Chapter 5 Do as I Say

The agreement detailed Shu Lin’s rights and obligations as Shao Chengxi’s partner.

Including attending various political events with Shao Chengxi and refraining from any behavior that would damage his image, etc.

How did things develop to this point?

He wanted to make a deal with Shao Chengxi, but he also knew that, given his family background, he could at best be his lover.

He was young, and there were many things he didn’t understand, but he was clear on this point.

Shao Chengxi’s voice was as cold as ever:

“After the marriage, you must bear at least three children for me. You are still young, so the matter of children can be considered after our relationship stabilizes. I promise to give you the loyalty of an Alpha partner, and you must also be loyal to me. If you have no objections to this, then sign it.”

Shu Lin’s heart was in turmoil, and he had no intention of carefully reading the agreement. He raised his head and asked anxiously, “Then… my father and sister…”

Just then, there was a knock on the office door.

Assistant Cheng walked in with the staff from the Civil Affairs Bureau.

    “Minister Shao, everything is ready.”

Shao Chengxi nodded and looked at Shu Lin: “I’ll ask you one last time, have you thought it through?”

Shu Lin took a deep breath, “I’ve thought it through.”

With that, he signed the prenuptial agreement.

The marriage registration was processed quickly.

When the staff handed over the marriage certificate, Shu Lin was still a little dazed.

In the photo, Shao Chengxi still looked stern, while he looked extremely reserved.

“Congratulations to both of you,” the staff said with a smile. “This is the first marriage between an S-Class Alpha and a US-Class Omega in the empire in the last two or three decades. A match made in heaven.”

“Thank you.” Shao Chengxi took the marriage certificate and instructed Assistant Cheng to see the guests out.

As soon as the staff left, Shu Lin asked, “Can you send someone to rescue my father and sister now?”

Shao Chengxi raised his hand and looked at his watch, “The rescue personnel I sent have already arrived at the hospital where the accident occurred and are doing their best to rescue your family. Be patient.”

Shu Lin’s eyes lit up instantly, and he stood up from his chair, “I, I want to go to the hospital right away…”

Shao Chengxi got up, walked to Shu Lin, and looked down at him, “You can’t go. Wait for news here.”

He raised his hand and pressed on Shu Lin’s shoulder, “Remember, your most important identity now is my Omega. From now on, your every move represents my image. Don’t act rashly.”

    “But, I…”

    “Do as I say.”

Under the pressure of Shao Chengxi’s powerful aura, Shu Lin lowered his head, “Okay…”

“You look very tired. Go to my lounge and sleep for a while. If there’s any news about your father and sister, I’ll tell you as soon as possible. Don’t worry, as long as they are rescued, I will give your family the best security and medical care.”

Shu Lin sniffed and still kept his head down, “Okay…”

Shao Chengxi stared at the glands Shu Lin exposed before his eyes and pursed his lips, “Go, Assistant Cheng will take you to the lounge.”

Shu Lin nodded, didn’t look at him again, and turned to leave the office.

Shao Chengxi looked at his back, his eyes slightly dazed.

Assistant Cheng led Shu Lin through a quiet corridor to a wooden door.

“This is Minister Shao’s private lounge,” Assistant Cheng swiped the card to open the door, “Please make yourself comfortable.”

Shu Lin walked into the room, and what he saw was a simple but tasteful suite.

Dark gray carpets, black leather sofas, and bookshelves filled with political and economic books covered an entire wall.

The air was filled with a faint scent of ice and snow, Shao Chengxi’s pheromones.

He walked to the bed, and the dark blue sheets were smooth without a single wrinkle.

Shu Lin hesitated for a moment, then sat down.

The mattress was very hard, just like its owner, without any softness.

The sound of ambulance sirens came from outside the window, and Shu Lin’s heart clenched again.

He wanted to take out his mobile phone and try to contact Shu Jingcheng and Shu Lingxiao again, but then he remembered that his mobile phone had been taken away during the physical examination.

“Don’t worry,” he comforted himself, “Shao Chengxi promised…”

Having not slept for a night in a row, and his mind being highly stressed, now that he relaxed a little, a sense of fatigue suddenly surged up.

Shu Lin couldn’t help but lie down on the bed, the faint scent of ice and snow lingering around his nose.

This scent inexplicably calmed his restless mood.

Unconsciously, his eyelids became heavier and heavier, and his consciousness completely blurred.

At noon, the door of the lounge was gently pushed open.

    Shao Chengxi quietly walked in.

He had just finished an emergency meeting and still carried the lingering chill.

On the bed, Shu Lin curled up into a ball, like a frightened little animal.

His eyelashes were very long, casting a shadow under his eyes, and his cheeks were faintly flushed from sleep.

Shao Chengxi stood by the bed, his gaze unconsciously softening.

He noticed that Shu Lin’s hand was tightly clutching the corner of the quilt, and he was frowning even in his sleep.

“Nineteen years old, really too young, my little Omega…” he muttered to himself, reaching out and gently smoothing his brow.

Shu Lin in his sleep seemed to feel something, his brow relaxed slightly, and he shrank further into the quilt.

His glands were completely exposed to the air, emitting a faint scent of almonds, intertwined with the scent of ice and snow in the room.

    Shao Chengxi’s eyes suddenly darkened.

The astonishing number on the examination report – a 99% match rate – appeared in his mind.

This meant that this Omega’s pheromones had a fatal physiological attraction to him.

But he quickly composed himself and turned to walk towards the desk.

The latest rescue progress report from the chemical plant was on the desk, and he needed to deal with it as soon as possible.

    Just then, his phone vibrated.

He glanced at the caller ID.

It was news from the hospital.

He answered the phone and listened quietly.

After a while, he instructed, “Immediately transfer the person to Shao’s Hospital for rescue. The remaining personnel will stay at the hospital where the accident occurred to assist other departments in continuing the rescue.”

After hanging up the phone, Shu Lin’s intermittent voice came from the direction of the bed.

    “Dad… Sister… don’t leave me… I’m so scared… Wuwuwu…”

Shao Chengxi got up and walked to the bed, seeing Shu Lin sobbing in his dream.

The young man’s brows were furrowed, tears streamed from the corners of his eyes, and his body curled up even tighter.

    “Dad… Sister…” Shu Lin’s murmur was crying, “Don’t leave me, please, don’t leave me, I’m scared…”

Shao Chengxi had never comforted anyone before.

In his world, emotions were superfluous, and weakness was fatal.

But at this moment, looking at this little Omega, who was now his legal partner, being so helpless, he actually felt a trace of… heartache?

He hesitated for a moment, then reached out and gently patted Shu Lin’s shoulder: “Wake up.”

Shu Lin woke up with a start, and in the blur of tears, he saw Shao Chengxi’s face, unable to tell for a moment whether it was a dream or reality.

“Stop crying, your father and sister have been rescued,” Shao Chengxi said. “They are now being rescued at Shao’s Hospital.”

Shu Lin was stunned for a few seconds, then suddenly sat up, “Really? Are they… are they okay?”

“The specific situation is not yet clear, but their lives are not in danger.” Shao Chengxi took a step back and created some distance. “I have arranged for the best medical team…”

Before he could finish speaking, Shu Lin suddenly pounced on him and tightly hugged his neck.
