    Chapter 19: Drunk

Not long after finishing the PK with Qiqi, Shen Chang’an chatted with his fans for a while before ending his livestream early. After thanking the fans who had gifted him so many Yin Coins today, he sat in his streaming room, relaxing and spacing out.

Time ticked by. Shen Chang’an snapped back to reality, opened his phone, and hesitated about whether to send Cheng Yi another message. It was only then that he noticed that the other party had replied to him over ten minutes ago.

[Cy: Went out to play today]

Shen Chang’an wasn’t sure if Cheng Yi had discovered something, but he could clearly feel that Cheng Yi’s attitude towards him had changed somewhat. He felt a little panicked. Could it be that he was no longer of any use to Cheng Yi?

He subconsciously made a phone call to the other party, but the phone rang again and again. Shen Chang’an looked at the phone that remained unanswered, gently closed his eyes, and reached out to hang up.

So… Cheng Yi had discovered his ulterior motives?

Shen Chang’an didn’t dare to think too much about it. He got up and left the room, returning to his own bedroom, heading straight for the bedside table, and taking out a pack of cigarettes from it.

He leaned against the headboard, his head gently resting against the wall, his eyes glazed over, looking somewhat listless. He reached out, lit a cigarette, took a light puff, and a wisp of smoke was exhaled from his mouth, disappearing into the air.

The phone rang. Shen Chang’an quickly put out the cigarette in the ashtray next to him with his right hand, and quickly picked up the phone with his left.

Seeing the name on the phone screen, he was stunned for a moment. After hesitating for a moment, he still chose to answer.

The next second, the phone screen displayed two figures, one occupying most of the screen, and the other hanging in the upper right corner, small and indistinct.

    “What are you doing?”

Shen Chang’an looked at the video on the other side with some confusion, where it was so dark that he couldn’t even see a person.

    “Little fox!”

The familiar voice rang out, and Shen Chang’an’s panicked heart relaxed. But hearing this voice with a hint of strangeness, he frowned again.

    Was he drunk?

“Eldest Brother Yi, are you at home? How about we turn on the lights?” He asked carefully, as if coaxing a child.

After Shen Chang’an finished speaking, the video camera on the other side seemed to be shaking constantly. He heard the other party’s chaotic footsteps. Looking at the dark room, he frowned slightly, worried about him falling.

Just as he was about to say something, he heard a ‘clang’ sound from the other side, followed by a very soft groan.

Shen Chang’an looked at the screen with concern, his heart anxious, “Eldest Brother Yi, can you hear me? Eldest Brother Yi? …Cheng Yi?”

    “Hmm?”

A very small response came from the other side.

Shen Chang’an calmed down and quickly said, “Cheng Yi, turn on the flashlight on your phone… Eldest Brother Yi? …Cheng Yi, are you listening?”

He asked repeatedly, and the other side slowly said, “…Don’t want to.”

Shen Chang’an frowned, feeling a little angry, but he knew he couldn’t reason with a drunkard. He softened his voice and slowly coaxed, “Eldest Brother Yi, it’s too dark over there. What if you fall again if you don’t turn on the flashlight? Turn on the flashlight first, and then we’ll go turn on the lights, okay?”

“…But I don’t want to turn on the lights.” Cheng Yi’s voice sounded very muffled, as if he was trying hard to suppress something.

“Then let’s just chat like this.” The other party didn’t want to turn it on, and even though Shen Chang’an was anxious, he couldn’t do anything. He could only try to keep him stable, “Then you have to be good, don’t wander around now.”

    “Mmm, mmm, mmm.”

Seeing that he responded, Shen Chang’an looked at the dark screen, not knowing what to talk about. He hesitantly asked, “…Did it hurt when you fell just now?”

“No way! It doesn’t hurt at all!”

The other side retorted loudly, and Shen Chang’an knew at once that this drunkard was lying to him.

He suddenly understood why the other party was no longer willing to turn on the lights. He probably fell too hard just now and started crying, and now Cheng Yi, who valued his pride, was unwilling to embarrass himself in front of others.

After figuring this out, Shen Chang’an felt both annoyed and amused.

He thought so, Cheng Yi was just a tsundere.

Shen Chang’an regretted that he hadn’t thought of letting the other party use the flashlight first, causing this drunkard to fall and not want to get up now.

