The Beauty Is Seducing Me Again Chapter 12
byChapter 12 012 Incident
Chen Xiaonuan carried her shopping bag, walking with light steps into the familiar alley.
The surroundings were somewhat dim, but Chen Xiaonuan was long used to it. The rent here was very cheap, and she even found the place comforting, as it wasn’t far from where she attended school and worked her part-time jobs.
Chen Xiaonuan was still recalling her experience playing games with Miss Shen, and the corners of her mouth couldn’t help but curve upwards slightly.
The deeper she went into the alley, the quieter and darker the light became.
From the shadows of a narrower side path, piled high with discarded junk, three staggering men emerged. They didn’t look old, were dressed sloppily, reeked of alcohol, and their eyes were slow, murky, and frivolous—they had clearly drunk a lot.
Chen Xiaonuan’s heart tightened. Instinctively, she lowered her head and quickened her pace, trying to walk around them.
“Oh, look at the little sister here. You’re a real beauty,” one of the yellow-haired youths said with a smirk, blocking Chen Xiaonuan’s path, his gaze sweeping greedily over her face and body.
“Yeah, never seen you before. Did you just move in?” another short, stout man leaned in, reeking of booze, reaching out to touch Chen Xiaonuan’s face. “Dressed so provocatively, you must be out here specifically to tempt men.”
“What… what do you want? Get out of the way!”
Chen Xiaonuan’s face was pale with fright, her heart hammering. She clutched the bag in her hands tightly, her voice trembling with fear.
She tried to rush out the other way, but the third, tall, thin man blocked her retreat.
The yellow-haired man sneered and knocked the shopping bag out of her hand. “Oh, feisty, are we? We just want to have some fun with you, what are you afraid of?”
“Get lost! Help! Is anyone there, help me!” Chen Xiaonuan screamed in terror, calling out loudly, desperately trying to struggle and push them away.
“Damn it, you won’t take the easy way, you’ll take the hard way.”
The short, stout man was enraged by Chen Xiaonuan’s resistance. He suddenly raised his hand and slapped Chen Xiaonuan hard across the face.
Chen Xiaonuan’s ears rang violently from the blow. Her cheek instantly swelled up, burning with pain, and her vision momentarily went black.
Immense fear instantly overwhelmed her, and tears streamed out uncontrollably.
“You bitch, shut the hell up!”
The yellow-haired man viciously covered her mouth, while his other hand roughly grabbed her arm. Together with the tall, thin man, they desperately dragged Chen Xiaonuan toward the dark, trash-filled dead end alley nearby.
“Mmm… mmm…” Chen Xiaonuan struggled desperately, tears blurring her vision, broken sobs escaping her throat.
The massive difference in strength made it impossible for Chen Xiaonuan to resist. Deep despair coiled around her heart like a venomous snake.
Chen Xiaonuan had never felt so suffocated and terrified.
Just at this critical moment, a sharp, furious female voice rang out from the alley entrance.
“Stop! What are you doing! Let her go!”
The three thugs, who were about to commit the assault, were startled. They froze and turned their heads to look.
Standing at the alley entrance was a middle-aged woman with an elegant demeanor. Her face was deathly pale, her eyes burning with fierce rage. She was pointing at them, her body faintly trembling from anger and residual fear.
This person was none other than Yuan Yanyu, who had returned.
Behind her were two bodyguards and the driver. Before Yuan Yanyu could give the order, they rushed forward at extreme speed.
“Shit, mind your own business!” the yellow-haired man cursed, still trying to drag Chen Xiaonuan into the shadows.
The bodyguard was faster, moving like a swift leopard. He covered the distance in a few strides and slammed his elbow hard into the yellow-haired man’s side.
The yellow-haired man screamed and instantly released Chen Xiaonuan.
Almost simultaneously, the driver delivered a heavy punch to the short, stout man’s stomach. The latter fell to the ground, curled up like a shrimp, dry heaving repeatedly. The remaining tall, thin man saw the situation was bad and tried to run, but the other bodyguard cleanly took him down with a sweeping kick and pinned him firmly to the ground.
The entire process took no more than a minute or two. The thugs, who had been so arrogant moments before, were instantly subdued, groaning in pain, their bravado completely gone.
Yuan Yanyu ignored everything else and stumbled toward Chen Xiaonuan, who was slumped on the ground.
Chen Xiaonuan was crying so hard she was nearly hyperventilating, her entire body shaking.
“Xiaonuan, Xiaonuan, it’s alright now. Auntie is here, Auntie is here.” Yuan Yanyu pulled the trembling Chen Xiaonuan into her embrace, stroking her back repeatedly. Seeing Chen Xiaonuan shaking all over, her heart ached unbearably. “Don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid. The bad guys have been caught. It’s over now.”
At that moment, Chen Xiaonuan clung desperately to Yuan Yanyu’s clothes as if grasping a lifeline, burying her face in Yuan Yanyu’s chest and bursting into loud sobs.
All the fear, grievance, and residual terror erupted completely at this moment.
Chen Xiaonuan was sobbing uncontrollably, her body trembling.
“Wuwuwu… Auntie, I was so scared… it was so close, wuwuwu…”
“Don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid, good child. We are safe now.” Yuan Yanyu couldn’t help but shed tears too, holding her tightly, as if embracing a lost treasure she had just recovered.
