The Flower Of The High Mountain Is Pregnant With The Son Of The Sand Sculpture Ceo Chapter 11
byChapter 11: Just Die Outside
Lu Shangyan went through his classes like a zombie, pulling out his phone countless times, wanting to send a message.
But after several attempts, he simply couldn’t bring himself to ask. The wages from his various part-time jobs—forget advancing fifty thousand—even if he only advanced ten thousand, it would take him over a year of work to pay back.
Moreover, these part-time jobs weren’t daily; he might be dismissed next month if they no longer needed him. Under these circumstances, he had no confidence to ask for an advance.
The only real opportunity was the hotel job Pei Yumin had introduced him to, but he hadn’t worked there long. Asking for an advance was even harder, and he felt certain that if he asked, Pei Yumin would find out.
He didn’t want Pei Yumin to know about his family troubles.
Just as he reached the hotel entrance, pondering what to do, his phone vibrated in his pocket.
It was the police.
His right eyelid twitched, and he immediately sensed trouble. He took several deep breaths before answering.
Lu Lin had been arrested and taken to the police station for fighting, and Lu Shangyan needed to bail him out. He hated his so-called brother, but he couldn’t truly abandon him. He could only grit his teeth and ask for time off first.
Coincidentally, Song Yuxin was also present today. When the manager heard he needed leave, he nervously told Lu Shangyan to speak to Song Yuxin.
Lu Shangyan found it odd. Why did a part-timer need to bother the big boss just to ask for a day off?
Strange as it was, he had to comply.
Song Yuxin’s office was ridiculously large, with a separate rest area tucked inside, featuring an equally enormous bed.
Lu Shangyan only managed a quick glance as Song Yuxin emerged and swiftly closed the door.
Song Yuxin looked pale and weak, yet he managed a gentle smile and asked, “I heard your brother is in trouble? Do you need my help?”
Lu Shangyan shook his head. After meeting his gaze for a few seconds, he resignedly lowered his head. “I want to advance some wages. Fifty thousand.”
He truly had no choice. If he didn’t do this, Lu Lin would likely stay there and cause more trouble, turning into a bottomless pit beside him.
Besides, his family’s mess, like his poverty, couldn’t be hidden forever. He had lived this way since childhood, and nothing would change now.
As for Pei Yumin… he was just a casual acquaintance he had known for a few extra days. Reverting to strangers wouldn’t matter much.
Song Yuxin didn’t press for details, simply saying, “I will lend it to you under my personal name.”
Lu Shangyan frowned, his eyes full of confusion.
Song Yuxin explained, “I know your situation. If you keep working without pay, it will be hard to sustain yourself. If you borrow my money, you can repay it slowly based on your circumstances.”
Lu Shangyan took a step back, remembering the man who had offended him in this hotel before. “Why are you helping me so much? We’ve only met once.”
Song Yuxin chuckled. “Fifty thousand is nothing to me. I’ve already earned that much in the time we’ve been talking. The money I donate every year has several more zeros than what you’re asking to borrow.”
“Do you remember the cleaner from before? He often mentioned you to me. I have a good impression of you, so I want to help. Consider it my good deed for the day.”
With the explanation laid out, Lu Shangyan saw no need to press further. Doing so would make him seem greedy—asking for money while still trying to adhere strictly to his principles.
As long as he achieved his goal, that was enough. He had always lived this way. He didn’t care about loss, nor was he afraid of exchange. He was already alone in the world; to him, the one paying the price in any loss or exchange was always the other party.
Lu Shangyan accepted the transfer, then quickly wrote an IOU and pushed it toward him. “Mr. Song, I will repay you as soon as possible. But before I leave, I have one more request.”
Their eyes met, and Lu Shangyan was the first to look down. “I hope you won’t tell Mr. Tang about this.”
Song Yuxin nodded and said, “Alright.” But no sooner had Lu Shangyan left than Tang Suichen emerged from the room with the large bed.
The collar of his shirt was open, faintly revealing suggestive marks. He laughed and teased Song Yuxin, “You look more like the boss than I do.”
All traces of a smile vanished from Song Yuxin’s face; he merely stood obediently beside him.
It wasn’t until the sound of running water came from the inner room that Song Yuxin spoke again. “Should I send him home?”
Tang Suichen changed his partners quickly, with Jian Guo being the only exception. Recently, he had even thrown a minor tantrum over Jian Guo, causing Tang Suichen to drop all his work and spend a long time coaxing him back. Since then, Tang Suichen kept him close whenever he had free time.
This was the first time Song Yuxin had seen Tang Suichen indulge someone so much, even after they had been intimate for so long.
Because Jian Guo said he didn’t like the smell of the condoms Tang Suichen bought, Tang Suichen had just called Song Yuxin in so Jian Guo could vent his anger by scolding him.
Song Yuxin stood by the bed, watching Jian Guo, covered in marks of affection, nestled in Tang Suichen’s arms. Jian Guo angrily hit him with a pillow. “I! Hate! Fruit! Flavors!”
His name was “Guo” (meaning fruit), and his innocent appearance often led people to mistake him for a young girl, which he disliked.
But Song Yuxin had only bought the supplies as Tang Suichen instructed.
