The Flower Of The High Mountain Is Pregnant With The Son Of The Sand Sculpture Ceo Chapter 12
byChapter 12: Dirty Tricks
Lu Lin had never truly considered Lu Shangyan his brother, nor had he ever taken him seriously. The only reason he tolerated Lu Shangyan was because the boy was obedient, essentially a loyal “lackey.” That was why, when a young Lu Shangyan was shuffled between several families and needed a temporary place to stay at their house, Lu Lin was willing to share the floor of his bedroom so Lu Shangyan had somewhere to sleep.
Whenever it was the turn of the other two aunts to look after Lu Shangyan, Lu Lin became highly wary. Every time he saw Lu Shangyan approaching the front gate from a distance, he would move stools to block the entrance, stacking them higher than himself, just to prevent the little burden from taking advantage of their family.
He looked down on Lu Shangyan, yet found him easy to bully and manipulate. As a child, Lu Shangyan was his punching bag. Even when Lu Shangyan grew up and could offer them benefits, Lu Lin showed no restraint.
In this extremely unfair situation, any minor mistake Lu Shangyan made would be infinitely magnified in Lu Lin’s eyes, turning him into a treacherous ingrate who was trying to smear their name!
After hearing Chen Shuo’s exaggerated account, Lu Lin was instantly consumed by rage. He pressed down on Lu Shangyan’s arm, applying continuous force until the arm was completely rigid.
In that moment, Lu Shangyan felt that perhaps he wouldn’t die from suffocation today, but from a broken neck.
His vision blurred, then turned a deep crimson, and then the scenes of his life began to flash before his eyes as his body plummeted endlessly.
Lu Lin seemed to be shouting something else, but Lu Shangyan’s ears felt clogged with sand; he couldn’t make out a single word.
This was the first time Chen Shuo had seen Lu Shangyan in such a miserable state—unable to talk back or fight back, just being unilaterally abused. He immediately grabbed his phone, intending to film the scene from every angle for later enjoyment.
Sitting in the luxury car, Qiqi couldn’t bear to watch any longer. She secretly called the police. Seeing Chen Shuo’s smug, cheap look as he prepared to record, she didn’t have time to get out of the car. She immediately raised her hand and hurled the bag she was using to cover her face, hitting Chen Shuo squarely on the back of the head.
His good mood ruined, Chen Shuo glared back with wide, bovine eyes. “Damn it! Are you trying to die?!”
Although Qiqi was a girl who hung out at bars, willing to get into the cars of generous, wealthy patrons and spend a few days with them, she wasn’t the type of woman who would disregard everything for money.
She got out of the car, slamming the door shut with all her might, hoping to damage the car so Chen Shuo would have to pay dearly for the repairs.
Qiqi rolled her eyes at him. “I think you’re the one who’s sick! Does he even know you? Why are you stirring up trouble here for no reason! Having a fling with a piece of garbage like you means I won’t be able to hold my head up among my sisters! My value is going to drop!”
Chen Shuo stopped worrying about filming the video and focused on teaching Qiqi a lesson, reminding her who the paying “boss” was.
Fortunately, they were close to the police station. Qiqi had only dodged a few steps when she saw police officers running out.
Qiqi quickly hid behind a female officer, pointing at Chen Shuo. “He was inciting someone to commit a crime! I was just doing a good deed by stopping him!”
Lu Lin, still in a fit of rage, struggled like a calf after being pulled away by the police, trying to charge forward to strike again. He bumped into the female officer next to him, causing her face to hit the ground and leaving a large scrape.
He was finally subdued and truly calmed down only after being firmly pinned to the ground, unable to move.
Afterward, the police offered to take Lu Shangyan to the hospital first, but perhaps the severe pain in his neck temporarily masked the pain in his stomach, as he felt it was no big deal. Moreover, if he went to the hospital for an injury report, Lu Lin’s situation would likely become much more complicated, so he shook his head and refused.
There was a surveillance camera at the street corner that clearly recorded Lu Shangyan as the complete victim, not even having spoken a word in retaliation.
After the investigation was complete, Lu Shangyan was released. Lu Lin, having entered the station three times in one day, was detained for five days.
Lu Shangyan stated that he wanted to resolve the matter privately and would not pursue further charges. The police disagreed, believing that someone like Lu Lin wouldn’t change unless he truly suffered some consequences, and would only become more arrogant.
Lu Shangyan glanced back at Lu Lin, who glared fiercely at him. “I don’t need a homosexual’s forgiveness!”
“I’m telling you, Lu Shangyan, I’m putting this on the record right now: as long as you are a homosexual, as long as you don’t fix this perverted habit, I will beat you every time I see you!”
With that, he swung his fist and lunged forward again. Since he refused to change after repeated incidents, anything Lu Shangyan said was useless.
After a whole day of turmoil, he hadn’t accomplished anything, and a knot of frustration was lodged uncomfortably in his chest.
He wandered back to the street corner and saw Chen Shuo’s luxury car, which hadn’t been driven away yet. He decided to hide in the shadows.
When Chen Shuo finally reached his car, spitting curses and flipping the middle finger behind him every few steps, Lu Shangyan reached out, quickly yanked him into the darkness, and simultaneously twisted both of Chen Shuo’s hands behind his back with his other hand.
It was pitch black. Chen Shuo couldn’t see Lu Shangyan’s face and immediately shivered, thinking someone was trying to rob him.
Lu Shangyan sensed this keenly. Just as Chen Shuo tried to fight back, Lu Shangyan was a step ahead, raising his arm and pressing it firmly across Chen Shuo’s neck.
