    Chapter 21: By What Right?

Shu Lin followed the crowd’s gaze and saw a male Alpha with a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes.

The man resembled Shao Chengxi by three or four parts, was slightly shorter, and his eyes carried a clear sense of hostility.

“Yuanheng,” Shao Bingheng frowned, “Mind the occasion and your attitude.”

Shao Yuanheng shrugged. “I just think, is a commoner Omega worth this much betrothal gift from the Shao family? Aren’t we elevating him too high?”

    The hall fell silent instantly.

The Shu family’s expressions turned unpleasant.

Shao Chengxi secretly grasped Shu Lin’s hand, coldly eyeing Shao Yuanheng. “Elder brother, please be careful with your words.”

“What?” Shao Yuanheng’s lips curled slightly. “Did I say something wrong?”

He turned to Shu Lin, revealing a look of disdain. “So what if you’re a US-Class Omega?”

    Shu Lin’s face paled.

The Shu family had never boasted about being a US-Class Omega.

On the contrary, they had always been careful to hide it, fearing that this status would bring misfortune to Shu Lin.

A Shu Lin who was treated as a tool was dangerous.

Who knew fate would play tricks, leading them to this point today, where they had to use this status to establish themselves.

A flash of anger crossed Shao Chengxi’s eyes, but quickly his lips curved into a mocking smile. “Elder brother isn’t an S-Class Alpha, so naturally you wouldn’t know how valuable a US-Class Omega is to an S-Class Alpha. Shu Lin is someone I can only find by chance. I can understand elder brother’s thoughts.”

“Shao Chengxi!” Shao Yuanheng, having been hit where it hurt, instantly flew into a rage. “Don’t think just because you’re…”

“Enough!” Shao Tingrui rebuked. “Yuanheng, if you continue like this, get out!”

Shao Yuanheng’s face changed, and he hurriedly said, “I’m sorry, Grandpa, I was just joking.”

Shao Tingrui snorted coldly. “That kind of joke isn’t funny at all. It’s unbecoming of the Shao family’s upbringing, making our in-laws laugh at us. Quickly apologize to our in-laws.”

    Shao Yuanheng’s face turned dark.

Shao Tingrui’s words clearly told everyone that in the future, no one in the Shao family could look down on this US-Class Omega who hadn’t even fully matured.

    But, by what right?!

Shao Chengxi, relying on his being an S-Class Alpha, had been suppressing him in the Shao family for so many years.

Now, he even had such dog-shit luck to marry a one-in-a-million US-Class Omega.

A US-Class Omega was such a precious existence.

US-Class Omega, short for Unlimited Super Omega, their pheromones were invincible.

They could achieve a high level of compatibility with any Alpha’s pheromones, especially for S-Class Alphas, they were simply salvation.

But US-Class Omegas were too rare. There were fewer than a hundred in the entire empire.

Moreover, they had all applied for virtual identities and hidden themselves.

According to law, no organization or individual could disclose it without legal procedures, otherwise they would be subject to criminal penalties up to the death penalty.

Ever since Shao Chengxi had differentiated into an S-Class Alpha, his rut had been his greatest nightmare.

The rut of ordinary Alphas was just a few days of discomfort, but for S-Class Alphas, it was undoubtedly torture.

Their pheromones were too strong, and ordinary Omegas simply couldn’t bear it, let alone provide comfort.

Thinking of Shao Chengxi’s pain every time he experienced his rut, Shao Yuanheng felt somewhat balanced.

Especially after Shao Chengxi entered politics, he always encountered unexpected events, and if it coincided with his rut, he had to take strong suppressants in advance.

But the side effects of strong suppressants were extremely terrible.

Each use was accompanied by severe headaches and muscle spasms.

As the number of uses increased, these side effects became even worse.

Shao Yuanheng had seen Shao Chengxi endure all of this.

The more painful Shao Chengxi was, the happier he felt inside.

For an S-Class Alpha, finding an Omega with a high pheromone match was not easy.

He thought that Shao Chengxi would not find an Omega with a high pheromone match so quickly.

It was even possible that he would never find one in his life.

Unexpectedly, not only did he find one, but he found a beautiful and young US-Class Omega.

This meant that he would no longer suffer from the pain of his rut in the future.

On the contrary, with Shu Lin’s existence, every rut of his would be the ultimate enjoyment bestowed upon him by God.

Shao Yuanheng’s heart was screaming madly.

    By what right?!

Why did all the good things fall to Shao Chengxi?!

No matter how unwilling he was in his heart, he could only endure it after Shao Tingrui spoke.

Shao Yuanheng stood up, forced an apologetic expression on his face, and bowed to the three members of the Shu family. “I’m sorry, I was rude just now, please forgive me.”

Shu Jingcheng did not respond. It was Shu Lingxiao who spoke. “We accept your apology, but we hope this kind of offense is the first and the last.”

The corners of Shao Yuanheng’s mouth twitched.

Hmph, even this little Omega’s older sister dared to give him attitude.

Forced by the pressure of Shao Tingrui’s gaze, he had to respond with a “It won’t happen again.”

This unpleasant episode was thus turned over.

    The banquet officially began.

The banquet was divided into two stages. The first stage was a family dinner, and the second was a cocktail party.

The family dinner ended at more than eight o’clock in the evening, and everyone began to move freely.

Shu Jingcheng chatted with the Shao family’s elders, Shu Lingxiao’s arm was still injured, making it inconvenient for her to move around, and she was worried about Shu Jingcheng’s health, so she stayed by his side, quietly listening to the elders speak.

With Shao Tingrui present, everyone was still polite overall.

The Shao family members who attended the banquet included Shao Tingrui’s peers, and his children and grandchildren.

Among his children, Shao Bingheng, the eldest son, was the center of attention.

The Shao family was a large family with many descendants.

In contrast, the three members of the Shu family did appear thin.

Shu Jingcheng was the only child in his family, and his parents had passed away long ago. Currently, there were only the three of them in the Shu family, with no other relatives.

Even if there were, Shu Jingcheng had no intention of inviting others to come along.

He didn’t want to be ostentatious, he just wanted to protect his children.

The elders formed their own group over there.

Over there, Shao Chengxi led Shu Lin to greet the Shao family members one by one.

After going through the rounds, Shu Lin drank a lot of wine, and his head was a little dizzy. He was supported by Shao Chengxi and rested in a secluded corner.

Not long after sitting down, someone called Shao Chengxi, and he went to socialize.

Shu Lin just breathed a sigh of relief when a figure suddenly approached.
