The Delicate Cannon Fodder Is Coveted By Her Ex-Husband In The Love Show Chapter 50
byChapter 50: The Dream Man Becomes a Shipper
Chapter Fifty
After celebrating his mother’s birthday, the couple drove back to the villa before dinner.
Pei Huaixue hadn’t fully recovered from his illness, so they didn’t join everyone downstairs for the meal. They ordered takeout and ate it in their room.
When it was time to sleep, Pei Huaixue snuggled into Gu Minghe’s arms, his hands wandering downwards. His eyes were glistening with moisture as he looked at his Husband expectantly: “Shall we do it?”
“No,” Gu Minghe refused coldly, moving his hands away.
Pei Huaixue turned his back in displeasure. “Is this how you pursue me? I’m not talking to you anymore.”
Since the mission was completed, he and Gu Minghe had been intimate every night. This was the first time he had been rejected, and Pei Huaixue felt very frustrated.
Gu Minghe didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. He turned Pei Huaixue’s body back around and rubbed his cheeks with both hands. “Once you’re better, you can do whatever you want.”
Pei Huaixue reluctantly agreed, then told Gu Minghe to go back to his own bed to sleep.
It was too agonizing to look but not touch; he’d rather sleep alone.
Gu Minghe sighed and got up. Not being able to hold his sweet, soft wife while sleeping was torture for him too.
In the middle of the night, Pei Huaixue tossed and turned in bed, unable to fall asleep.
Looking at Gu Minghe, who seemed to be sleeping soundly on the other bed, he pouted. “Big bad guy, he can sleep so well even without me.”
He silently complained for a while, and the unsatisfied feeling in his body grew increasingly unbearable. Pei Huaixue’s face flushed, and a hazy mist filled his eyes.
He couldn’t help but recall that fanfiction, so he simply opened his phone, logged into his Weibo burner account, searched for his and Gu Minghe’s CP super topic, and started reading fanfiction.
In the dead of night, he specifically sought out highly explicit stories, becoming more engrossed the more he read.
“So it can be done like this… I’ve learned something new…” Pei Huaixue seriously studied the high-difficulty poses described in the stories, wondering if he could manage them. “Not this one, I’ll twist my waist. Not this one either, how could I possibly fit that much inside…”
He secretly reached back, imagining the scene, and his face turned bright red.
In the darkness, the light from the phone screen illuminated his beautiful little face, clearly showing his shyness.
“Baby, what are you looking at? Why aren’t you sleeping yet?” Gu Minghe sat up. He frowned when he saw Pei Huaixue secretly playing on his phone instead of sleeping in the middle of the night. “Don’t play on your phone with the lights off, it’s bad for your eyes.”
Saying this, he simply turned on the light.
The sudden sound startled Pei Huaixue. The phone dropped with a thud, hitting him right below his high nose bridge. He let out a yelp, and tears instantly streamed down his face.
“Are you okay?” Gu Minghe quickly got out of bed, picked up the phone, and gently rubbed Pei Huaixue’s nose. “Does it still hurt?”
“It hurts so much!” Pei Huaixue was on the verge of tears. “Why did you suddenly scare me?”
“I apologize,” Gu Minghe said, then his tone became serious. “I should be asking you that. You’re sick, why aren’t you sleeping early? What are you looking at on your phone?”
“I, I… I couldn’t sleep, so I was just looking around.” Pei Huaixue looked guilty. Seeing that his phone was still clutched in Gu Minghe’s hand, he tried to take it back, but Gu Minghe confiscated it.
“No more playing. Go to sleep properly.” Gu Minghe took the phone and was about to turn it off when he saw the screen was paused on a certain explicit fanfiction.
“…”
Pei Huaixue covered his face in embarrassment. “It’s your fault for not giving it to me. I had to read these to pass the time.”
Gu Minghe felt helpless. He turned off the phone and put it aside. He lifted a corner of the blanket, squeezed into the bed, pulled Pei Huaixue into his arms, and kissed his wife’s forehead. “Only once.”
“Okay.”
Satisfied, Pei Huaixue finally slept soundly. But he didn’t realize that when Gu Minghe caught him, he had accidentally used his Weibo burner account, Minghe Flips Xue, to give a big like to the fanfiction he was reading.
After he fell asleep, people in the Gu Minghe solo fan super topic screenshotted his like and captioned it: What’s going on? Is this famous dream man fan no longer a dream man and becoming a shipper?
Gu Minghe’s solo fans were also confused.
They had previously tagged Minghe Flips Xue and mocked him, wanting to see his opinion on the Gu-Pei CP and watch him break down. Yet, this person not only didn’t break down but was happily reading fanfiction in the CP super topic?
This was the same person who, when Gu Minghe accidentally wore the same outfit as another male celebrity on the red carpet, causing a national shipping frenzy, got so angry that he posted over a dozen Weibo updates stating that Gu Minghe would never like that male celebrity, only him. And now he wasn’t jealous anymore?
The solo fans were somewhat incredulous.
“We were hoping Minghe Flips Xue would stand up for us and scold the shippers, but we didn’t expect this guy to defect first. Damn it!”
“Is it possible that he’s treating Pei Huaixue as a persona, and he’s projecting himself onto Pei Huaixue and shipping himself?”
“That’s possible. Anyway, I don’t believe he would turn into a shipper. Absolutely impossible!”
Everyone tagged Minghe Flips Xue, urging him to come out and say something.
