Chapter 84: Abilities Revive Sooner Than the Soul, Let’s Relive What Belongs to Us…
This sleep was much deeper than imagined.
Ji Mo An thought he would dream of something, but in retrospect, it was all endless darkness.
It was as if he had been anesthetized; time just passed between opening and closing his eyes.
The only difference from before falling asleep was that the black snake, originally the size of chopsticks, had now completely returned to human form, and even half of his body was pressing down on him.
“Get off me.” Ji Mo An couldn’t pull out his arm, which was pinned under Xuan Bai’s body, so he could only use his other hand to push the snake’s head.
“Snuggle~” The snake opened his eyes, seemingly just waking up, his golden pupils as viscous as honey.
Ji Mo An’s first reaction was to wonder if there were any surveillance cameras.
“There are no surveillance cameras.” Xuan Bai seemed to know what he was thinking and rubbed even more clingingly into his arms.
“Kisses~” The snake coaxed.
“What time is it? Still wanting kisses.” Ji Mo An said this, but still leaned down and kissed Xuan Bai’s forehead.
The snake, who was pouting, waiting for a kiss:?
Only a forehead kiss, is this reasonable? The snake didn’t think it was reasonable.
“I feel strange.” Ji Mo An slapped the snake, who was starting to fuss, onto the bed. His arm was so numb it felt like it was wrapped in peppercorns.
All thanks to a certain snake pressing on it.
“What feels strange?” The snake rolled off the bed unhappily, his gold ornaments jingling.
“My fingers, a little numb, a little itchy.” Ji Mo An frowned and rubbed his fingers, his intuition telling him that this wasn’t just the feeling of poor blood circulation.
It was more like a bizarre feeling spreading from the depths of his soul.
Vaguely, a voice seemed to tell him to feel something, then transmit something, and finally condense something… but as for what that ‘something’ was, Ji Mo An couldn’t hear it clearly no matter how hard he tried. He could only tentatively clench his fingers tightly.
“Kisses from the snake, and it won’t be numb anymore.” Xuan Bai was still brooding over only getting a forehead kiss.
Ji Mo An was still staring at his hand in contemplation.
“Then the snake can kiss Ji Mo An too~” The snake happily pounced onto the bed.
It seemed like there was a bit of feeling. Ji Mo An felt as if a stream of light suddenly pierced through his mind. He subconsciously followed that force and swung his hand.
*Clang!*
The snake, halfway through his pounce, knelt directly on the floor, and even the lamp on the bedside table teetered and fell to the ground.
“Just… wanted a kiss… the snake doesn’t deserve this.” The snake knelt on the ground with a dazed expression, gradually becoming teary-eyed.
Snake, unable to move. This feeling was so familiar, it was the prelude to being pinned to the ground and beaten!
“You, how…” Ji Mo An was even more dazed than Xuan Bai. From his perspective, it looked like he just swung his hand, and the snake respectfully gave a big bow and knelt perfectly upright.
“Let me go!” Xuan Bai revealed sharp fangs and began to fight against the power pressing down on him.
His entire arm was swollen and accompanied by intense stinging.
“Let you go from what?” Ji Mo An finally realized that the snake didn’t seem to be kneeling willingly, but there were no obstacles on his body.
So hot… The swelling pain in his hand suddenly turned into a burning sensation. Ji Mo An gasped in pain and pressed his entire palm onto the bed.
There was only a loud bang, and when he came back to his senses, Ji Mo An was sitting in the ruins of the big bed, staring wide-eyed at the snake.
“…” The snake silently stopped struggling, afraid that he would also end up like the bed, crushed flat.
“Hey, what’s going on? Is there an earthquake?” The witch Miss pushed the door open and poked half of her body in, holding a cat.
“Sorry to disturb.” She looked at the one person and one snake sitting on the ground facing each other and silently raised her hand to cover the cat’s eyes.
“Playing pretty wild.” Nan Sheng also poked her head in.
“No, I didn’t. I don’t know…” Ji Mo An supported himself on the bedside table next to him, trying to stand up, but the hard solid wood bedside table became flattened under his hand again.
