Chapter Index

How about crossing the gods and reporting peace to your family?

The air-conditioning in the stadium was fully turned on. Song Li’s fingertips fell on the keyboard, but there was no chill at all. The rhythm of pressing the keys was very steady. The call of his teammates in the earphones was clear. He pursed his lips and picked up two heads in a row with his fingertips. The cheers from the audience floated in through the soundproof glass, as light as a gust of wind.

During the halftime break, he took off his headphones and rubbed his ears. The coach handed him a bottle of warm water and patted his shoulder: “You’re in good shape, keep it up.” Song Li nodded, raised his head and took two sips. His phone vibrated. It was a message from Ling Qingye, just two words: [Come on.】

He stared at the screen for two seconds, then tapped “Hmm” with his finger. When he put it back in his pocket, the corners of his mouth curled up a little unconsciously. He was caught by his teammates who were approaching him: “Dushen, are you telling your family that you are safe?”

“Get lost.” Song Li raised his hand and pushed his teammate’s head. The tips of his ears were red, but he was not really angry. “Hurry up and get ready, don’t talk nonsense.”

The second half started with a stalemate, and the opponent changed their tactics, leaving them breathless in the first half. Song Li’s knuckles turned white while holding the mouse, and he suddenly caught the opponent’s flaw. He circled around and cut into the back row. With one smooth operation, he directly destroyed the opponent.

The moment the referee blew the whistle, the cheers in the training room almost reached the ceiling. His teammates rushed over and slapped him on the back, so hard that he almost fell apart.

When the winning trophy was handed to his hand, the coolness of the metal came through his palms. Song Li held the trophy and looked at the camera. He didn’t smile, but his eyebrows were relaxed, much softer than usual. The first thing he did after he stepped off the stage was to take out his cell phone, send a photo of Ling Qingye holding the trophy, and type: [Win.】

As soon as the news was sent out, a call came through. Ling Qingye’s voice was filled with laughter, and he was even more excited than he was: “I watched the live broadcast, and the wave behind him at the end was so cool.”

“That’s right.” Song Li rarely said anything harsh. He looked up at the sky outside the stadium, and the sunset dyed half of the sky. “It’s not shameful.”

“When will you come back?” Ling Qingye’s voice softened, “The strawberries are still in the refrigerator for you.”

“The flight ticket for the day after tomorrow will arrive in the morning.” Song Li leaned against the wall, listening to the movement on the other end of the phone, and there was the faint sound of turning a book, “Are you still busy?”

“Waiting for your news, I don’t want to be busy.” Ling Qingye smiled, “I will pick you up at the airport when you get back. What do you want to eat? I’ll make it for you.”

“Whatever.” Song Li paused and added, “I want some porridge.”

After hanging up the phone, his teammates came over and hooked his neck: “Yeshen, come back to China and have a good meal? Celebrate winning the championship!”

“No, I have something to do.” Song Li pushed his hand away and handed the trophy to the coach. “I’ll go back to the dormitory to pack my things first. You go.”

His teammates booed and said that he valued sex over friends, but Song Li ignored them. His steps were a little faster than usual, and he felt a little indescribable excitement in his heart, like a piece of candy that melted slowly.

On the day of returning home, there were many people at the airport. Song Li carried his suitcase and just walked out of the arrival gate when he saw Ling Qingye standing in the crowd, wearing a black windbreaker, with a tall and tall figure that could be seen at a glance.

He was stunned for a moment, and his pace unconsciously accelerated. When he walked forward, Ling Qingye reached out to take his suitcase, put his other hand around his shoulder, and took it into his arms: “I’m back.”

The smell of cedar came over with a familiar warmth. Song Li leaned into his arms for half a second, then quickly broke away and said harshly: “Don’t hug me, there are too many people.”

Ling Qingye smiled and pinched his face: “What are you afraid of? My partner has won the championship. Why don’t you give me a hug?”

“Who is your partner?” Song Li was furious, but she didn’t really push his hand away, letting him lead her to the parking lot, her fingertips touching each other, feeling very warm.

There was warm milk in the car. Ling Qingye opened it and handed it to him: “Drink it on the way. It’s just hot.” Song Li took it and took a few sips. He caught a glimpse of a gift box on the passenger side and raised his eyebrows: “What is it?”

“A reward for you.” Ling Qingye curled his lips, “I’ll see you when you get home.”

After returning home, Song Li discovered that there was a new keyboard in the gift box. The keycaps were the gradient color he liked, and the feel of pressing them was better than the previous one.He held the keyboard and stared at it for a long time, then raised his head and glared at Ling Qingye: “Spending money indiscriminately again.”

“You should be rewarded for winning the championship.” Ling Qingye came over, hugged his waist from behind, and rested his chin on his shoulder, “My kid is amazing and deserves the best.”

“Who is the kid?” Song Li struggled, but did not pull away, letting him hold her, his fingertips touching the keycaps of the new keyboard, feeling soft in his heart, “Where’s the porridge? I’m hungry.”

“Let it warm in the pot.” Ling Qingye let go of him with a smile and walked to the kitchen. “It’s been cooked a long time ago. I’m just waiting for you to come back.”

Song Li followed him and leaned against the kitchen door, looking at Ling Qingye’s back as he filled the porridge. The setting sun fell on him through the window, making him unbelievably warm.

The porridge was served in a white porcelain bowl, sprinkled with green onion, and still had a familiar taste. Song Li took a sip, and the glutinous taste spread in her mouth. Her stomach felt warm, and her heart felt full.

Ling Qingye sat opposite, not eating much, just looking at him, unable to hide the smile in his eyes.Song Li felt uncomfortable and looked up at him: “What are you looking at? Drinking porridge.”

“Look at my champion.” Ling Qingye reached out and wiped away the porridge particles stuck to the corner of his mouth. When his fingertips were warm and brushed against the corner of his lips, Song Li’s heart skipped a beat.

At night, Song Li sat on the sofa holding the trophy, and Ling Qingye leaned next to him. The two watched the replay of the game together. When he saw the highlights, Ling Qingye squeezed his hand. Song Li said he was annoyed, but he didn’t avoid it.Seeing the final award scene, Song Li pursed his lips and said nothing, but Ling Qingye suddenly came over and kissed the corner of his lips: “Song Li, that’s great.”

Song Li’s face instantly turned red, and she raised her hand to push him: “Why did you kiss me so suddenly!”

“Reward.” Ling Qing smiled wildly, then leaned over and kissed his forehead, “A reward for my champion.”