It wasn’t until the next day, after Pei Huaixue woke up, that he remembered the fanfiction he hadn’t finished the night before. Still wanting more, he opened Weibo on his phone to finish the story, only to see that he was being tagged frantically.
He had seen many tags last night too, but just one night later, there were many more. Pei Huaixue originally didn’t want to bother with them; they were probably just mocking his wishful thinking and constant fantasy that Gu Minghe was his Husband.
However, there were too many messages, with notifications popping up every few moments. He thought about it and decided to click on the red dots for the notifications.
He then saw everyone asking for his opinion on the Gu-Pei CP, asking why he was crazy enough to like Gu-Pei fanfiction, and suggesting that he was projecting himself onto the situation.
Pei Huaixue blinked. Only then did he realize he had accidentally liked that fanfiction the night before.
He decided to go all the way and simply reposted the fanfiction: “Amazing! The author is so talented, can we have more? Gu Minghe and Pei Huaixue are truly a perfect match, I wish them well! By the way, I want to read some luxury car play. Can any authors feed me?”
The solo fans were furious when they saw this Weibo post.
“Brother Xue, how could you betray us!!”
“You promised to be Gu Minghe’s dream man for life, how did you secretly become a shipper?!”
“The solo fan army has lost another general. Shippers are truly the way to go.”
“Don’t think you are Pei Huaixue just because your name has the character ‘Xue’ in it! Wake up!”
Minghe Flips Xue replied: “Oh, I’m very awake. Pei Huaixue is so great, pretty and cute, and Gu Minghe loves him so much. It’s such a good ship, I’m obsessed.”
Then, ignoring the solo fans’ distress, he closed Weibo.
Pei Huaixue, having done a bad deed, covered his mouth and chuckled. It served them right for always criticizing him; he was going to annoy them.
“Baby, what are you laughing about?” Gu Minghe woke up and instinctively reached out to touch Pei Huaixue’s forehead. He breathed a sigh of relief when he felt the fever had subsided. “Did you do something naughty?”
Pei Huaixue certainly wouldn’t admit he went and teased his fans. He just smiled brightly and said, “No, I just read a joke and thought it was funny.”
Gu Minghe rubbed his head, messing up his already disheveled hair even more. “Little liar.”
After getting up, Gu Minghe took out the thermometer and checked Pei Huaixue’s temperature again. The fever had finally broken overnight.
Pei Huaixue said proudly, “See? Even when you’re sick, doing it won’t cause any problems.”
Gu Minghe held him on his lap and lightly patted his backside. “I’ll let it slide this time. Don’t let it happen again.”
The two of them lingered in bed for a while before heading down to start the day’s live broadcast.
Let’s Fall in Love! was already in its third week of filming, with only one week left before the show ended. The CPs Gu Minghe and Pei Huaixue, and Gu Yanchen and Su Jin, were already confirmed.
However, there were some ripples between Shen Zhimian and Jiang Leran.
Because of the unpleasant experience at the Future Experience Hall last time, Shen Zhimian had been somewhat cold towards Jiang Leran afterward. Xia Mu, who hadn’t been chosen by anyone, refused to give up and seized the opportunity to intervene between the two, launching an offensive against Jiang Leran.
Jiang Leran, in turn, began to waver between the two people, and his CP status became unclear. No one knew who he would ultimately choose until the final day.
Because of this, Jiang Leran and Xia Mu were heavily criticized.
Just then, another rumor surfaced online.
It claimed that a certain Minor Influencer on the Douyin platform was secretly being kept by a Big Shot. This Big Shot was married, and the influencer’s involvement was causing chaos in the Big Shot’s family. It was also said that the Big Shot was constantly giving large rewards in the influencer’s live stream to promote them.
For a time, everyone speculated about which influencer this was.
Every somewhat famous influencer on the Douyin platform was guessed, including Xia Mu and Pei Huaixue.
A few days later, the person who broke the news added that the influencer was from Xingyue Agency.
Consequently, several influencers from Xingyue Agency were dragged out and scrutinized.
Especially Pei Huaixue, because his popularity was currently high, these baseless, speculative rumors were often directed at him.
“It must be Pei Huaixue. His relationship with his top gifter Big Brother is definitely complicated.”
“That Big Brother gives tens of millions in rewards every time. Someone that rich must be a married middle-aged man.”
“Who knows what kind of improper transactions they have privately? Otherwise, who would just spend that much money on online rewards?”
“Is that ‘Princess Xuexue’s ATM’? He seems to only appear in Pei Huaixue’s live stream, and there’s no information about him online. I’m really curious about who he is.”
“If he were good-looking, he would have started live streaming or posting videos himself. Rich people love to show off. Since he doesn’t dare to come out, he must be an ugly guy!”
“I agree. He must be a pot-bellied, middle-aged tycoon.”
The speculation shifted, focusing on Pei Huaixue’s top gifter Big Brother.
The more they talked, the more plausible the theory seemed.
“But isn’t Pei Huaixue promoting a CP with Gu Minghe? They’re heating up in the dating show. Does Gu Minghe know about his relationship with the top gifter Big Brother?”
“He definitely doesn’t know. If he did, who would continue dating?”
“Isn’t that deceiving Film Emperor Gu! Who’s going to tell him the truth?”
For a time, online public opinion was chaotic. Some extreme individuals even rushed into the dating show’s live stream chat, spamming messages and making the chat environment toxic.
