Chapter 14: Pure and Sweet Female Streamer

Assistant Chen felt his vision go dark as he scrolled through the hundreds of messages in the group chat. What did they mean by saying he had confirmed it? What exactly did he confirm?

The marketing manager had asked him that afternoon, but he didn’t know anything and hadn’t even replied. How did that turn into him confirming it?

But at this point, it was impossible to go back and clarify every single message. Hundreds, even thousands of messages had been sent throughout the afternoon. It wasn’t just the headquarters; even some of the branch offices had probably heard the gossip by now.

With a face full of agony, Assistant Chen pressed his hands together and began to pray to the heavens. It was fine if this information stayed within the gossip group, but it must never reach President Gu’s ears.

If President Gu saw that he was being rumored to be a creeper with a thing for kids, and that people had spent the entire afternoon discussing his preferred positions and stamina—and that the rumor had supposedly started with him…

He didn’t even dare to imagine how miserable his fate would be!

Fortunately, although the gossip group was chatting away happily, the news at least hadn’t reached Gu Yunzhao’s ears.

Gossip always favored the new over the old. Since Shen Li hadn’t shown his face at the company for a week, the employees in the gossip group had completely forgotten about this suspected presidential wife.

Assistant Chen’s heart, which had been hanging by a thread for a week, finally settled back into his chest.

Sigh, he really was just scaring himself. He had been on edge for a week, and yet nothing had happened, right?

During the lunch break, Assistant Chen, his mood finally lightened, hummed a song as he took the elevator downstairs to grab a meal.

Assistant Chen! From a distance, the marketing manager spotted him and waved for him to come over and share a table.

    Oh, what a coincidence?

Sit, sit. The marketing manager specifically picked up his phone from the table to make some room for Assistant Chen’s bag.

What are you looking at? Assistant Chen asked curiously. You can’t even put it down while eating?

Heh. The marketing manager gave a somewhat mysterious smile. You know me, I appreciate beauty. I’m watching a beautiful female streamer.

Assistant Chen burst into laughter instantly. There are plenty of beautiful streamers under the branch companies. Let me see which one you’re watching.

The marketing manager didn’t hold back and turned his phone around to show him.

The comments in the livestream room were incredibly enthusiastic.

The streamer was wearing a short-skirted maid outfit with cat ears and a collar. Her thin, delicate body was curled up in a gaming chair with her legs pulled to her chest. Her limbs were slender, yet her face still had a bit of baby fat. Her pale skin was as radiant as fine white porcelain. When the streamer spoke, it created a strange curiosity in the viewers about what it would feel like to pinch those cheeks. Although her words were bold and shy, the disdain and impatience in her eyes couldn’t be hidden.

Usually, viewers on streaming platforms hated this kind of act—acting pure while fishing for tips—but there was no helping it; the streamer’s face was simply too beautiful. Thus, the disdain, the contempt, and even the pretentiousness became a unique charm.

She was truly beautiful—if only that face didn’t look so familiar. Assistant Chen’s vision went dark as he gasped, his finger trembling as he pointed at the screen. This… this… which streamer is this?

The marketing manager didn’t understand why he was reacting so strongly. He sent another gift before saying, Xiao Li. I’m telling you, she’s gorgeous. She’s only been streaming for a week and she’s already hit the front page. It’s just that the content she broadcasts every day is really uninteresting.

While other female streamers sang, danced, or chatted, Xiao Li spent every day playing some crude-looking folk horror game.

No one knew which corner of the internet she had dug it up from.

The head of Yinfu Streaming even mentioned it when we had dinner the other day. Their operations team contacted Xiao Li, suggesting she change her content for more front-page promotions. Do you know what she said? The marketing manager chuckled at the memory and answered his own question before Assistant Chen could guess. She said she only started streaming so she could play the game. She literally made the dumplings just for the sake of the vinegar. Hey, how much promotion money did that game company pay her to make her so dedicated?

On the screen, the beautiful streamer was still messing around with her game, controlling her character to circle the room following the plot to find key items. Even a sudden jump-scare didn’t cause her expression to change.

Yeah, I’m not afraid of ghosts, Xiao Li said nonchalantly. So it was here. Took me long enough to find it. As she spoke, she picked up the item and put it in her inventory.

The manager had no reaction, but Assistant Chen was nearly suffocating.

That face was indeed beautiful, and it was indeed familiar!

How could it not be? He saw that face every day in the photo on his boss’s desk.

Even though one was in men’s clothing and the other in women’s, Xiao Li didn’t seem to have intended to change her appearance enough to be unrecognizable; she only wore a thin layer of light makeup to add some color. Assistant Chen matched the face to his memory in a single glance. When he asked for the name—Xiao Li. Great. The photo on the boss’s desk had the name Shen Li written on it in marker, and this streamer just happened to be called Xiao Li.