Chen Shuo felt a cold object pressed against his neck and began to tremble even more, but he tried to sound calm. “Let’s talk this out. The police station is right behind us. If you lay a hand on me, you won’t get away either.”
Lu Shangyan tilted his head and pressed his arm lower. Soon, Chen Shuo became like Lu Shangyan had been moments before, choked and unable to utter another word.
“So you’re this much of a coward, Chen Shuo?” His voice was even. “Now, cooperate with me and record a voice message explaining to my brother whether or not I am actually gay.”
Hearing his voice, Chen Shuo instantly felt hot all over. Embarrassed, he twisted his body, trying to fight, but the cold object pressed against him slowly moved to his carotid artery. He froze, not daring to move again.
“If you dare to hurt me, I guarantee you will pay a painful price.”
Lu Shangyan let out a soft laugh, completely unlike his usual cold but gentle demeanor. It carried a dark, quiet malice that made half of Chen Shuo’s body prickle with fear.
“You saw what happened earlier. He thought I was gay and tried to kill me. Before I die, I might as well kill you first to take you down with me.”
Chen Shuo’s legs turned to jelly, but he insisted, “You wouldn’t dare.”
Lu Shangyan didn’t reply, simply using the object in his hand to slowly grind against Chen Shuo’s skin.
Chen Shuo was immobilized, his entire life in Lu Shangyan’s hands. As time ticked by, he felt the skin starting to hurt intensely, and he even thought he smelled blood.
In a battle of nerves, he was losing.
He only lasted less than three minutes before nodding his head, his teeth chattering, and agreeing.
He figured he could always come back later to cause trouble, or just go back and report Lu Shangyan to the police right away, ensuring Lu Shangyan got locked up too.
Lu Shangyan took out his phone and signaled for him to cooperate.
Chen Shuo could only force a smile and claim that a girl he used to like was infatuated with Lu Shangyan, which made him resent Lu Shangyan. He had been looking for an opportunity to retaliate, which was why he had spread rumors that Lu Shangyan was gay.
About ninety percent of that statement was actually true.
Lu Shangyan saved the recording before releasing the pressure on Chen Shuo. Chen Shuo immediately clutched his neck and ran away. He felt his neck—it was dry, not a single drop of blood had been shed—and he finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Then he looked at what Lu Shangyan had been holding. It wasn’t a dagger that could slit a throat; it was a broken bottle opener!
Chen Shuo had been miserable all afternoon, and his eyes bulged with fury.
Lu Shangyan looked at his pathetic figure and laughed again, a sound full of mockery.
Then he said with extreme contempt, “Your legs are still shaking so much. You didn’t happen to pee your pants from fright, did you?”
He had always disliked Lu Shangyan, and now he had lost face so spectacularly in front of him. He couldn’t hold back, charging forward to reclaim the dignity he had lost today.
Lu Shangyan took the opportunity to step half a pace forward, positioning himself directly in front of the surveillance camera, and took a solid slap on the arm.
With this back-and-forth of dirty tricks, he wasn’t afraid of going to the police station again.
Chen Shuo didn’t have so many calculations. Seeing Lu Shangyan look like a weakling now, retreating a few steps after being hit, he became excited. He decided to vent all the frustration he had accumulated over the years and teach Lu Shangyan a proper lesson.
But before Lu Shangyan could retaliate again, a car rounded the corner and sped toward the two of them.
The headlights were blinding. Chen Shuo didn’t have time to strike again before he was violently kicked in the abdomen.
Lu Shangyan squinted, finally recognizing the person as Pei Yumin, who had been silent for almost a day.
Chen Shuo also slammed into the tree, but he was much more severely injured than Lu Shangyan, clutching his stomach and lying on the ground, unable to get up for a long time.
Lu Shangyan walked over, pretending not to notice, and seized the chance to stomp on Chen Shuo’s paralyzed leg several times.
Chen Shuo cursed angrily. “If your damn eyes are blind, go see an eye doctor!”
Pei Yumin had just learned everything that had happened that day and had nearly caused several accidents while rushing over in the car. Hearing Chen Shuo’s curse, he lost control. Unlike Lu Shangyan, he didn’t worry about whether he could bear the consequences of his actions.
He wasn’t afraid, and stepped directly onto Chen Shuo’s thigh.
Chen Shuo didn’t exercise; the flesh on his thigh was soft and loose. Pei Yumin slid his foot down, eventually resting just the tip of his shoe on the skin and slowly grinding it.
This time, Chen Shuo was drenched in sweat from the pain, screaming and howling.
When Chen Shuo rolled on the ground, Pei Yumin kicked him hard several more times.
Lu Shangyan couldn’t bear to listen anymore and tugged at Pei Yumin’s arm. “That’s enough.”
Pei Yumin didn’t listen, only shielding Lu Shangyan behind him.
He had met someone today and learned a lot about Lu Shangyan’s past. Now, looking at Lu Shangyan’s face, his heart ached. His hands trembling, he gripped Lu Shangyan’s arm, careful not to use too much force.
Chen Shuo took the opportunity to scramble up from the ground, stumbling forward while leaning on the wall. After only a few steps, another car stopped behind him. The person inside opened the door and yelled, “Chen Shuo, you little bastard! Get back here right now!”
Chen Shuo froze. He turned around and saw the person was his father, his biological father!
His eyes instantly lit up. He rushed over, crying out in distress, “Dad, quickly help me find someone and make them go to jail!”
Chen Hongfei’s face stiffened. He raised his hand and slapped Chen Shuo repeatedly.
Chen Shuo’s face swelled up, and blood trickled from his mouth as he covered his face.
Chen Hongfei looked at him with disappointment. “You worthless scoundrel! Do you know who you just provoked?!”
