Shao Chengxi took a deep breath and released Shu Lin. “Go take a shower and rest. I’ll have someone take care of the things. You don’t need to worry about it.”
“Okay…”
Shao Chengxi straightened his clothes and left the bedroom.
The moment the bedroom door closed, Shu Lin exhaled a long breath. His legs weakened, and he collapsed onto the bed.
He touched his lips where Shao Chengxi had bitten him. There was still a slight tingling.
“So scary…”
He muttered to himself, shuddering at the thought of Shao Chengxi’s appearance just now.
Once his heartbeat calmed down, Shu Lin realized he was drenched in a cold sweat.
Hesitating for a moment, he got up and locked the bedroom door from the inside before finally feeling safe enough to enter the bathroom.
The warm water washed over his body, and Shu Lin became a little lost in thought.

Remembering Shao Chengxi’s words, his face flushed instantly, and he quickly lowered his head.
After showering, he changed into clean pajamas and walked out of the bathroom, unable to stop yawning.

He hurriedly got up to open the door.

Standing outside the door was not Shao Chengxi, but a kind-faced middle-aged Beta man.
“Mr. Shu, hello,” the man said with a smile. “I am Assistant Cheng, Shao Chengxi’s butler. I will be responsible for your and Shao Chengxi’s daily life from now on.”
Shu Lin was taken aback. “Shao… Where is Shao Chengxi?”
“Shao Chengxi received urgent official business this afternoon and has already left,” Assistant Cheng explained. “He originally wanted to tell you himself, but since you had locked the door, he asked me to relay the message. He said that he might not be able to return tonight, so you should go to sleep first and not wait for him.”
“Oh.”
Shu Lin replied, feeling inexplicably relieved.
During dinner, Assistant Cheng introduced while serving the dishes:
“This is the residence arranged by the Ministry of Defense for ministerial-level officials. The security is very strict. Facial recognition is required for entry and exit. After dinner, I will take you to register your personal information for convenient access in the future.”
Shu Lin nodded, suddenly realizing something, and asked, “Then how can my father and sister come to see me here?”
“I’m sorry,” Assistant Cheng said. “Unless Shao Chengxi specifically approves it, outsiders cannot enter, not even Shao Chengxi’s family.”
Shu Lin sighed inwardly.
That meant he would only be able to go home to see his father and sister in the future.

He hesitated again and again, but still clicked on his phone and entered the mysterious website that Gu Xiao had told him about.