Okay, if he didn’t want to get up, then he didn’t want to.

“Where did you go today?” Shen Chang’an asked, “Why didn’t you reply to my message? You didn’t even answer my phone just now.”

The other side was silent for a while. Although Cheng Yi’s brain wasn’t working well after drinking, he knew that this question was serious. The few brain cells he had were thinking quickly, and even his breathing seemed to become heavy.

Cheng Yi was inexplicably guilty, and replied hesitantly, “I… went drinking…”

Shen Chang’an already knew that he had gone drinking. He was more concerned about the latter question. He wanted to know, “Then why didn’t you reply to my message?”

This time, the silence was even longer, so long that Shen Chang’an almost thought that this drunkard had fallen asleep.

Two breaths, clearly separated by distance, were strangely intertwined because of a video call.

Shen Chang’an subconsciously slowed his breathing, wanting to carefully capture the sound from the other side, but he heard a soft, as if shy, but also as if very aggrieved words.

    “…I feel like I’m pursuing a relationship with you…”

“But you’re just after my money…”

Shen Chang’an was very happy when he heard the first sentence, but when the second sentence rang out, he frowned and was directly amused by this. Enduring the anger in his heart, he asked with a smile, “Why do you think that? Did someone tell you something?”

Shen Chang’an knew that because of his identity as a streamer, as long as he approached Cheng Yi, people would say that he was greedy for money and willing to lower himself to cater to and please the powerful Cheng Yi for the sake of money.

He admitted that he had ulterior motives towards Cheng Yi, he was greedy for money, but…

Cheng Yi, this stranger he had never met, he really had romantic feelings for him.

Clearly they had never met, clearly he didn’t know anything about Cheng Yi, but just that one phone call that night, that one voice, that one simple breath, he suddenly inexplicably and uncontrollably fell in love with this person. Love arises without knowing where it comes from, and goes deep.

He even suspected that the other party had cast a spell on him, but as he slowly came into contact with Cheng Yi, he slowly came to understand him, and knew that this was an arrogant, proud, and precious young master.

He wondered if He Zhou would be dumbfounded if he heard Shen Chang’an’s evaluation of Cheng Yi, but now Cheng Yi was about to sell out his brother.

“He Zhou said it… He said you only like my money, that’s why you flirt with me and talk about relationships.”

Shen Chang’an couldn’t see Cheng Yi, but Cheng Yi’s face was very close to the phone screen. He could clearly see Shen Chang’an’s expression. Now that he realized that Shen Chang’an looked unhappy, he directly sold out his good brother.

So Cheng Yi really knew that he had ulterior motives…

Then why did he choose to make a video call to him now?

Was he watching him make a fool of himself?

Shen Chang’an lowered his eyes, trying to hide the panic and disappointment in his eyes. He asked in a low voice, “Then what about you? What do you think?”

Was he going to… leave him?

Cheng Yi was only busy looking at his face. His dizzy brain wasn’t working well, so he didn’t hear clearly. Seeing the sad look on the person in the phone, he subconsciously lowered his voice, the end of his tone rising, as if playing the part of a naive and innocent child, and asked in a small voice, “An An, what were you saying just now?”

    An An?

Shen Chang’an was a little stunned when he heard this address. He suddenly realized that the person on the other side was a drunkard. Shen Chang’an chuckled. Why was he arguing with a drunk person?

Whether this person would directly reject him or scold him when he woke up tomorrow was already a matter for tomorrow.

Now he just wanted to have a good chat with this drunkard.

“Cheng Yi, what color do you like?”

In the dark room, only the soft light of the phone shone on his face. Cheng Yi looked at the little fox who was happy again, and he also subconsciously bent his eyebrows, casually saying, “I like blue.”

He turned over and lay down on the slightly cool floor. In between movements, a burst of pain came from his calf. He frowned, endured it, and soon adapted to the pain. He held the phone in the air, admiring the person in the screen with a happy gaze.

The person in the screen frowned slightly, with a tangle in his eyes. He was silent for a long time, his cheeks flushed, and his clear, rippling eyes, filled with a watery light, looked over from afar through the lens.

He asked in a small voice:

“Then… what kind of partner do you want?”
