TRMLCM Chapter 109
by VolareChapter 109: Tempting Cabbage, Escaping Pig
After chatting with his fans for a while, Shen Chang’an finally ended his livestream perfectly.
After tidying up the room, Shen Chang’an turned off the lights and walked out of the livestreaming room. Cheng Yi was sitting on the sofa in the living room, facing him and making a phone call.
The dim light shone on his chiseled, handsome face, the sharp jawline clearly defined. With his sword-like eyebrows and bright eyes, his features were three-dimensional. His striking features gave off a sharp, fierce, and unapproachable aura.
However, his dark eyes were deep and bright. When he saw Shen Chang’an come out, they seemed to curve in a smile, closing the distance and instantly dispelling the feeling of aloofness.
“Meow~”
Shen Chang’an blinked, his thoughts returning. He couldn’t help but look at him again before bending down to pick up Berber, who was nuzzling his small head against his leg. Taking a few long strides, he quietly walked to Cheng Yi’s side and sat down, calmly stroking his cat.
The speaker wasn’t on, and from a distance, he couldn’t quite hear what the person on the other end of the phone was saying. He only vaguely heard a female voice mixed with static, the tone steady, sounding somewhat indifferent and stern.
“Okay, I understand.”
Cheng Yi replied to the person on the other end of the phone, reaching out to touch Berber’s head. When he unintentionally touched Shen Chang’an’s cool fingers, his dark eyes couldn’t help but glance at him. After looking at the thin clothes he was wearing, his eyes showed a hint of disapproval.
Shen Chang’an wasn’t angry at being glared at; he was rather pleased with the concern. He couldn’t help but hook his fingers around Cheng Yi’s warm fingertips and gently swayed them. His eyes were bright, and he smiled sheepishly, his lips slightly parting and moving. He mouthed silently: I forgot~
The air conditioning was on in the livestreaming room. He had been in that room for too long, and when he came out, he forgot that the air conditioning wasn’t on in the living room. He hadn’t realized it.
Cheng Yi ignored him, only flipping his wide palm over to wrap his cool hand in his, transferring his body heat.
It was still snowing in City C at night. The doors and windows were tightly closed, and the house was temporarily quiet.
The person on the other end of the phone seemed too lazy to say anything more, only simply giving Cheng Yi a few instructions. Cheng Yi leaned back on the sofa and said in a nonchalant tone, “Don’t worry, I’ll discuss it with him properly. When I handle things, you can rest assured.”
After the phone hung up, Cheng Yi picked up the blanket next to the sofa and wrapped it tightly around the person whose eyes were somewhat dull.
After scanning him up and down, he nodded with satisfaction, casually brushed the stray hair from his forehead, and asked in a low voice, “Sleepy?”
Shen Chang’an’s hands, along with Berber in his arms, were wrapped in the blanket. He half-closed his sleepy eyes, too lazy to struggle, only helping Berber, who was a little uncomfortable, to adjust.
“Yeah, a little tired.”
He had received too much stimulation today, which had consumed a lot of his energy. He had been forcing himself to maintain a working state while chatting with his fans.
Cheng Yi touched his nose, not daring to make a sound.
A few seconds later, he couldn’t help but move closer to Shen Chang’an, sitting close together. His eyes secretly swept over Shen Chang’an’s calm face, smelling the faint fragrance, and he calmly said, “That was my mom on the phone.”
Shen Chang’an perked up slightly, raising his eyes to look at him, a hint of doubt in his eyes. “Oh? What did you talk about?”
Perhaps because he was sleepy, his nasal voice was a little heavy, the words slurred, the ending notes rising, paired with those clear, dazed eyes, making him appear innocent and lovely.
Cheng Yi’s heart was melting from the cuteness. He stretched out his long arm and pulled him into his arms, lowering his head to rub his fair cheek affectionately, before giving him a quick kiss, openly taking advantage of the soft, fragrant tofu.
Shen Chang’an didn’t resist, obediently letting him do as he pleased. After being satisfied, he sighed contentedly, finally remembering the main thing. His dark eyes sparkling, he held onto him tightly and said leisurely:
“My mom wants to meet you.”
“Huh?” Shen Chang’an’s eyes suddenly cleared, his pupils dilated, and that indifferent, lazy, never-turn-over salted fish aura instantly shattered. His body stiffened, and he looked at Cheng Yi in disbelief, wondering if he had misheard.
Cheng Yi was looking at him. He had seen all those confused little expressions, which were so incredibly cute. An itch rose in his heart, and his Adam’s apple bobbed up and down as he chuckled softly.
“My family all knows about you, my dad, my mom, and my brother. I told them before.”
“You, this cabbage, have kidnapped the pig that our Cheng family has raised for over twenty years. They have to see how good you really are.”
The vibrations from the other person’s chest as he spoke startled Shen Chang’an, realizing that his reaction had been a bit much. His ears burning, he endured the shyness and slightly averted his gaze.
His long eyelashes trembled constantly, like a butterfly frightened and unwilling to land, lost and helpless.
He absentmindedly murmured, “…Who scolds themselves like that?”
“Oh, don’t they?”
Cheng Yi raised an eyebrow and teased in response, prompting Shen Chang’an to look at him again.
“Don’t be afraid.” Cheng Yi held his hand through the blanket, the playful smile on his face completely disappearing, his voice low, gentle, and soothing. “It’s just for two days. We’ll leave after the New Year.”
Shen Chang’an opened his mouth, his mind a blank.
There were still five days until the New Year, and he was still wondering when Cheng Yi would leave again.
Before, he had been thinking that if Cheng Yi was going back to City S for the New Year, he should go with him too. After all, he also had an apartment in City S. They could go out together during the day, and he could go back to livestream in the evening. The timing would be perfect.
But he hadn’t expected the accident and the surprise to come so suddenly, catching him so off guard.
Before he had even started to think about his worries, his lover had already started to plan carefully.
He had told his family about them, and his family was even inviting him to spend the New Year together.
In such an open era, homosexuality was still a minority. Many people, especially those whose thinking had already solidified, still held a mocking and discriminatory attitude towards such love.
That his own family could accept it was already more than Shen Chang’an dared to imagine, but now the other person’s family could also accept it peacefully.
Shen Chang’an didn’t know how much Cheng Yi had sacrificed behind the scenes for this relationship. He looked at Cheng Yi, only feeling a severe swelling in his heart, as if it were filled with ten thousand catties of cotton, aching and heavy.
And the other person was still chattering on, as if trying to make his heart be squeezed by the cotton and jump out of his chest.
…
“I have a permanent apartment in City S. If you don’t want to live there, we can also go back to the apartment at night. Anyway, I used to run wild and be willful, it’s not the first time.”
Cheng Yi’s voice was slow and gentle, he planned slowly, as if reciting a page of the most romantic poem.
“I’ll have someone buy a set of livestreaming equipment and put it in that apartment. You don’t have to ask your fans for leave when you go over there, it won’t affect your work.”
Suddenly, as if he had thought of something else, the topic abruptly changed, “An An, let’s go travel after the New Year.”
One second it was work, the next it was travel. The topic changed too quickly, and Shen Chang’an hadn’t reacted yet.
His clear, bright eyes were filled with a faint, misty shadow, gazing at those serious and sincere eyes.
In just an instant, his heart had already made a choice.
He nodded blankly, “Okay.”
