Chapter 29: The Greedy and Vicious Nanny 7

Assistant Chen walked out from the crowd, his tall figure blocking most of the obscure gazes.

“Send him back to the villa first,” the man said, taking off his jacket and draping it over Xie Rong’s shoulders.

Xie Rong was persistent. He glanced at the golden button on the cuff of the suit jacket and secretly tugged it off.

He walked behind Assistant Chen, and the guests watching the spectacle silently cleared a path.

But Xie Rong was not in a good mood.

Such a perfect opportunity to disgust the protagonist was ruined by a blunder.

So, as he brushed past Lu Chengjin, Xie Rong’s slender high heel viciously stomped down on Lu Chengjin’s foot.

The banquet continued, seemingly peaceful on the surface, but the affair between the Lu family patriarch and the beautiful young male servant had already become their private gossip.

Some felt pity, others sighed with regret.

Xie Rong was completely unaware, slowly following Assistant Chen out of the Lu family old residence and stopping in front of a sleek, black sedan.

He didn’t recognize the car emblem, only knowing that the leather seat beneath his thighs was thousands of times more comfortable than a bus.

“Is this your car?” he asked Assistant Chen.

“Mr. Lu’s car,” Assistant Chen replied.

Xie Rong’s eyes started to dart around again.

“Assistant Chen, am I pretty?” He leaned in slightly, his breath, scented with fragrance, fanning the man’s ear.

Assistant Chen paused, his hands on the steering wheel silently tightening. “You are.”

More than just pretty, the biggest mistake at the Lu residence banquet today was letting Xie Rong wear that maid outfit while pouring wine in the hall. Clean, unclean, and semi-unclean gazes all fell upon him.

He estimated that for the next few months, there would be no shortage of people coming to the villa to investigate.

“Then do you think Mr. Lu will like me?” Xie Rong lightly stroked the texture of the suit jacket, asking casually.

Assistant Chen’s eyes darkened slightly, and he said meaningfully, “That depends on whether Mr. Xie likes this car… or the owner of this car.”

    Xie Rong squinted at him.

What was there to like about a thirty-year-old man?

According to Lu Yi, he wasn’t gay.

But this car, which clearly looked like it could sell for a lot of money, he liked very much.

The car stopped smoothly in front of the detached villa.

Assistant Chen got out first and walked to the other side to open the door for Xie Rong.

He glanced at Xie Rong’s feet in the high heels. “Do you need me to escort you upstairs?”

Xie Rong waved his hand, impatiently kicking off the torturous high heels and walking barefoot into the villa.

Assistant Chen looked at the high heels on the ground, one tilted, one upright, their glossy surface reflecting the cold moonlight.

He squatted down, picked up the shoes with two fingers, and returned to the car.

“Mr. Lu, the person has been delivered,” Assistant Chen pulled out his phone. There were no lights on in the car, and the words “one hour call duration” on the screen were particularly glaring.

“No wonder you spoke up for him everywhere,” the man’s voice on the other end was low, carrying a hint of a casual drawl. “He is indeed very pretty.”

Looking at the display showing the call had ended, Assistant Chen remained silent and drove away from the villa.

At twelve forty-five in the morning, Lu Chengjin returned to the villa.

His current room was in the furthest corner of the second floor, but as soon as he pushed the door open, not only was the bedside lamp on, but the little nanny who had hooked up with his older brother and caused a scandalous rumor at his birthday party was lying safely on his bed, his head nodding down drowsily.

Lu Chengjin walked over with a cold face and yanked the blanket off him.

Unexpectedly, Xie Rong took the opportunity to climb onto him, wrapping two pale arms around his neck. He was still wearing the torn maid miniskirt, and hadn’t even taken off his stockings.

“You brothers look so alike, you made me accuse the wrong person,” Xie Rong was too sleepy to open his eyes, clinging vaguely to Lu Chengjin. Resting his head on the other man’s shoulder, he thought he was dreaming and said triumphantly, “But it doesn’t matter, he’s richer than you.”

“You must know your brother well, right? Tell me what he likes. Later, when I’ve swindled enough money from him, I’ll return the necklace to you.”

His little nanny, whose eyes were fixed on money, was already dreaming of becoming Mrs. Lu.

Lu Chengjin walked back to his original room, pulled the person off him, and tossed him back onto the bed.

The bed was soft. As soon as Xie Rong fell into it, he curled up and fell asleep.

When he woke up the next day, Xie Rong hadn’t forgotten what he’d told Lu Chengjin yesterday, and excitedly called him over.

He was wearing a bathrobe, sitting barefoot in front of the wardrobe, choosing clothes.

“What color does your brother like?”

Lu Chengjin glanced at the faint crimson showing beneath his bathrobe and wrote two words on a piece of paper: Red.

Unexpectedly, the little nanny, who had never been taught what shame was, lifted the hem of his bathrobe to reveal a tiny bit of bright fabric, tilting his head with pure eyes to ask him, “Like this?”

    “…”

    Lu Chengjin looked away.

Receiving no response, Xie Rong irritably grabbed a watch from the jewelry box and smashed it against Lu Chengjin’s forehead. “Are you deaf? Didn’t you hear me talking?”

Lu Chengjin could already anticipate the little nanny’s next words.

Either he would curse him, saying that a deaf and mute man like him wouldn’t find any nanny willing to take care of him, or he would punish him by forbidding him to eat today, and finally threaten him with the necklace.

The little nanny, who hadn’t seen much of the world, only knew these few tricks, repeating them over and over.

A few drops of blood slid down to his brow bone, which he wiped away with a raised hand.

Lu Chengjin held out the blood-stained finger toward Xie Rong.

“Are you talking about this color?” Xie Rong stared at the red, recalling many things from the past.

The grand wedding in the cultivation world, the wedding dress he wore was this red. When he self-destructed to drag that man to hell, the fresh blood was also this vivid.

“Your brother has excellent taste,” Xie Rong laughed hysterically. Feeling that this wasn’t enough to express his pleasure, he lowered his head and kissed Lu Chengjin’s finger, his tone laced with a sweet smile. “This is indeed the most beautiful color in the world.”

Lu Chengjin’s fringe cast a shadow over his eyes, and he curled the finger that had been kissed.

He had been wrong just now.

The little nanny’s methods were truly remarkable.

“Besides color, what else does he like?” Xie Rong quickly changed his expression, continuing to look annoyed. If not for the residual blood on his lips, it would seem the sweet, alluring smile just now was merely someone else’s imagination. “Since you’re mute, write it down on paper.”

Half an hour later, Xie Rong folded the paper, which was covered in writing, and went downstairs to check on his orange tree.

Unexpectedly, he saw a man who looked nine-tenths like Lu Chengjin sitting on the sofa, with Assistant Chen pouring tea beside him.

Xie Rong hesitated for two seconds but walked past them anyway, heading to check on his orange tree first.

This orange tree was secretly brought out by the system after he left the previous world; it was essentially a child he had personally raised.

“It seems you prefer oranges over cars.”

Xie Rong was squatting under the tree, examining the roots of the orange tree, when a shadow suddenly fell over his head.

He turned his head, meeting the man’s gaze, and asked abruptly:

“Mr. Lu, do you like red?”

If he didn’t seize the opportunity to ask, who knew if Lu Chengjin would lie to him.

“There are many kinds of red,” Lu Chengjun said.

Xie Rong licked the residual sweetness and tang of blood from his lips, stood up, walked closer, and tilted his head, pointing to his own lips. “Do you like this kind?”