Could there really be such a coincidence in this world?

Assistant Chen didn’t even care about his food anymore. He opened his bag and started calling the head of Yinfu to demand all of Xiao Li’s information.

Please don’t let it be Shen Li, please don’t let it be Shen Li… Assistant Chen muttered his prayers like a mantra.

The heavens must have heard his plea, because the information sent over indeed did not have the name Shen Li on it.

But when Assistant Chen opened it, his vision went dark again, and he wished he could take back his prayer.

This was even worse than it being Shen Li!

Assistant Chen: President Gu, there is some information you might need to look at.

    Assistant Chen: File transfer pending.

In his office, Gu Yunzhao had just opened the file and felt that he could probably leave work early today. As soon as he clicked the link provided by Assistant Chen, he felt his expression was about to crumble.

He had been wondering why Shen Li had been so well-behaved lately; it turned out he was quietly causing trouble behind his back. Truly…

Gu Yunzhao couldn’t help but let out a cold laugh through gritted teeth. As expected, sometimes being too gentle was useless. When a child needs education, you have to get hands-on.

Shen Li, who was currently livestreaming, suddenly sneezed twice.

Strange, very strange. Who’s talking about me behind my back again?

Ever since he spent an entire afternoon napping on the office sofa last time, Gu Yunzhao hadn’t allowed him to go to the company again. Since he couldn’t complete the strategy mission of accompanying the CEO to work like in the novels, Shen Li had to find something else to do.

As soon as Xu Cheng and Zhao Yingying heard this, they immediately had an idea. Their game had been finished and launched for over half a month, but they suffered from a lack of traffic. So far, the player count was only a handful of people—fewer than the members of their production team.

Previously, they couldn’t do anything because Linzhong High School had summer make-up classes, but now all three of them had found excuses to escape the cram school. The plan to use a beautiful female streamer to draw traffic was brought up again.

Hey, hey, hey! Shen Li held his hands over his chest, trying to flee. Don’t look at me for this kind of thing!

It wasn’t that he was being too sensitive; it was just that the gazes of the two in front of him were practically predatory.

It made Shen Li’s skin crawl, and cold sweat trickled down his spine.

The two exchanged a glance, gave a sinister laugh, and reached out at the same time.

    Aaaaaaaaah! Yamete!

The tragic scream echoed for three days, scaring the birds in the trees outside into flying away in all directions.

Despite his best efforts, Shen Li failed to escape their clutches. He was caught by the duo, forced into a maid outfit, and turned into a pure and sweet female streamer to draw in traffic.

Planning Department – Liu: Holy crap, so cute and beautiful. No wonder President Gu is so obsessed that he brought him to the office.

Marketing Department – Zhang: Such a beautiful face. Why can’t he be my wife?

Design Department – Xu: Wake up. That’s President Gu’s wife.

Planning Department – Wu: Is it confirmed that he’s the wife? Maybe he’s just a relative.

Marketing Department – Wang: Our manager asked Assistant Chen this afternoon, and he said it was the Madam.

Planning Department – Zhao: Speaking of going to report work this afternoon, I took the chance to look. He’s really incredibly beautiful. His face is even smaller and more delicate in person than in photos.

Public Relations Department – Chen: Just how beautiful is he? Damn, I regret not going to report work this afternoon.

Finance Department – Liu: My god, I wouldn’t even dare to Photoshop someone to look like that. What does it mean for him to just naturally look like that?

Human Resources Department – Zhang: Why does he look like a minor? He looks like he’s fifteen or sixteen.

Legal Department – Zhang: Hey, wait, don’t let him be a minor. Our country has strict minor protection laws.

Legal Department – Li: I’m so afraid President Gu will end up in jail for being a creeper.

Public Relations Department – Liu: After all these years of President Gu staying away from women, it turns out his preference is beautiful little teenagers.

Marketing Department – Xu: It might not necessarily be that. Maybe he’s just so beautiful that age doesn’t even matter anymore.

Finance Department – Cheng: Am I the only one worried about the little beauty’s frame? It doesn’t seem to match President Gu’s size, holy crap.

Human Resources Department – Qian: Looks like he’d be done for in bed.

Public Relations Department – Wang: I can’t… although the words are crude, the logic is sound…

Customer Service Department – Zhou: But the words are way too crude.

Customer Service Department – Zheng: The size difference looks truly massive. It feels like President Gu is a whole size larger than him.

Front Desk – Li: It actually is massive. When they left at noon, President Gu had both hands around his waist and literally lifted him over the front desk to carry him out. [Photo]

Public Relations Department – Sun: Holy moly, feels like someone’s going to be tossed around like a stir-fry tonight.

Planning Department – Liu: With President Gu’s muscles, I’m afraid the little beauty will be half-dead by morning. [Drool]