No way… Ji Mo An froze in place, afraid to move again.
“Looks like the ability recovered a step earlier, what a great time.” Yu Li stuck her head out from the bottom and whistled curiously.
“Ability?” Ji Mo An looked confused. “I have an ability? To flatten things?”
“It’s gravity.” The snake kneeling on the ground said weakly. “Can you let the snake go first.”
“I can’t.” Ji Mo An raised his hands, his mind in a mess.
“Break free yourself.” Yu Li took out a camera from who knows where and took two pictures of the snake.
“Five thousand points to redeem your kneeling photos.”
“Profiteer.” The snake hissed at Yu Li, then continued weakly speaking to Ji Mo An.
“Relax, try to feel the power flowing through your body. Then take it back. Use your consciousness to tell your ability that you don’t need it now.”
“Yes, close your eyes, clear your mind.”
Ji Mo An took a deep breath as instructed by the snake, trying to feel the tingly sensation in his body.
But it didn’t work. His mind was a mess, as if a chatterbox was constantly nagging, making it impossible to concentrate.
“Can you break free?” Ji Mo An thought hard for a while, but still opened his eyes. He glanced at the snake, who was still kneeling on the ground.
“No, you can’t control your power right now. If I forcibly break free, you will suffer a backlash.” The snake slowly shook his head.
“What are you guys doing?” Another figure appeared at the top, the four bosses stacked in the doorway.
“An’s ability recovered before his memory, and Blood Shadow is teaching him.” The witch Miss stroked the cat with interest.
“Oh, what did he say?” Yun Chuan, who was a step late, raised an eyebrow.
“Feel the power and then take it back.” Nan Sheng answered quickly.
“And then?”
“He failed.”
“What kind of nonsense method is this? It’s a miracle if it works.” Yun Chuan was a little speechless.
“Please, we are not players. Controlling abilities is something you are born with, right?” Nan Sheng pulled the silver hair that was stuck to her face and continued to watch the show.
“Can you concentrate?” Yun Chuan asked inside.
“No.” Ji Mo An lowered his eyes, the voice in his head getting louder and louder, even his limbs were a little disobedient.
The fingertips were burning with pain, and the floor next to his feet had already begun to dent.
“Is it a mess in your head? That’s your ability fighting with you for control of your body. Because your ability now thinks it’s stronger than you.” Yun Chuan snapped his fingers, and a golden thread shot out and tied to Ji Mo An’s wrist.
“What’s the next step?” Ji Mo An tried to steady his consciousness. The burning sensation on the hand wrapped in the golden thread was reduced a lot.
“Threaten it.” Yun Chuan snorted, “Tell it, if it doesn’t listen, you’ll kill it. Like when your computer crashes when you’re writing a report, threaten it that if it doesn’t get better, you’ll sell it and count down three, two, one.”
“What a ridiculous method.” Yu Li whispered a quip and then got kicked.
Ji Mo An also thought it was ridiculous, but he still followed the other party’s instructions and began to repeat it fiercely in his heart.
Gradually, the noisy voice actually became a little quieter.
It worked!
Ji Mo An was overjoyed. He closed his eyes and vaguely saw countless intersecting bright silk threads in the chaos.
And among them, a thread was extending outward, tied to something.
It was the power suppressing the snake. Ji Mo An continued to scold the ability in his heart until the ability thread that bound the snake collapsed and shot out.
At the moment when the power suppressing his body disappeared, Xuan Bai propped himself up and grabbed Ji Mo An’s wrist.
Fingers intertwined.
“Clear your mind.” He said softly.
The next second, the snake poured his power into Ji Mo An’s body, and the powerful energy instantly washed away the intertwined energy threads and evenly distributed them throughout the body.
The noisy voice in his mind suddenly disappeared. Ji Mo An moved his arm and found that his body seemed to be a lot lighter.
“Let’s go.” The snake actually picked Ji Mo An up in his arms in the position with intertwined fingers. “We need to restore your memories quickly. Once your memories are restored, your ability won’t dare to cause trouble.”
“It’s just bullying you because you are missing your soul!” The snake ran wildly down the hallway in anger.
