    Chapter 70: Going Home

    Chapter 70

A year later, the youth romance film First Snow, starring Pei Huaixue and Gu Minghe, officially premiered.

The box office had already sold well during the pre-sale period, and now that it was released on Valentine’s Day, everyone who saw the promotional poster hanging at the cinema entrance was drawn in by Pei Huaixue’s stunning beauty and walked into the theater.

In the year since their remarriage, Pei Huaixue had become much more low-key after his identity reveal caused him social death. He rarely appeared online, and even his Douyin account was updated infrequently. Aside from filming this movie, he hadn’t been seen much.

This was because he was busy managing Xingyue Agency. After formally taking over the company, he was incredibly busy every day. Whenever he had free time, he was busy sticking close to Gu Minghe. Where would he find time to care about the fans?

As time passed, the heat surrounding the Shippers slowly died down.

Fans came and went in the super topic, eventually leaving behind only those who were content to quietly enjoy their retirement. They would ship when there was content and lurk when there wasn’t.

Occasionally, someone would run into Gu Minghe and Pei Huaixue shopping, but everyone tacitly agreed not to disturb them. Knowing that their CP was quietly happy was enough.

Now that the movie was released, the joyful memories of shipping from a year ago returned.

The super topic, which had been in retirement, became lively again. Fans booked theaters, organized efforts to boost pre-sale box office numbers, and were eager to see the film immediately.

    On Valentine’s Day.

Pei Huaixue, wearing sunglasses, a hat, and a mask, quietly left the company and got into the car driven by Gu Minghe, who had come to pick him up.

As soon as he got in, he was enveloped in the man’s warm embrace.

Gu Minghe held Pei Huaixue, took off his mask, and kissed his lips. He gently rubbed their noses together. “Husband, Happy Valentine’s Day.”

Pei Huaixue reached out and hooked his arms around his Husband’s neck, deepening the kiss in response.

As the temperature in the car gradually rose, Pei Huaixue’s jacket was slowly removed. Although the heat was on, he couldn’t help but shiver.

Gu Minghe stopped what he was doing and quickly wrapped the jacket back around his Husband.

    “Are you still cold?”

Pei Huaixue shook his head, then continued to tilt his slender neck, soliciting a kiss. “I’m not cold. It’s just that you suddenly touched my waist, and I felt a little ticklish. It wasn’t because of the cold…”

Gu Minghe didn’t believe him and told him to sit properly.

Pei Huaixue pouted. “It’s not like we haven’t done it in the car before.”

    “That was summer.”

“But it’s spring now,” Pei Huaixue reached out and scratched Gu Minghe’s palm, his eyes glistening. “I won’t catch a cold that easily.”

Gu Minghe desperately wanted to firmly refuse, but he couldn’t resist as his Husband climbed onto his lap. The delicate sensation transmitted from his taut thigh muscles caused his eyes to darken. He took the initiative, pressing Pei Huaixue down onto the slowly reclining seat…

In the vast parking lot, faint, ambiguous sounds could be heard.

From time to time, cars drove past. Due to the intense nervousness, all of Pei Huaixue’s senses and emotions were infinitely magnified. Sweating lightly, he bit down hard on Gu Minghe’s shoulder, preventing himself from making a sound.

The two arrived at the cinema half an hour after the official start time.

The movie had already begun when they entered. Gu Minghe held Pei Huaixue’s hand, carefully navigating the dark steps of the theater to find their seats.

This was Pei Huaixue’s first time watching a movie he starred in at the cinema. The surrounding seats were filled with his and Gu Minghe’s fans. The two of them, secretly hidden among them, felt quite a thrill.

“Ahhh, it’s so sweet! Director Chen Jin is such a good filmmaker!!”

“Holy cow, a beauty critical hit! Pei Huaixue’s face is perfect for the big screen!”

Fans’ live feedback constantly echoed around them. Pei Huaixue felt his face flush, and he quickly buried his burning cheeks in Gu Minghe’s shoulder, though his ears were secretly perked up, listening to what the people next to them were saying. When he heard praise, he couldn’t help but giggle, his little cat tail wagging high.

“Although it’s Pei Huaixue’s first time acting and his skills are a bit green, his good looks make up for it. Plus, his acting isn’t distracting, and his co-star is his Husband, Film Emperor Gu. They have such great CP chemistry standing together, I’m dying from the sweetness!”

“I need to watch this two, three, four, five times!”

“This kind of sweet movie is exactly what you should watch on Valentine’s Day. It makes me believe in love again!”

Throughout the entire movie, Pei Huaixue felt lightheaded from all the praise. When the film ended, he was still savoring the feeling.

“Husband, was my acting good?” Afraid that the praise was just fan bias, Pei Huaixue couldn’t help but ask Gu Minghe.

Gu Minghe had long been stunned by his Husband’s beauty on the big screen. Forget the fans wanting to watch it multiple times; he wanted to watch it multiple times too.

When his Husband asked him, he replied, “Of course your acting was great, exceptionally good. Baby, you are definitely a genius actor. It would be a shame if your acting didn’t win you a Film Emperor award.”

    “Huh?” Pei Huaixue was stunned.

Is winning a Film Emperor award that easy?

He came to his senses, seeing Gu Minghe still praising him profusely. He realized he had asked the wrong person; his Husband’s bias was clearly even greater than the fans’.

After everyone else had left, the two of them quietly slipped out of the theater.

However, at that moment, the cleaning lady sweeping behind them suddenly pointed at them and shouted, “Are you Gu Minghe and Pei Huaixue?!”

As soon as the sound rang out, people exiting other theaters nearby all turned to look at the pair.

Gu Minghe cursed under his breath, grabbed Pei Huaixue’s hand, and hurried away.

But it was too late; everyone recognized them!

“Oh my god, it really is Gu Minghe and Pei Huaixue! They came to watch the movie too??”

“Ahhh! Hurry and chase them, don’t let them get away!”

The excited fans who had just finished watching the movie quickly pursued them. Gu Minghe had no choice but to run faster, pulling Pei Huaixue along. Seeing that Pei Huaixue was about to run out of steam, he scooped him up onto his shoulder and continued sprinting.

Gu Minghe’s stamina was astonishing. He managed to outrun the group of fans, carried his Husband back to the car, stepped on the gas, and sped away from the cinema.

Pei Huaixue clutched his rapidly beating heart, panting. “That was close. We were almost surrounded.”

Then, looking at Gu Minghe, he couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

Gu Minghe was infected by his laughter, and a smile tugged at the corner of his lips. The two exchanged a look, and the car slowly merged into the busy, crowded traffic, heading toward the direction of the myriad twinkling lights of home.

    “Husband, we’re going home.”

    “Yes, home.”
