    Extra 01

In the first year after arriving in the UK, Lan Yuan had forgotten all the English she learned seven or eight years ago, and her daily life became difficult.

On this day, Lan Yuan went out to buy bread and accidentally got lost again.

At that time, Shen Xian was already teaching piano in a church school and had to go to work on time on weekdays.

At five o’clock in the afternoon, Shen Xian came home from work——

    “Yuanyuan, Yuanyuan…”

After shouting several times, no one answered, and seeing that the bedroom was empty, Shen Xian had already guessed that Lan Yuan was lost, and immediately ran out to look for someone.

The summer evening in London was beautiful. Shen Xian was walking among the crowd in a blue striped shirt and jeans, with no time to pay attention to the golden light on the horizon.

When she ran to the bakery, she saw Lan Yuan sitting quietly on a chair near the glass window drinking coffee. She was relieved for a moment – fortunately, no one was missing!

Chen Xian tapped the glass lightly.

Lan Yuan raised her eyes and smiled slightly, her longing eyes turned into loving eyes as Shen Xian moved, and she quickly walked out of the store carrying the paper bag containing the bread.

Chen Xian’s forehead was covered with fine sweat, and Lan Yuan quickly took out a handkerchief to help her wipe it clean.

“Don’t run so hard next time!”

Chen Xian grabbed Lan Yuan’s paper bag and held it for her, then said softly, “You are my life, I was too worried, so I ran in a hurry!”

Lan Yuan’s heart was filled with sweetness by these sudden words of love. She couldn’t hold back her smile even though she pursed her lips, and her eyes were full of love.

“Don’t worry, my maximum range of activities ends at this bakery. I won’t run around anywhere else.”

Shen Xian felt even more guilty when she heard this. She lowered her head silently with the corners of her mouth turned down. After coming to the UK, she didn’t spend enough time with Lan Yuan. Instead, she needed Lan Yuan to take care of her every day when she went to work.

“Oops,” Lan Yuan rubbed Shen Xian’s soft hair, trying to comfort her, “You know what? I forgot the way home today, but I’m not afraid at all!” Lan Yuan said with a hint of pride.

“Why?” Shen Xian raised his eyes and asked Lan Yuan.

“Because I know Shen Chen will definitely come to me, so I just need to wait.” Lan Yuan looked at Shen Xian tenderly and said.

“But you will be bored and it will delay you a lot of things.” Shen Xian remembered the last time Lan Yuan sat alone on the steps from noon to evening.

“I ate a croissant, drank a cup of delicious coffee, and saw the beautiful scenery. I wasn’t bored!” Lan Yuan recounted her activities after getting lost.

“Let’s buy more things on the weekend next time.” Shen Xian sighed, and she could tell that Lan Yuan was enjoying herself in pain.

“But the food doesn’t taste good after being stored for a long time. I’m very picky!” Lan Yuan felt sorry that Shen Xian couldn’t have a good rest on weekends and had to accompany her on shopping.

“How about asking mom to go out with you next time?” Shen Xian asked tentatively.

They didn’t live with Shen Xian’s mother after they came to the UK. Shen Xian didn’t want the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law to bother Lan Yuan. Even though his mother was a very nice person, she still felt that she shouldn’t live under the same roof!

“I’m really fine. I’ll bring my vocabulary book next time so I can still study if I get lost.” Lan Yuan took the initiative to hold Shen Xian’s hand and said.

“Yuan Yuan, I think you are trying to compromise for me, and I don’t want you to be like this!” Shen Xian couldn’t bear to give in like this to Lan Yuan.

“We are birds of the same forest. You don’t regard me as someone who can share joys and sorrows together.” Lan Yuan comforted Shen Xian. She felt that her Shen Chen was good in everything, but it was not good to be too selfless.

“I’m not…” Shen Xian tried his best to explain.

“I know you are not someone who cannot share joys and sorrows,” Lan Yuan interrupted Chen Xian and held him in his arms, “You can sacrifice for me, and I can also give in for you.”

“Besides, from now on I will go to school and you will earn money to support me. Does this count as you being willing to do whatever you want for me?” Lan Yuan said, patting Shen Xian’s back gently.

“No, I was very happy raising you.” Shen Xian hugged Lan Yuan’s waist and said.

“So for the same reason, I’m not sad when I’m waiting for you, because I know Shen Chen will come to pick me up.” Lan Yuan said gently and patiently.

“Shen Chen, you are my hope, and you have been my hope for a long, long time!” Lan Yuan added this sentence with a very firm tone.

Because of Lan Yuan’s love words, Chen Xian clung to this embrace for a long time and wouldn’t let go!

The setting sun filled the entire city of London, and the light fell on the two of them, adding a touch of warmth to their already quiet lives. The green grass also sympathized with this friendship and took the initiative to bathe in the sunshine with them.

“Chen Chen, from now on I will stand on a conspicuous street sign when I get lost, so that you can see it at a glance, so that you don’t have to be in such a hurry.” Lan Yuan first let go of her arms and held Shen Xian’s hand instead.

“Yuan Yuan, where you stand is the most conspicuous street sign. I am your hope, and you are my direction.” Shen Xian said softly while holding her hand and walking towards home.

“Why is Shen Chen so good at talking about love today!” Lan Yuan praised Shen Xian, whose face turned crimson because of Shen Xian’s unintentional teasing.

“When you are close to vermillion, you are red; when you are close to ink, you are black; when you are close to the kite, you are full of love words!” Shen Xian looked at Lan Yuan and smiled with his teeth, which was particularly bright.

“Go home quickly and stop talking so much.” Lan Yuan was worried that if Shen Xian kept talking, she would not be able to help but kiss her on the street.

“Okay!” Shen Xian nodded seriously, “Let’s go home!”

At the last second when the sunset completely set, the two of them walked to the door of their home and opened the door.

It’s dark outside, and the lights in the house are on again!
