Chapter 29: Struck by Lightning
Shu Lin and Shao Bingheng were both stunned when they pushed open the hospital room door.
Shao Chengxi was sitting on the hospital bed with several layers of gauze wrapped around his forehead, while Assistant Cheng stood beside him, waiting for him to approve documents.
Hearing the door open, both he and Assistant Cheng looked up.
Assistant Cheng noticed that the expression on Shao Chengxi’s face was more vivid than ever before the moment he saw Shu Lin.
His eyebrows and eyes were filled with undisguised surprise.
She had never seen Shao Chengxi’s emotions so openly displayed before.
“Shu Lin, Baby!” Shao Chengxi exclaimed.
Assistant Cheng wore an expression as if she had been struck by lightning.
What had she just heard?
Baby?
Such a cheesy and childish nickname actually came from Minister Shao’s ice-cold mouth!
Was she hallucinating?
Assistant Cheng’s gaze followed Shao Chengxi’s figure.
Regardless of everyone’s stares, Shao Chengxi pulled Shu Lin into his arms, excitedly saying, “Baby, why are you here? What a surprise…”
“Boom! Boom boom!”
Assistant Cheng felt like she heard thunder, and her heart screamed, “Lightning, strike me dead!”
When Shao Chengxi cupped Shu Lin’s cheeks in his hands, Shu Lin was still dazed, standing there staring at him, not knowing what to say.
Shao Bingheng, who was treated like air: “…”
“Um, um, Shao Chengxi, can’t you see your old man here?”
Only then did Shao Chengxi notice his father standing next to Shu Lin, but he didn’t feel embarrassed at all.
He held Shu Lin’s face and kissed his forehead.
If Assistant Cheng hadn’t been there, he would have kissed his Omega’s little mouth by now.
Speaking of which, why were these two so clueless?
Why haven’t they disappeared yet? What are they doing standing here?
Assistant Cheng reacted immediately, quickly packed up the documents, and with a thunderstruck expression, she vanished in a flash.
Only the three of them remained in the room.
Shu Lin’s face flushed red from Shao Chengxi’s actions.
With Shao Bingheng present, he only felt embarrassed, lowered his head, and obediently sat next to Shao Chengxi without saying a word.
Shao Bingheng, seeing that Shao Chengxi was fine, said unhappily, “Isn’t this a false report? They said you were being rescued.”
Shao Chengxi didn’t get angry but smiled, his eyes fixed on Shu Lin, and said perfunctorily, “Who said that?”
“I did.”
A voice suddenly came from the doorway, and the three of them looked up.
Vice President Wu Xun was walking in.
The three of them immediately stood up to greet him.
Shao Bingheng seemed to be very familiar with Wu Xun, shook hands and asked about him, and even chatted casually for a few words.
When Shu Lin saw Vice President Wu Xun, he became very restrained.
He had never imagined that he would meet such a high-ranking and powerful figure in this kind of situation, and he didn’t know where to put his hands and feet.
Wu Xun looked at him with a smile, and he mechanically greeted him, obediently standing beside Shao Chengxi, and said no more.
As soon as Wu Xun appeared, Shao Chengxi immediately understood what was going on.
He suppressed the corner of his mouth and pretended to be serious, “Mr. Vice President, why did you lie to my family?”
Wu Xun pointed at him and scolded angrily:
“You little brat, you’re selling favors after getting a good deal. You’ve made a great contribution in this operation. I just wanted to give you an extra reward. How is it, surprised?”
Shao Bingheng said jokingly, “These two young people must be pleasantly surprised, but they scared us old folks.”
Shu Lin was holding Shao Chengxi’s hand and complained in his heart, “There is no surprise, okay?”
Wu Xun laughed heartily: “Hahaha, sorry, Chairman Shao, I didn’t think it through. Let’s go, I’ll buy you a drink as an apology.”
Shao Bingheng waved his hand and said with a smile:
“Where, where. It’s Shao’s honor to drink with the Vice President. How about this, I’ll be the host and treat all the personnel who participated in this battle to a good drink, as a celebration of your great victory, and also take the opportunity to thank you for your support for my Shao Chengxi’s work.”
Wu Xun: “Okay, let’s go then, don’t be a third wheel here.”
The two glanced at Shao Chengxi and Shu Lin, laughed heartily, and left.
As soon as the hospital room door closed, Shu Lin breathed a sigh of relief and glared at Shao Chengxi unhappily, “So it was a lie… um… don’t…”
Shao Chengxi couldn’t wait to press Shu Lin onto the hospital bed, and kissed his lips urgently and fiercely, with the longing and desire of the past two months.
Shu Lin struggled uneasily, “This is a hospital…”
“Baby, no one will come in…” Shao Chengxi mumbled vaguely, his hands already restless.
Shu Lin’s body went weak, “Your injury…”
“It’s fine.” Shao Chengxi kissed him.
His pheromones overflowed uncontrollably, and the scent of ice and snow filled the entire room.
Surrounded by this scent, Shu Lin’s body relaxed unconsciously.
“Did you miss me?” Shao Chengxi gently bit his earlobe and asked in a low voice.
Shu Lin blushed, his eyes flickering, refusing to answer.
Shao Chengxi chuckled, “Won’t say? Then I have no choice but to…”
Shu Lin took a sharp breath and exclaimed, “Shao Chengxi!”
“Call me husband. We’re married, and the Shao family has already presented the bride price. Call me husband.” Shao Chengxi bargained with him.
Shu Lin didn’t speak, glaring at him irritably.
Shao Chengxi insisted, “Will you call me or not?”
“You…” Shu Lin was about to protest when Shao Chengxi kissed him again.
This kiss was much gentler, and Shu Lin gradually became immersed in it, closing his eyes and responding unconsciously.
Feeling his response, Shao Chengxi became even more excited.
Shu Lin suddenly opened his eyes and struggled with all his might, “Shao Chengxi, don’t go too far. This is a hospital, don’t mess around…”
“I said it’s fine, let me take a good look at you…”
Just then, footsteps suddenly came from outside the door.
Shu Lin was startled and used all his strength to push Shao Chengxi away.
Shao Chengxi frowned unhappily, took a few steps back, straightened his clothes, and whispered ambiguously, “I’m being discharged today, we’ll continue tonight.”
Shu Lin slapped his hand away and glared at him.
Behind him came Shao Chengxi’s low laughter.
Why did he feel like this person was a cat stealing fish?
Who said he was aloof and abstinent?
Come and see his impatient demeanor.
Shao Chengxi finally calmed down a bit, and Shu Lin quickly called his family back.
Hearing that he was fine, Shu Jingcheng and Shu Lingxiao finally let go of their worries.
Shu Jingcheng breathed a sigh of relief and said on the phone:
“I said, with the Shao family in front of everything, don’t panic so much when things happen in the future. Were you scared?”
“Actually, it’s okay…” Shu Lin stood by the window, glanced at Shao Chengxi who was clamoring to be discharged, and didn’t chat any further.
After hanging up the phone, Shu Lin watched him bargain with the attending doctor.
It seemed that they knew each other and were very familiar.
The two argued fiercely, and Shu Lin wanted to interject a few words to persuade them, but he couldn’t get a word in.
In the end, the attending doctor and Shao Chengxi each took a step back, only allowing Shao Chengxi to go out tonight and obediently return to the hospital for further treatment tomorrow.
Before leaving the hospital room, the attending doctor glanced at Shu Lin meaningfully and left a sentence to Shao Chengxi unhappily, “Take it easy, don’t mess around.”
Instantly, Shu Lin was so ashamed that he wanted to find a crack in the ground to crawl into.
