Chapter 30: As You Wish
As soon as they left the hospital, Shao Chengxi took Shu Lin straight to his residence in Fenghang City.
The door closed, and Shu Lin was pinned against the wall.
Shao Chengxi’s aura came over him, with the iciness of snow, yet burning hot enough to make one’s heart tremble.
His kisses landed on Shu Lin, and he whispered, “Baby, it’s finally just you and me.”
Shu Lin’s fingers unconsciously tightened on the corner of his clothes, his voice trembling slightly, “You, don’t fool around, you’re still injured. The doctor said, don’t mess around.”
Shao Chengxi chuckled softly, his fingers gently caressing his cheek, “He said don’t mess around, didn’t say don’t come at all. Baby, don’t worry, I’ll take it easy.”
Shu Lin was exasperated, “You… Shao Chengxi, can your skin get any thicker?”
Shao Chengxi lowered his head and kissed Shu Lin’s lips, “As you wish.”
A night of entanglement, but not as Shu Lin wished.
Afterward, the room was filled with a mixed scent of apricot and ice.
Shao Chengxi held Shu Lin tightly, as if comforting a lazy cat.
Shu Lin closed his eyes, his breathing gradually calming, his cheeks still flushed, his whole body nestled softly in Shao Chengxi’s arms.
Shao Chengxi looked down at him, brushed aside the slightly damp hair on his forehead, and asked in a low voice:
“Baby, why have you been avoiding me?”
Shu Lin’s eyelashes trembled slightly, but he didn’t open his eyes, only buried his face deeper into his arms.
Shao Chengxi’s fingers gently pinched his chin, forcing him to look up.
“Baby, look at me.” His voice was deep, with an undeniable strength.
Shu Lin had no choice but to open his eyes, meeting his dark eyes, his heart in a panic, yet with nowhere to escape.
He pursed his lips, his voice hoarse, “I, I wasn’t avoiding you.”
“Wasn’t?” Shao Chengxi raised an eyebrow, his tone with a hint of teasing, “Then why didn’t you even answer my calls?”
Shu Lin’s eyes darted away, not daring to look him in the eye.
Seeing this, Shao Chengxi’s heart softened, and he lowered his head and kissed his forehead gently, his tone softening:
“Is it because of Shao Yuanheng, right?”
Shu Lin’s body stiffened visibly, his fingers unconsciously gripping the corner of the blanket.
Shao Chengxi noticed his reaction and held him even tighter, “Are you blaming me for not taking care of that matter? Just letting it drop like that?”
Shu Lin was silent for a moment, slowly shaking his head:
“I, I don’t blame you, and I don’t want to cause you any trouble. That person is, after all, your older brother. I know you’re in a difficult position, and it’s not good to do anything to him.”
Fingers gently pinched his cheek, Shao Chengxi’s expression solemn:
“He is my older brother, that’s right, but you are my Omega. From the day you married me, you and I are one. Offending you is the same as offending me. When I return to the Imperial Capital, I will definitely get justice for you.”
Shu Lin looked up at him, no longer speaking, meeting his gaze for a long time, then buried his face in his arms again, and soon fell into a deep sleep in his arms.
His breathing was even and soft.
Shao Chengxi kissed the top of his head and closed his eyes as well.
The night deepened, and only the intertwined breathing of the two remained in the room, warm and quiet.
The next morning, Shu Lin slowly opened his eyes and found himself still being held tightly in Shao Chengxi’s arms.
His breathing was steady, seemingly still asleep.
Shu Lin moved slightly, wanting to get up, but was firmly locked in place by Shao Chengxi’s arms, unable to move.
“Don’t move.” Shao Chengxi’s voice was hoarse with sleep, his eyes still closed, but he accurately pressed Shu Lin back into his arms.
Shu Lin had no choice but to lie still and asked softly, “When can you go back to the Imperial Capital?”
Shao Chengxi finally opened his eyes, looked down at him, and pursed his lips, “Today I will handle the handover of matters here, and tomorrow I will take you back.”
