    Chapter 112: Treasure Boy

Coming out of the Shu family home, Shao Chengxi quickly got into the car.

The cold winter wind dispersed some of the gloom between his brows.

Starting the car engine, he rested one hand on the steering wheel and exhaled heavily.

The streetlights outside the window cast a dim yellow light on his slightly tired face.

Opening his phone, he saw that the butler had called him. Seeing that he hadn’t answered, the butler had sent a message.

It said that after Shu Lin returned home, he was called away by Shao Tingrui again.

Stepping on the gas pedal, the scenery outside the window slowly receded.

Shao Chengxi looked at the road ahead, and again recalled Shu Jingcheng’s probing question about “divorce,” feeling a stuffiness in his chest.

Due to time constraints, before coming to the Shu family home, he had only listened to Shu Lin’s dubbing of the character Ye Wuhen.

This was a villain full of contradictions, brought vividly to life by Shu Lin’s performance.

He had to admit that Shu Lin’s voice acting was extremely infectious.

Sometimes gloomy and deep, sometimes manic and flamboyant, Shu Lin fully showcased the complexity of this character.

When he heard the steamy scene that went viral, Shao Chengxi would subconsciously frown.

After listening to it several times, he knew that he had been arbitrary.

This scene was seamlessly connected to the plot, perfectly presenting the character’s inner struggles and desires. It wasn’t an unnecessary gimmick to attract attention.

During that scene, the screen was full of internet slang like “Ye Wuhen is amazing,” “This scene is legendary,” “Aaaah, I’m dead,” and “My ears are pregnant.”

Although Shao Chengxi didn’t understand, he could see that the audience’s reactions were positive.

He quickly browsed the reviews of Shu Lin’s other works.

Like the character Ye Wuhen, Shu Lin mostly dubbed supporting roles, with few scenes, but all of them had brilliant moments.

The only leading role drama he dubbed was called “Breaking Waves,” which told the story of a disabled teenager chasing his swimming dreams.

The part called the “steamy scene” was actually a stream-of-consciousness bed scene where the protagonist and his lover’s souls merged, beautiful and restrained.

The comment section was filled with comments like “I cried,” “Too healing,” and similar statements.

After this, Shu Lin originally had another leading role drama to take on, but because of Shao Chengxi’s intervention, he ultimately had to give it up.

By the time he returned to the Shao Residence, it was already ten o’clock at night.

Shao Chengxi went directly to Shao Tingrui’s place.

The old butler told him that Shu Lin, Shao Tingrui, Shao Yuqin, and Shao Bingheng were chatting in the tea room.

Walking through the corridor, he could hear the sound of laughter coming from the tea room in the distance.

Reaching the door of the tea room, just as he was about to push it open, he suddenly heard Shao Tingrui’s loud voice:

“Hahaha… Xiao Lin, Chengxi’s reaction is so over the top, it’s actually just jealousy. But his jealousy is too outrageous, hahaha…”

“Who says it isn’t? Hahaha…” It was Shao Yuqin’s voice.

    And Shao Bingheng’s laughter.

Shao Chengxi’s hand stopped on the doorknob, his face burning.

Then, Shao Tingrui’s voice came again.

“Xiao Lin, on your great-aunt’s recommendation, I listened to both of your works in full! Grandpa has a certain right to speak, do you agree?”

Shu Lin’s slightly shy voice came, “Um… Grandpa, which two works did you listen to?”

“One is your famous work, where you dubbed a villain named Ye Wuhen, and the other is the drama you starred in, ‘Breaking Waves.’ Now do you believe Grandpa didn’t lie to you?”

Shu Lin’s voice was clearly filled with anticipation, “Um, I believe you, Grandpa. What do you think of my dubbing?”

“Hahaha… To use your young people’s words, Xiao Lin, you really are a treasure boy, bringing too many surprises to this old man!”

“What surprises are there? Grandpa, please tell me specifically, quickly tell me specifically, I want to hear it, I want to hear it.”

The tea room was filled with the three elders’ pleasant and doting laughter.

Shao Tingrui didn’t hold back his praise.

He pointed out Shu Lin’s strengths one by one, with substance and sincerity, without any perfunctoriness.

Shu Lin leaned forward unconsciously, his mouth never closing, nodding as he listened, his eyes as bright as the evening star in the sky.

“If you ask me, I still like your dubbing of Ye Wuhen the most. Especially the scene where he monologues in the rain, the trembling and despair in his voice made even this old man’s heart tremble.”

Shu Lin kept shaking Shao Tingrui’s arm, excitedly confirming again and again:

“Grandpa, really? Really? Is it really true?”

    Shao Tingrui laughed heartily:

“Yo, really, really, it’s all true, little ancestor, stop shaking, you’re going to shake this old man apart.”

“Hehehe…” Shu Lin hugged his arm and leaned his head on it, giggling foolishly.

Shao Tingrui fondly stroked his head and winked mischievously:

“It’s said that beautiful faces are all the same, but interesting souls are one in a million.”

“Our Xiao Lin not only has a beautiful face, but also such an interesting soul, he is born to be a presidential spouse.”

“Imagine when Chengxi runs for president in the future, everyone will know that he not only has a one-in-a-million US-Class Omega partner, but his partner is also a voice actor, who is good at dubbing and doesn’t even skimp on steamy scenes. Such a dedicated person will bring him so much attention and support.”

Shu Lin’s smile dimmed slightly, and his fingers unconsciously tugged at Shao Tingrui’s clothes, saying disappointedly:

“But brother said that those steamy scenes will cause controversy and may bring risks to his future campaign…”

“Hahaha…” Shao Tingrui laughed again and said:

“Don’t listen to his nonsense. Believe Grandpa, he’s just jealous.”

“Besides, what’s there to be afraid of controversy? Only with controversy will people pay attention. It’s never the flawless statues that are remembered, but the vivid and lively people!”

Shao Yuqin elegantly put down her teacup and took over the conversation:

“That’s right, how much controversy did Mrs. Mei Cheng have back then? In the end, he was recorded in history.”

Shao Bingheng revealed a shrewd smile and said:

“Our Shao family supports the most top-notch public relations team in the entire empire, what’s there to be afraid of? Apart from increasing Chengxi’s popularity, what other adverse effects can this insignificant controversy have?”

    Shao Tingrui smiled calmly:

“The century-old Shao family can’t even withstand this little fingernail of a thing? What a joke.”

Shao Yuqin followed with a smile:

“Xiao Lin, don’t bother with your jealous Alpha, do whatever you want, your great-aunt supports you.”

“Your great-aunt will invest in every dubbing work of yours in the future, be your sugar mama, and help you become a top player in the industry.”

Shao Tingrui: “Add me in too, I want to be Xiao Lin’s sugar daddy.”

    Shu Lin’s voice was sweet:

“Thank you, Grandpa, thank you, Great-Aunt, and thank you, Father, you are all so good to me.”

“Hmph, anyway, in the whole family, Shao Chengxi is the most hateful, he’s the only one who bullies me.”

As soon as he finished speaking, the old butler’s clear voice came from outside the door.

“Second Young Master, what have you been doing standing outside? Weren’t you looking everywhere for your baby? He’s inside, come in quickly.”

    Shao Chengxi: “…”