Tang Suichen was clearly enjoying the show, stroking Jian Guo’s head and laughing, indulging his every whim. Seeing Song Yuxin being bullied, he even asked, “Isn’t Little Guoguo adorable?”
Song Yuxin could only agree.
The water sounds soon stopped, and a voice called from inside, “I don’t like the smell of this shower gel either! I want a floral scent!”
Tang Suichen chuckled, signaling Song Yuxin to hurry and take care of it. “Go home after you buy it. I’ll take him home. The kid wants to watch a movie and have a candlelight dinner to celebrate our three-month anniversary.”
“I plan to officially confess to him this time and confirm our relationship. But I’ve never dated before, Secretary Song. Do you think I’m rushing things?”
Tang Suichen had never celebrated anniversaries. Judging by this, was he finally settling down for a serious relationship?
But Song Yuxin wasn’t in a position to comment, nor did he need to. “You should decide for yourself.”
Tang Suichen watched his rigid back as he left, his eyes narrowing involuntarily.
–
By the time Lu Lin was bailed out, it was already evening.
The matter should have been resolved quickly, but Lu Lin, upon being released the first time, heard that Pei Yumin had been released earlier. He immediately flew into a rage, shouting at the police station entrance that Lu Shangyan was useless for letting the person who hurt him escape! And for making him suffer here for nothing!
Lu Shangyan just wanted him to leave quickly and pushed him with a little extra force. But for Lu Lin, who was nursing a grudge and being unreasonable, this was like adding fuel to the fire.
Unable to gain an advantage over Pei Yumin, he sought to take it out on Lu Shangyan. Instinctively, he kicked Lu Shangyan right behind the knee.
Lu Shangyan’s legs buckled, and he stumbled back several steps, finally catching himself on a wooden table behind him to avoid falling flat on his face. He looked utterly wretched.
Lu Lin was furious and lunged to throw a punch, but the police were watching nearby and quickly restrained Lu Lin again.
Lu Shangyan looked at his vicious face, listening to his curses. His head spun, and his body ached.
He suspected he had hit himself hard; the pain in his lower back was now radiating to his abdomen.
Seeing that Lu Lin showed no remorse, the police took him back for a more thorough lecture and made him write a five-thousand-word letter of repentance.
He initially refused, but he was a bully who feared authority. Seeing the police wouldn’t back down, he obediently admitted his mistake and apologized, sitting at the small desk scratching his head and ears while trying to write the self-criticism. However, he couldn’t write several characters in a single sentence, dragging the process out until evening.
Lu Shangyan waited outside. After sitting for a while, the pain in his stomach became unbearable, so he switched to squatting, pressing one hand tightly against his lower abdomen to find some relief.
A female officer saw the cold sweat beading on his forehead and offered him hot water, urging him to go to the hospital. But he was afraid Lu Lin would panic and cause more trouble if he wasn’t there when he came out, so he refused, enduring until nightfall.
When Lu Lin finally emerged, he had learned his lesson and didn’t dare to throw a tantrum immediately. It wasn’t until they turned the corner that he dared to quietly express his dissatisfaction.
Lu Shangyan was truly unable to walk, so he leaned against a tree, using his phone to call a taxi. Lu Lin continued to chatter incessantly beside him.
He was already annoyed enough, but then someone else came to make things worse.
Chen Shuo drove his rented luxury car to a stop right in front of him, honking the horn frantically as if afraid Lu Shangyan wouldn’t notice. His pretty girlfriend sat in the passenger seat. She looked embarrassed by the scene, afraid of onlookers pointing fingers, and used her bag to cover half her face.
Lu Shangyan had already seen him out of the corner of his eye. He turned, leaning sideways against the tree trunk, intending to ignore him.
Chen Shuo sneered. “Lu Shangyan, did you switch to a new man again? But your taste is getting worse and worse. The last one wasn’t great, but at least he was decent-looking. This one looks bad both in face and character.”
“What’s wrong? Is your business so poor now? You’ll earn any money and latch onto any man? You’re even bringing your lover out to stand on the street.”
“And why the terrible complexion? Don’t tell me you caught an STD? Well, that makes sense. You moved out just to hook up with men and earn some pocket money. With your frequency of clients, it would be strange if you didn’t get sick!”
Lu Lin was already difficult, and now he was faced with a provocateur. He was about to retort, but after Chen Shuo’s barrage, the curses he was about to utter were involuntarily swallowed.
“What do you mean? What finding men?!”
Chen Shuo laughed louder. “Did he trick you into sleeping with him? He’s no innocent virgin. He told me himself that two hundred a night is enough. Now that he’s sick, the price is probably even lower. Make sure you don’t overpay!”
Lu Lin’s head went hot. He spun around and fiercely grabbed Lu Shangyan’s neck. “You like men? Are you shameless?! Our family can’t afford this disgrace! What will outsiders think of me if this gets out? You might as well just die outside!”
Lu Shangyan’s lower back hit the tree again, and the pain intensified. He nearly blacked out from the impact. It took him a long time to regain his strength.
Struggling through the suffocation, he managed to gasp, “Brother, don’t listen to his nonsense. I don’t know him.”
Chen Shuo’s eyes darted around, and he finally realized. “If you’re his brother, you need to teach him a good lesson. Everyone at school knows he likes men, and he plays around a lot privately. Your family’s reputation has probably been ruined by him long ago!”
