contrary, his breathing became even more steady, and he fell into an even deeper sleep.

    Shen Chang’an: …

Oh right, this guy often fell asleep listening to his voice before. This was perfectly reasonable.

What to do now? Although the nights in September weren’t exactly cold, wouldn’t sleeping on the floor all night lead to a cold tomorrow? And Cheng Yi had just fallen; he needed to apply medicine.

Thinking about all this, Shen Chang’an felt a headache coming on. Looking at the peacefully sleeping person on his phone, he didn’t even want to bother with him.

After careful consideration, Shen Chang’an returned to the chat interface and searched through the membership group. Soon, he found the person he wanted to contact and clicked “Add Friend.”

Back in the private room, He Zhou quickly went wild again with Lin Zhihao, Mu Feng, and the others. He was currently competing with Lin Zhihao in a singing contest.

The hostess sitting next to him tugged at his sleeve and handed him his phone.

He Zhou was in the middle of singing his heart out when he was suddenly interrupted. Just as he was about to lose his temper, the hostess quickly said, “He Zhou, I saw your phone was ringing. I was afraid it was something important.”

He Zhou’s expression softened. After taking the phone, he handed the microphone back to her and casually said, “Thanks.”

The hostess smiled and replied, “You’re welcome.”

He Zhou opened his phone and saw a message in the green chat app. He clicked into it and saw a friend request.

“Hello, I’m Mu An. Are you a friend of Cy? I need to reach you urgently.”

He Zhou was shocked and dumbfounded after reading the message.

Huh? How did his alias get exposed so quickly???

He Zhou couldn’t believe it. He thought he had disguised himself so well. How could this little streamer have found out?

Confused, He Zhou originally wanted to reject the request directly, but when he saw the words “urgent matter,” he hesitated.

He has something he needs from me, if I don’t agree, wouldn’t he snitch on me to Brother Yi tomorrow?

He Zhou struggled internally, scratching his head.

Finally, he gritted his teeth and clicked “Accept.”

So what if he was discovered? He wanted to see what urgent matter this streamer could have.

[Looking for Poop: I’ve accepted your friend request. We can start chatting now.]

[Looking for Poop: Speak, what’s the urgent matter?]

[Mu An: Do you know Cy’s home address?]

He Zhou perked up. He frowned, thinking, could this streamer be trying to find out Brother Yi’s location to pester him?

He Zhou speculated maliciously. The next second, another message came from the other side. After reading it, He Zhou stood up from his seat.

[Mu An: He fell at home and is now sleeping on the floor. Can you go check on him to see if his injuries are serious? If it’s very serious, take him to the hospital for an X-ray.]

The people around him were startled by his sudden movement and looked at him.

Seeing his flustered expression, Lin Zhihao walked over and asked, “He Zhou, what’s wrong?”

He Zhou calmed down and said, “It’s nothing. Brother Yi needs me. You guys have fun. I’ll go over to Brother Yi’s place.”

Seeing his anxious look, Lin Zhihao thought something urgent had happened to Cheng Yi. He didn’t stop him and nodded. “Okay, then go quickly.”

“Yeah.” He Zhou grabbed his coat and phone. He didn’t bother looking for a designated driver. Instead, he took a taxi, gave the address, and the taxi sped towards Cheng Yi’s apartment.

[Looking for Poop: I’m on my way there now.]

After reading the message on his phone, Shen Chang’an didn’t reply. He clicked on the dark, suspended window in the upper right corner, and in the next second, he returned to the video call interface.

He lay in bed, his eyes slightly closed, counting the other person’s breaths out of boredom.

It was already half past twelve at night. Looking at this heartless, sleeping rascal, and thinking about how he was still awake, guarding the person, and the other’s friend, a poor soul who had to rush over in the middle of the night, Shen Chang’an wanted to shake Cheng Yi awake and make him sleep properly.

How could he sleep so soundly?

Shen Chang’an was affected by him and was also incredibly sleepy. If he didn’t have to wait for the other person’s friend to arrive, he would have gone to bed long ago.

Shen Chang’an took a deep breath, forcing himself to stay awake. Looking at the dark screen, his thoughts wandered slightly.

What did Cheng Yi… look like?

    Was he handsome?

If he wasn’t handsome, would I still like him?

Shen Chang’an repeatedly asked himself in his heart.

His liking for Cheng Yi started with his pleasant voice and was loyal to his interesting soul, but he was also a mortal. Inevitably, he would fantasize that the other person was a handsome man.

Deep eyes, a high, straight nose—he wanted to use all the beautiful adjectives in the world to describe this person whose face he couldn’t see. This was his fantasy and preference at this moment.

    “Cheng Yi, Cheng Yi?”

He called out the person’s name softly again, as if wanting to wake him up, yet also unwilling to disturb him.

Repeating like this, the name turned in his mouth, etched deeply in his heart. Only in such a quiet night could he call out softly.

A sound came from the other end of the phone. Shen Chang’an quieted down, subconsciously holding his breath, but then there was no more movement.

It turned out Cheng Yi just tossed and turned in his sleep.

Shen Chang’an was almost scared to death. He thought he had really woken him up.

Shen Chang’an sighed in relief, fell silent, and didn’t dare to speak again, afraid he would really wake the person up.

Shen Chang’an yawned, his sleepy eyes glanced at the time. It was already around one o’clock. He sighed softly. Why hasn’t Cheng Yi’s friend arrived yet? He was starting to doze off.

Under Shen Chang’an’s inner urging, the sound of a door opening rang out. The next second, the room’s lights were turned on.

The light brightened, and the image in the video became clear. Looking at the white expanse in the camera, Shen Chang’an was dazed for a moment, blinking his bewildered eyes. Then, his mind caught up.

    So, it was the ceiling!

After that, a person with white hair and unique clothing walked into the camera’s range and appeared on the screen.

“He didn’t turn on the lights earlier and tripped over something, falling. Check his wounds to see how they are.”

A cold voice rang out in the room, and He Zhou instantly shuddered, almost jumping up in fright.

He looked around blankly, surveying the room. There was no one else here. He Zhou was filled with horror.

“Hey, look down. I’m on the phone with him.”

Shen Chang’an was amused by the white-haired guy’s actions and didn’t want to continue scaring the young man. He gave a kind reminder.

He Zhou hesitated and looked down, seeing the phone, screen facing up, on Cheng Yi’s chest. He had just seen the face inside on his own phone.

He Zhou clicked his tongue lightly, secretly shaking his head in disgust.

Brother Yi had too little self-control. He had a conflict with this male streamer for less than half a day, drank some wine, and insisted on coming home. As soon as he got home, he made up with the person? Having a video call, all lovey-dovey?

    He fell while dating?

Now, he even needed his brother to come save him?

He Zhou, the burdened brother: “…”

He Zhou: I despise you, Brother Yi (super soft version)