Shu Lin looked anxious, “I was just asking casually, no other meaning, no rush. The wound on your head hasn’t healed yet, it’s not too late to go back after it’s healed.”
Shao Chengxi chuckled softly, pinched his earlobe, “I’m the one who’s anxious, don’t worry, my injury is fine, I know what I’m doing.”
Shu Lin became even more anxious, “Don’t, you should just stay in the hospital and get well, otherwise…”
Shao Chengxi stopped his words with a kiss, and the two spent a while in tenderness before getting up.
Miraculously, two months of estrangement were mended overnight.
Shao Chengxi indeed took Shu Lin back to the Imperial Capital.
Shao Bingheng took the opportunity to stay in Fenghang City, assisting Vice President Wu Xun in handling the aftermath of the cleanup operation in the name of the Shao Group.
The Shao Group’s generous assistance this time earned them a great deal of goodwill in the public eye.
Naturally, Shao Chengxi’s political achievements increased by a large margin.
After getting off the plane, Shao Chengxi didn’t return to the Shao Residence, but first took Shu Lin back to his residence in the Ministry of Defense.
The work on the dubbing team had to be postponed, and Shu Lin accompanied the injured Shao Chengxi at home for three days to recuperate.
Once the gauze on Shao Chengxi’s head was removed, he began to deal with Shao Yuanheng’s matter.
That day, just as he was about to go out, Shu Lin grabbed him, and after a moment of silence, said softly:
“These days, after much consideration, I still don’t want more people to know about this matter, including my father and sister, and other members of the Shao family. I don’t want to be the focus of attention because of this. I only have one request, that he never approach me again.”
It wasn’t that he was afraid.
He had asked Shu Lingxiao tactfully.
She told him that out-of-control behavior due to Pheromone Imbalance Disorder is usually recognized in judicial practice as unconscious and uncontrollable, similar to mental illness.
If the circumstances are minor and no serious consequences are caused, it does not constitute a crime.
If this matter becomes well known to both the Shu and Shao families, apart from verbal condemnation of Shao Yuanheng, it would not benefit Shu Lin at all.
If his father and sister knew, it would only add to their worries.
At the same time, in the Shao family, he would only become the topic of gossip.
He had married into the Shao family as a US-Class Omega, which was sensitive enough.
Becoming the center of attention again because of this would make him the culprit for causing discord among the Shao brothers.
This was something he had only understood after a long time.
Besides, it had been so long since it happened, he should let it go.
Shao Chengxi met Shu Lin’s gaze, discerning whether what he said was his true thoughts or a forced compromise.
After a long time, Shao Chengxi grasped his hand in return, his tone firm:
“Baby, I understand what you mean. Don’t worry, I will handle this matter properly and will never let you be wronged, let alone give him another chance to approach you.”
Afterward, Shao Chengxi went to Shao’s Hospital to find Shao Yuanheng.
Since Shao Yuanheng confessed his condition to Shao Tingrui and Shao Bingheng, he had been secretly receiving treatment at Shao’s Hospital.
The attending physician was Chen Mingyuan, an internal medicine specialist, the same Director Chen who had treated Shu Jingcheng.
The doctors here are very well-paid, specially trained, and understand that keeping secrets is a matter of life and death.
After more than two months of treatment, Shao Yuanheng’s condition had improved, but he had not been cured.
His mental state was not good.
After his confession, Shao Bingheng arranged for someone to treat him, and he had not yet been removed from his position as vice chairman.
But from their attitude, he knew that if his illness could not be cured, he would most likely lose the qualification to succeed as chairman.
But he had asked Director Chen, and he had been told that it was already difficult to control his illness, and that it would be difficult to cure it with the current medical level.
Unless…
Seeing Shao Chengxi appear, Shao Yuanheng felt that there was still a glimmer of hope.
His mind raced.
Shao Yuanheng knew that Shao Chengxi would find him sooner or later to stand up for his Omega.
Sure enough, Shao Chengxi didn’t waste any words and went straight to the point when he saw him: “Shu Lin’s matter should have a result. I have two suggestions for handling it.”
“What suggestions?”