“Tailor?” He howled.
“Master, I am here.” The tailor, wearing a vest and with a neat beard, suddenly appeared behind the snake, scaring the scales on the snake’s cheeks to stand up.
“Hello.” Ji Mo An jumped out of the snake’s arms and curiously looked at the boss called Tailor.
“Hello, it is an honor to meet you.” The tailor bent his eyebrows, and a few fine lines wrinkled at the corners of his eyes.
He looked to be about fifty years old, with gray hair mixed with some white hair neatly combed up. His deep eyes seemed to hide countless stories.
Even at his age, his appearance was still outstanding, and even more so than other young bosses, he had a calm and mysterious aura.
“This is a meeting gift prepared for you and Lord Ouroboros.” The tailor bowed slightly and placed two briefcases on the table next to him.
“Then without further ado, please lie on this bed. We will now begin to sew your soul.”
“Thank you.” Ji Mo An lay on the single bed, watching the golden threads fluttering from the tailor’s wrist.
The tailor didn’t seem to talk much. He neatly arranged the strange objects on the table in a row, and then clipped the single-lens glasses to his eye socket.
“Lord Ouroboros…” The tailor put a ball of silvery-white thread into the soft cotton and then bowed slightly to Xuan Bai.
“Here.” The snake held out a bubble. “There are one thousand three hundred and fifty-two souls.”
“…” The tailor’s standard smile visibly stiffened.
“It will take approximately one hour of Earth time. Please be sure to ensure that you are on an empty stomach.”
“No problem.” Ji Mo An nodded.
“Lord Nan Sheng, please…” The tailor took a step back and looked at the approaching merman.
“Darling, close your eyes.” Nan Sheng gently hummed an unknown tune, and it seemed that invisible notes fell all over the room.
But this feeling was different from the last time. Ji Mo An didn’t fall asleep, but felt himself getting lighter and lighter.
“You can open your eyes now.” Nan Sheng stood up and quickly left the room.
Ji Mo An opened his eyes. He was still in the room, but…
Third-person perspective.
He looked at himself lying on the bed in surprise.
“Astral projection, to prevent your soul from being affected by physiological reactions, please wait a moment.”
“No hurry.” Xuan Bai reached out and put Ji Mo An’s soul in his arms and brought him to another bed.
This bed was different from the one he was lying on. It seemed to be a ball of white clouds, soft and light.
Ji Mo An sat on it, as if sinking into a ball of cotton candy.
“I will always be here with you.” The snake knelt on the ground, his arms crossed on the “cotton candy.”
“Look, this one. From the shoulder to the waist, there is a golden seam here. This was sewn by the snake, but the snake’s craftsmanship is not good, and it can only ensure alignment.” Xuan Bai stretched out his hand and rested it on the surface of Ji Mo An’s soul, and his fingers magically probed into it.
“Don’t move, this feeling is so strange.” Ji Mo An wanted to push his hand away, but his arm directly passed through the snake’s body.
“Hehe. Souls don’t have a physical form, you can’t touch me.” The snake smiled mischievously and reached out to touch the shallow white pits on the soul.
“Don’t worry, the tailor’s craftsmanship is very good, he will sew it beautifully.”
“Your praise is the glory of my life.” The tailor walked over, silvery-white stitching threads wrapped around his fingers, shaking slightly.
Those hands were as beautiful as a work of art.
As his fingers swayed in the air, the silver thread first flew into the bubble containing the souls. After a burst of dancing, it brushed into the gap in Ji Mo An’s soul.
It really didn’t hurt, and even felt a bit cool.
Ji Mo An curiously watched the silver thread constantly shuttle between his soul and the bubble. Each time it flew, the silver gap would decrease by one.
“I don’t seem to remember anything.” The number of shallow pits being stitched up was increasing, but Ji Mo An didn’t feel anything different.
“Those are vast memories, you need to savor them slowly.” The tailor explained gently to him, “After the complete stitching, Lord Nan Sheng will put you to sleep again.”
“When you wake up again, we can relive our past together.” Xuan Bai took over the tailor’s words and rubbed his nose affectionately against the light-colored soul.