Yuan Yanyu dared not imagine the terrible consequences if she had arrived even a moment later, or if she hadn’t turned back due to her sudden unease.
Just thinking about that possibility made Yuan Yanyu’s hands and feet turn cold.
The driver finished handling the scene and walked over to report in a low voice: “Madam, the police have been called, and they will arrive shortly.”
He looked at the little girl sobbing heartbrokenly in Madam’s arms, his eyes filled with fury.
Three beasts!
If his own beloved daughter had encountered something like this, he would want to kill these men.
Yuan Yanyu nodded, her gaze sweeping over the three thugs on the ground, her coldness undiminished. “Keep an eye on them until the police arrive.”
“Xiao Deng, bring me my phone. I need to contact Director Zheng.”
“Yes, Madam.”
*
Shen Group, top floor conference room.
Shen Qing’an was presiding over an important international video conference, reporting on the progress of the European branch’s latest acquisition. Her expression was stern, and her fingers tapped unconsciously on the table as she raised sharp, incisive questions.
Knock, knock, knock.
The conference room door was lightly knocked.
Shen Qing’an frowned deeply. Zhou Ming knew she was in a meeting and would never interrupt unless the matter was extremely urgent and important.
She made a pause gesture to the video conference participants and said, “Enter.”
Zhou Ming walked in with a solemn expression, leaned in to whisper a few words to Shen Qing’an, and handed her a phone that was already connected to a call.
Shen Qing’an took the phone, stood up, and walked to the window.
“Uncle Zheng,” Shen Qing’an greeted.
Director Zheng was a close friend of her father and a leader in the Municipal Public Security Bureau. He rarely called her work phone directly.
Director Zheng’s calm and serious voice came from the other end. He said, “Qing’an, I hope I haven’t interrupted your work?”
“I have something I need to tell you. Your mother and Miss Chen are at the Chengxi Police Station, giving statements. If you can spare the time now, you should come pick them up.”
Shen Qing’an’s heart plummeted. Her voice was tight: “What happened to them? What’s wrong?”
Why would her mother and Chen Xiaonuan be at a police station together?
“Don’t worry, they are fine. No one was injured, though Miss Chen was severely frightened,” Director Zheng quickly reassured her. He then briefly summarized what had happened. “That’s the general situation. Fortunately, your mother turned back and discovered it in time, and she had the driver and bodyguards with her. Those thugs didn’t manage to physically harm Miss Chen.”
“The charges will be handled as attempted rape. Your mother and Miss Chen are a bit calmer now and are giving their statements. I called to let you know.”
Shen Qing’an gripped the phone so hard her knuckles turned white. A coldness surfaced in her eyes.
Alley, thugs, attempted rape, slap… these words pierced Shen Qing’an’s mind like sharp needles, instantly lowering the pressure around her to a terrifying degree. Even Zhou Ming, standing a few steps away, felt the surge of fury.
“Please trouble Uncle Zheng to look after them for me. I’ll be there immediately.”
Shen Qing’an hung up the phone. Instead of returning to the conference table, she told Zhou Ming: “Notify them the meeting is paused; you will follow up on the rest. Contact the driver to prepare the car and take me to the Chengxi Police Station.”
“Yes, CEO Shen,” Zhou Ming replied without hesitation, immediately moving to execute the order.
The black sedan sped toward the destination.
In the back seat, Shen Qing’an’s face was grim. She watched the streetscape rapidly receding outside the window, dark ink swirling in the depths of her eyes.
Shen Qing’an thought of Chen Xiaonuan’s clear, smiling eyes, remembered how satisfied she was just holding her old phone, and recalled her joyful figure in front of the game screen last night… An unprecedented mix of protectiveness and intense rage intertwined in Shen Qing’an’s heart, threatening to burst forth.
Chen Xiaonuan had almost been harmed right under her nose.
The car quickly arrived at the police station.
Shen Qing’an didn’t wait for the driver to open the door; she pushed it open herself and stepped out first, walking extremely fast in her high heels.
Inside the police station, Director Zheng was speaking quietly with a man who looked like the precinct chief. Seeing Shen Qing’an walk in, he headed toward her.
“Qing’an.”
Shen Qing’an replied, “Uncle Zheng.”
Her gaze quickly swept across the lobby, finally landing on the two figures sitting on a bench in the corner.
Yuan Yanyu was holding Chen Xiaonuan, softly comforting her.
Chen Xiaonuan was completely curled up in Yuan Yanyu’s arms, her body still trembling slightly, occasionally letting out a sob. Her eyes were swollen like peaches, and a clear, shocking red imprint of five fingers was visible on her left cheek.
Shen Qing’an’s heart felt like it had been violently squeezed by a large hand, and her breathing hitched for a moment.
She quickly walked over.
“Qing’an, why did you come?” Yuan Yanyu looked up, surprised to see Shen Qing’an, but then sighed in relief. “Uncle Zheng told you, right? It’s fine now, don’t worry.”
Hearing Shen Qing’an’s name, Chen Xiaonuan timidly lifted her head from Yuan Yanyu’s embrace, looking at her with tear-filled eyes.
She was completely drenched in tears, looking utterly pitiful.
The rage in Shen Qing’an’s chest burned hotter, but having nowhere to vent it, she forced herself to look away, turning to Director Zheng, her voice remarkably calm.
“Uncle Zheng, what exactly is the situation?”
