RT Chapter 22
by Volare“Hi, little sister-in-law.”
It was Shao Shiyan, Shao Chengxi’s Omega younger brother.
He sat next to Shu Lin with a smile, “Can I call you that?”
Shu Lin was struck by this term: “It feels a bit strange.”
“Then what should I call you?” Shao Shiyan blinked. “Shu Lin? Little Lin? Or… darling?”
Shu Lin was a little embarrassed, “Just call me by my name.”
Shao Shiyan grinned, “Okay, Little Lin.”
He leaned closer, “I’m very curious, how did you manage to win over my iceberg of an older brother?”
Shu Lin’s mind was a bit muddled, and he blurted out, “I didn’t win over your brother. He just took a fancy to me being a US-Class Omega, with a high pheromone compatibility, who can help him through his rut. There’s no affection between us.”
Besides, was he an iceberg?
Shu Lin questioned dizzily.
When they first met, he was.
Now it seemed…
“Oh, really?” Shao Shiyan glanced at the beaming Shao Chengxi not far away, a playful look on his face.
Suddenly, he lowered his voice in Shu Lin’s ear, “Little Lin, my second brother used to be famous for not getting close to Omegas.”
Shu Lin remembered Shao Chengxi pressing him onto the bed every night and shook his head vigorously, “I don’t believe it.”
“You have to believe it,” Shao Shiyan said mysteriously, “Once, when his rut was coming, an S-Class Omega deliberately went into heat in front of him. Guess what happened?”
“What happened?”
“He directly had the security guards carry him out.”
Shu Lin widened his eyes, “No way, that’s too ungentlemanly, at least he should have…”
“Absolutely true!” Shao Shiyan said exaggeratedly, “He’s not gentle with Omegas at all. That’s why I’m curious, what magic did you use to make my iceberg of an older brother care so much about you?”
Shu Lin was getting dizzier and shook his head blankly.
“Could it be…” Shao Shiyan’s expression was ambiguous, “You’re particularly… on the bed…”
Shu Lin was shocked and, not caring about anything else, raised his hand to cover his mouth, “Don’t talk nonsense, the elders will hear.”
Shao Shiyan’s eyes were full of smiles, and he nodded at him repeatedly, signaling him to let go.
Shu Lin noticed that people were looking at them strangely, realized his gaffe, and quickly let go, scratching his head embarrassedly.
Shao Shiyan was amused by his small actions, “Believe me, my second brother didn’t just marry you because you’re a US-Class Omega.”
Shu Lin was truly feeling the effects of the strong alcohol, and after hearing him say this, he nodded foolishly, “Yeah, I know. He also wants me to give him three children.”
As he spoke, he even made a gesture of 3 with his fingers.
“What? You two have already reached the point of having children?!” Shao Shiyan’s tone rose several degrees.
“Shiyan!” Shao Chengxi’s voice suddenly rang out, “What are you talking to Shu Lin about?”
Shao Shiyan immediately sat up straight, distanced himself from Shu Lin, and put on an innocent look, “Nothing, just chatting.”
Shao Chengxi narrowed his eyes, “It better be.”
Shao Shiyan stuck out his tongue and whispered to Shu Lin, “See, my second brother is still a wife-protecting maniac.”
Shu Lin’s mind was still dizzy, and he didn’t understand what he meant, looking dazed.
“Oh, right,” Shao Shiyan suddenly remembered something, “Do you play games?”
Shu Lin, “A little.”
“That’s great!” Shao Shiyan said excitedly, “Let’s play together online someday! I’ll carry you!”
Shao Chengxi frowned, “Shiyan, don’t lead Shu Lin astray.”
“What do you mean by leading astray,” Shao Shiyan said dissatisfied, “What’s wrong with playing games? Do you have to be like you, wearing a stern face all day long? No fun at all.”
Shu Lin suddenly giggled, “He doesn’t wear a stern face all day long, he smiles a lot, especially at night in bed…”
“Shiyan, he’s drunk, I’ll take him upstairs to rest, you go find someone else to play with.”
Shao Chengxi interrupted Shu Lin’s words, and without saying a word, bent down and picked him up.
Shao Shiyan still wanted to hear some juicy content, unwillingly said, “Hey, second brother, let little sister-in-law talk, don’t be so stingy.”
Shao Chengxi turned his head and glared at him, carrying Shu Lin upstairs.
Back in his bedroom, Shao Chengxi gently placed Shu Lin on the bed, helping him take off his shoes and coat.
Shu Lin was drunk and dazed, his cheeks flushed, and he was still muttering something.
“Shao Chengxi, no, don’t want to have children, it will hurt, the books say, it’s more painful than that time…”
Shao Chengxi chuckled and kissed his forehead, “Okay, we won’t have them yet, be good, sleep.”
He helped Shu Lin cover himself with the quilt and gently closed the door, leaving.
After going downstairs, Shao Chengxi looked around and saw Shu Lingxiao standing alone in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, admiring the night view of the garden.
“Sis,” Shao Chengxi approached, “Where’s Dad?”
Shu Lingxiao turned around, “He went for a walk with Grandpa.”
Shao Chengxi nodded, “Interested in sitting down for a chat?”
Shu Lingxiao raised an eyebrow, “Sure.”
The two sat down, and Shao Chengxi led the topic, “Does Sis have a specific plan for her work in the procuratorate?”
Shu Lingxiao immediately guessed what he was going to say, “Of course, people strive to go higher, water flows to lower places, I have my own goals. What, do you want to cooperate with me?”
Shao Chengxi’s lips curved up, “I just like dealing with smart people. I will arrange for you to participate in some important cases, and when the time is right, I will first promote you to the position of Director of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, and then the position of Chief Prosecutor. I believe you have the ability.”
A trace of surprise flashed in Shu Lingxiao’s eyes, “What are the conditions?”
Shao Chengxi, “Become my supporter.”
Shu Lingxiao lowered her eyes and thought for a while, then raised her head, “Okay, deal. Happy cooperation.”
The two looked at each other, seemingly knowing what the other was thinking.
At least in protecting Shu Lin, they were united.
If the Shu family could have a place in politics, it would be a form of protection for Shu Lin.
Suddenly, Shao Chengxi keenly heard a cry of surprise from upstairs.
This cry of surprise was covered by the noise in the hall, and others couldn’t hear it at all.
But Shao Chengxi heard it.
It was Shu Lin’s voice.
His expression changed, he said “Excuse me” to Shu Lingxiao, and got up and ran upstairs.
