    Chapter 46: Wild Imagination

Shao Chengxi becomes so shameless when he’s alone with Shu Lin.

Even though Shu Lin has seen him like this many times, he can’t handle it every time, and it always ends with him begging for mercy.

After a brief moment of intimacy with Shu Lin, Shao Chengxi dropped him off near the Shu family home.

Back at home, Shu Lin finally saw Shu Lingxiao.

To his surprise, Shao Shiyan, who had said he had urgent business to attend to, was also there.

It was unclear what had happened at home before he came in. Shao Shiyan was sitting on a single sofa, head lowered in the direction of Shu Lingxiao, silently sulking.

Uncharacteristically, Shao Shiyan didn’t stay for dinner at the Shu’s house. He sat for a while and then left.

The Shu family of three finally gathered together to have a peaceful meal.

Knowing that his father and younger brother were worried about her, Shu Lingxiao said apologetically:

“I’m sorry for making you and Little Lin worry about me. However, everything is under our control, and I can’t reveal it in advance.”

“We?” Shu Lin was taken aback, then realized, “Sis, are you saying… all of this was planned by you and Shao Chengxi?”

Shu Lingxiao nodded, “That’s right. Behind the two bombing cases are some deeply hidden supporters of the opposition. It’s difficult to dig them out using conventional methods alone. So, Shao Chengxi and I decided to use a trick, using public opinion to lure them into revealing themselves.”

Shu Jingcheng disagreed somewhat, saying, “This method is too risky. You have to know that once public opinion gets out of control, your future could be ruined.”

Shu Lingxiao chuckled, “Dad is right, but Dad, the Shao family has actually been paying attention to the dynamics of public opinion behind the scenes and won’t let those with ulterior motives succeed. Isn’t everything alright now?”

Through this incident, Shu Lingxiao truly felt Shao Chengxi’s talent and the strength of the Shao family behind him.

The Shao Group has several well-known media outlets under its umbrella. To a certain extent, the Shao family can influence public opinion.

Shao Chengxi’s plan couldn’t be launched without a strong foundation of power.

For example, the City Procuratorate held a press conference at the first opportunity.

It’s not a simple matter to get the president to stand in front of the media.

The Shao family’s power is far greater than she imagined.

The president’s appearance to clarify the situation was just one part of the plan.

The direction of public opinion was already under Shao Chengxi’s control.

Through the current momentum, on the one hand, Shu Lingxiao was completely pushed into the public eye, paving the way for her next promotion.

It also laid a good foundation for her future success.

On the other hand, in addition to completely netting the hidden supporters of the opposition in the last step, Shao Chengxi also set up the game for the next action.

    This game will unfold soon.

    Shu Lingxiao felt somewhat complicated.

Shao Chengxi’s scheming was far deeper than she imagined.

The Shao family is worthy of being the empire’s number one financial group, handling matters invisibly, with unfathomable power.

Cooperating with such an ally is great, but…

“Sis, don’t be in a daze, eat quickly.” Shu Lin’s voice pulled her thoughts back.

Shu Lingxiao smiled at him and affectionately rubbed his head, “Okay, let’s eat. Hmm… home-cooked meals are still the best, work meals are awful.”

However, her simple, young, and foolish younger brother, no matter how much he studies, I’m afraid he won’t be able to catch up with a shrewd politician like Shao Chengxi.

At this moment, Shu Jingcheng said puzzledly:

“Lingxiao, I always feel that this Shao Shiyan is a bit strange, especially when he looks at you, his eyes are very strange. Is there something going on between you and him?”

After he said this, Shu Lin also felt something was wrong and looked at Shu Lingxiao curiously.

Shu Lingxiao’s gaze swept over the two of them, and she smiled calmly:

“What could happen between me and a little kid? I think he’s just curious about the prosecutor profession, so it seems like he’s being a little attentive to me. But, it’s okay, he’s just a kid, it’s just a passing fancy. When these two cases are over, he’ll calm down. Don’t worry about him.”

Shu Lin blindly worships his sister, nodding repeatedly, “Yes, yes, yes, what you said makes sense, Sis.”

“Is that so?” Shu Jingcheng frowned and muttered, “Anyway, stay away from that Omega of the Shao family. Even if he’s five years younger than you, there’s a difference between Alpha and Omega, so it’s best to avoid suspicion.”

Shu Lingxiao didn’t know whether to laugh or cry:

“I know, Dad. Even if I’m indiscriminate in my choice of partner, I wouldn’t go after a little Omega like him. What’s more, he’s Shao Chengxi’s younger brother. I don’t want to make the relationship so messy.”

Shu Lin understood Shu Jingcheng’s implied meaning and was shocked by his father’s wild imagination.

His sister and Shao Shiyan, how could that be possible?!

    Impossible, impossible.

    Absolutely impossible.

They don’t seem to be the same type of people at all.

But then again, what kind of person is the same type as his sister?

Shu Lin’s little head kept thinking about this question.

The final conclusion was: If Shao Chengxi were an Omega, he would actually be quite compatible with his sister. They are the same type of people.

    A strong alliance.

As soon as this thought came out, Shu Lin exclaimed. He was influenced by his father and would actually have such unrealistic imaginations.

“Tsk, tsk, tsk, don’t let your imagination run wild. How could Shao Chengxi be an Omega? Then my sister can’t be an Omega either! Oh, impossible, impossible, it’s all messed up.”

Shu Lin felt confused and kept patting his forehead.

He was actually thinking that it would be great if he were an Alpha, a powerful Alpha like his sister.

That way, if there was anything important, maybe Shao Chengxi would think of discussing it with him.

Two days later, the trial for the City Central Hospital bombing case ended.

When Shu Lin received the message from Shao Chengxi asking him to go home at night, his face turned red.

Unsurprisingly, Shao Chengxi pushed Shu Lin onto the bed as soon as he entered the door.

All night, Shao Chengxi was fulfilling his promise to “guarantee your satisfaction.”

The next day, Shu Lin couldn’t even go to school.

That night, Shao Chengxi was the same again.

However, before he could do anything to Shu Lin, Shu Lin started to cry.

At first, Shao Chengxi thought he was just whimpering and acting cute. He liked that very much.

Unexpectedly, Shu Lin’s crying became more and more unusual.

For some reason, he looked sad and was crying so hard that he was a little out of breath.

Shao Chengxi was a little at a loss:

“Baby, what’s wrong with you? Did I hurt you? Tell me, where do you feel uncomfortable?… Baby, don’t just cry.”

Shu Lin just cried. No matter how Shao Chengxi coaxed him, it was useless.

The night was spent in Shu Lin’s inexplicable sobbing.

It made Shao Chengxi feel both distressed and confused.

The next day, Shu Lin’s eyes were swollen and he couldn’t go to class again.

Seeing that he was still unhappy and unable to find the root of the problem, Shao Chengxi thought about it and called Shu Jingcheng before going to work, and then instructed Chen Butler.

When Chen Butler heard this, his eyes showed surprise.

Shao Chengxi actually specially approved Shu Jingcheng to enter the backyard of the Ministry of Defense, saying that he would come to accompany Shu Lin.

Shu Jingcheng arrived at a little after nine in the morning, and Chen Butler specially picked him up and brought him in.

Seeing Shu Jingcheng, Shu Lin looked aggrieved.

Hugging his precious son with heartache, Shu Jingcheng asked:

“Tell Dad, what’s wrong? Why are you crying like this?”
